Here’s a leaderboard of countries ranked by their highest building/structure.
Longwaves transmitters & chimneys aren’t included in this list, only buildings such as skyscrapers, monuments, hostels, religious buildings etc. there is an exception for really big radio and tv towers that are part of the landmarks of the city, they must be open to the public and have other functionalities than radio transmissions (like restaurants, museum, observation point and so on) such as the one in Toronto, Berlin, Tallinn, Teheran etc. I’m also taking in consideration the buildings that aren’t finished yet at the time I'm making this video, but are currently in construction and almost finished. Other fictional projects or buildings that aren’t really advanced for now are not included.
For the sake of the video, I rounded up the list to 200 countries including Hong Kong, Macau, Palestine and Puerto Rico.
Let me know in the comments if I'm mistaking some of them and tell me where your country is ranked :) ! Like and share the video if you would like to see a part 2 with the actual tallest structure in every country (whatever it is time lol).
There are few errors in the video :
- Norway’s tallest building is 155m tall, the New Nexan Tower in Halden, which makes Norway at the 83th spot.
- And the tallest building of Ireland isn’t correct, I took a building from Belfast which is in Northern Ireland, the correct will be in Dublin at 79m tall, so Ireland would be downgraded to the 142th spot.
- An other error is with South Africa (44th), I forgot to edit the name of the building so it’s shows the same as Bahrain’s one (which is correct), the name of the tower in SA is the Hillbrow Tower, Johannesburg, and stands at 269m tall!
- BD Bacata Torre is 216m tall, and not 260 as mention in the video, so Colombia drop from 46th to 56th spot.
- The tallest building is Finland is actually the Näsineeula Tower in Tampere at 168m tall, which makes Finland at 76th spot.
- Tallest building in Spain is actually the Torre Collserola, at 288m in Barcelona, which takes Spain in 40th.
- El Salvador also went up to 106th, the Millenium Plaza is in fact 125m tall!
- The AZ Tower is the tallest building in Republic Czech, but the Žižkov TV Tower is almost twice as tall, at 216m, which brings Czechs all the way to the 56th place!
- The tallest building in Greece is the Athens Tower 1, but the building featured in the video is the Piraeus renovation project, go check out the original building 👊
In Romania we have unaited bisnies center 0 is 155 m tall

Towers and buildings are in different leagues. It would be better to have two separate rankings, one for towers and a different one for buildings.
Yes i know that, but this ranking is more about « public structures » so any buildings, towers that can be visited or act as restaurant and is part of the landscape of the city, statues and so on. Because in many countries the tallest tower is just a radio mast that goes up for 500/600m and it’s not a proper building

Anyways or on the other hand,the main user of this channel/ vid did also forgot to specifically say "public structure" as he stated he were going for here,but only wrote the in fact WAY MORE or ABSOLUTELY overall term "structure",which itself do immediately and automatically inl. boring and extremely generic structures as masts,chimneys,which he, as i said before wasn't aiming for here in his own vid here. THAT'S the error you can take into account,when pinpointing or complaining unfortunate AND kind of embarrassing silly errors, instead..🙃😬👌👍🌈💎
@@emilatik8581even though you’re comment is strangely written, I get you’re point, I did not included some because it was my country or I liked it, and it happens on 200 countries to make 2/3 errors, the towers I included aren’t boring or generic, they are all unique, open to public and serves other functions than TV towers or masts, like I mentioned it in the description. And yet, they’re are all free standing structures, and the therme ‘building’ in my native language defines all types of construction, and not only skyscrapers/buildings, that’s why I incorporated Building/Structure in the title 😅
Then you have shorter buildings with higher masts. You could muddy the equation even more with the category of most floors.
I like this list. There are always so many others with just buildings anyways. And you get to do it by one for every country.
I can't believe I live in a taller building than the tallest ones in some countries.

