The Rainbow Bridge (レインボーブリッジ ) is a suspension bridge crossing northern Tokyo Bay in Tokyo, Japan. It was built by Kawasaki Heavy Industries, with construction starting in 1987 and completed in 1993. The bridge is 798 metres (2,618 ft) long with a main span of 580 metres (1,903 ft).
The towers supporting the bridge are white in color, designed to harmonize with the skyline of central Tokyo seen from Odaiba. There are lamps placed on the wires supporting the bridge, which are illuminated into three different colors, red, white and green every night using solar energy obtained during the day.

Beautiful city. Great roads. Traffic seems to move so much faster through the city of Tokyo than here in Ireland. I was amazed to realise how much ground this driver had covered in 5 minutes. Great systems in place in Tokyo and all of Japan. What a well developed Country.

For someone who had lived in Tokyo, the first minutes like Minato City Hall where we married were nice to see. But drive - if in the morning - say 5 to 10 minutes later. Then it is bright enough to stop and read the street signs. And don't drive too much Express ways (like from Shiba to Takaracho), since that is interesting more for tourists ...

How it can be the most populated city?
I drive this course and more quite regularly...BUT...I only do it on company business, making truck deliveries of steel etc to building sites in Tokyo...Yes, the highways are great and the views are awesome (especially at night or in the a.m hours) but I wouldn't drive them in my own car because they're just so freakin expensive. See all those toll gates the camera takes you through, gliding with convenience and ease as the automatic bars raise to let you through...well there's also an automatic charge put on your ETC card everytime you do that too, and it really mounts up. You pay by each section you drive...So a lovely tour of the sights of Tokyo from the highways can also turn into a lovely A.I tour of your bank account...Be warned...You pay through the nose for everything here. It might be a good idead to be aware that your Japanese hosts who take you on a driving tour of the city are probably not telling you how much money it's costing them to be your tour guides...
