It really can't be understated how revolutionary this game was for all city builders. The completely movable UI, the easy allocation of roles, the sheer brutality if you make the wrong decision...
I bought Banished when it came out and played it a bit but then life got busy, I keep looking at in in my Steam library but when I launch it it's totally different from what I remember and I have no clue what to do. So I'm very glad to see somebody who at least has the basics down playing a proper game from the start !
Just about to call you out thinking this game has only really been out for not so long but then looked it up! Jesus, time flies. I feel so old mate haha, as I have contined playing this game probably once or twice a year after I first bought it when it came out!
I loved this game for like a month and then stopped playing for ... probably about as long as you :D This may spurn me to check it out again (as many of your videos do!)
People always stay in the same house unless the house is damaged and they have to move out. People will change their job to the closest job available. So that homeless woodcutter moved into their very own home and then changed their job to be a hunter. Someone else in town took the woodcutter job.
Honestly I felt really odd with the game when it first released. I did a playthrough on it, start to finish, got ALL the achievements, never lost, barely had any inconveniences. I was on top of trying to keep everything working, it wasn't just a breeze, but it didn't feel "hard and punishing" at all despite it seemingly being all what it was praised for. Enjoyed it for that playthrough, but never felt any interest in playing it again. Anyone would say if it's had any massive improvements since, or had any new mechanics/content that might pick interest?
Every review I see of this game the player used medium difficulty. Which means you do not know much about the game at all. Play the damn game on hard speed 10. Then we will see if you are qualified to give advice to others.
“Over a decade old, I can’t remember what happened yesterday” lmao

So cool to see you playing this!
Mods is a must!
This has been one of my favorite games for a long time. Very basic and enjoyable.

Still an incredible game to play… prob my favourite game despite it being absolute years since I played.
Just started playing this again, great timing!

Wow, haven't seen this game in a while. Looking foward to this.
Gosh a decade?! I feel so old!
Haven't played in years IIRC after several bad starts finally succeeded with a fairly large town/city.
I played this game so much when it was first released. Have you ever checked out Kingdoms Reborn? It's a lot like Banished but also has multiplayer.
Have I been subscribed this long
Should build a bridge cross and put a farm cross the river and a house for farmer
After Banished i played farthest frontier. It has Features that i missed in Banished, like Animal attacks.