How tall is your building? My building is 200 feet tall and when it was first built 25 years ago it used to be one of the tallest apartment buildings in my city. Now it's dwarfed by buildings that are over 850 feet tall.

A correction about Greece's tallest building. The tallest building in Greece is truly Athens Tower 1, but the picture used is from the tower of Piraeus not from the Athens Tower 1. Also it is not the existing appearance of the tower but the plans for its renovation. Great video btw 🇬🇷😊

@@Plodystyi i did’t counted the Kyiv TV Tower since the tower I counted in the video had to be a public structure, and the Kyiv tower isn’t open to public, but I will count it for the next video!
We (Canada) used to have the tallest building in the world from 1973-2009 now the Cn tower is just the tallest in North America which is still pretty tall, and some cool facts about it is that you can see it from almost anywhere in Toronto it also has a rotating restaurant and a glass floor.

The obel tower may be the largest on the island of Ireland but it’s still considered apart of The UK
The tallest building in the Republic Of Ireland is The Captain Dock which is 259 feet
Small correction the tallest building in Ireland is not the obel tower because that building is in northern Ireland which isn't part of the republic of Ireland its a diferent country.

I am from Monterrey, I am proud to see our tallest skyscraper in a video from a foreign channel, I will only mention a few details.
That image is an old render, at that time the tower was planned to measure 280 meters, then, the architect requested to increase the height to surpass the Costanera Tower in Santiago.
The tower doesn't look as nice in real life as it does in the old render.

The tallest structure in Armenia by far is the Yerevan TV tower. It's 311m tall, much taller than the Elite business centre (85m).

A TV tower and a residential or office building are not the same. The Czechia has the highest building - AZ tower (111 m.), but the highest TV tower - 216 m.

Lakhta Center 462 meters in St. Petersburg, Russia, should be on the 12th place, but it is not in the top at all. And it is actually the tallest building in Europe.
The video is about tallest structure, so whatever is tallest in the country, Russia is 9th

Brazilian Companh FG which built the one tower has already bought the lot and has all the city permits to build the Epic Tower which will place Brazil in the 10th place with a 509m tower in Balneário Camboriú Brazil.

6:00 that’s not the tallest building in the country, it’s the NHBC Tower with a height of 127m. And right now is under construction a new tower that will be not only the tallest in Honduras but in all Central America(5). Atlas Tower, with a height between 150m - 200m.
But that wouldn’t be the tallest structure in the country either, because the concrete curtain of “El Cajón” Dam has a height of 226m. 🇭🇳
Its crazy to think that Q1 tower (tallest building in Australia) was the tallest residential building from 2005 to like 2011 or so (if anyone knows actual year please correct me)
In Romania the tallest structure is the Phoenix Tower from Baia Mare, wich is 351,5 meters tall

This video is not accurate. It compares TV towers and regular buildings. Also I am not sure about the height of churches and cathedrals, some of them are clearly exaggerated.
As you count also transmission towers, Switzerland has the St. Chrischona Tower and is 250 meters high, so Switzerland would be placed the 48 place with Morocco

Well, the Lakhta Center isn’t the Tallest structure. It’s actually a building shown at 13:27 called Ostankino Tower, at 540 meters tall.
It only shows one building per country.
they counted structures which don’t actually count as buildings such as tokyo sky tree and the eiffel tower in which barely of the tower is occupiable and it shouldnt be counted as

You’re right, I did know about this building in El Salvador, it is taller than the one I showed in the video but I found either 125m or 130m on multiples sites, are you sure it’s 130m?

Its not open publicly yet. Another tower that you can see behind the tower is only shy of a few meters from the twins too. I think these makes it theres 3 buildings in Malaysia with height over 400m excluding KL Tower of course.

Zimbabwe: The picture of the building shows the asbestos processing building which is not 141m tall. The mentioned ABC Building is an unbuilt skyscraper project. According to wikipedia the tallest building in Zimbabwe is the 120m tall New Reserve Bank Tower.
