A heated windshield is a blessing and a curse. One small stone hits that window… and now it’s just a regular piece of glass. Had my Discovery 4 since 2012 and gone through 10 windshields with it. It’s an absolute stone-chip magnet. Think our record was 2 months between new windows. No sooner had the new one been out in than _WHACK!!!_ it gets nailed again by another rock on the highway 🤦♂️
Ok… I have to stop you right there sir… As a proud owner of a Land Rover 110 HT I can tell you, with absolut certainty… The battery box is under the DRIVERS seat 💺😂👍☺️ Greetings from Germany everybody 👋
Adding the draw from the mirrors, you have just increased the total draw above what the wiring was designed for, the heated windscreen has a draw of around 15amps
Only think I would say is I would make sure you don't overload the fuse you might want to work out the draw plus the cigar lighter if you have maybe a phone charger or sat nav plugged in
I Have an issue, unless you have a very, very good high capacity starter/lights battery or a nice aux battery, the windscreen can draw up to 40 amps, the mirror pads are not low voltage,, its a 12v system , they are a lower amperage, If you dont understand theVolts/current/Ampere then i suggest you dont advise others
Awesome stuff man! I would've done the same thing with the mirrors, just seems like the smartest thing to do ahahahah I just broke my heated windshield in my disco 2 fixing rust🥲
Wingnuts are one of those simple inventions that are brilliant
Keen to see how you plan to run the heated mirror wiring !

Only thing i would say is to drill the holes in the door and get the gromits, its just far nicer and safer than having the bare wire there 👌

Certainly wont be letting you work on my landy, far too shoddy
Hopefully you'll be able to do a better job now. Thanks for watching.
