We here on the U.S.S Extra Parts can't confirm nor deny anything dealing with Phase Cloak technology :D
The dreadnaughts doing the whole warp thing is scary, that's a tactical manoeuvre that teleports the injured ship to the strongest ally, your crew can learn that too if you can get the manual from earth space dock :D
Or you can just get a console that provides you subspace jump.
Ok, so on the subject of the Elachi…
There is an in universe lore reason they have the spore drive effects and shit. It is technically a spoiler for later plot, so I won't put it here, but it does make sense once you know more about them. They are not part of the Tal Shiar/Romulan Star Empire, however. They are allies, as Admiral Space Elf said. Now what, exactly, they are… is more plot. But luckily its closer plot then the explanation for the spore jumps!
What is interesting, though, is the elachi have been a thing well before Discovery was a thing. The spore effects are a soft retcon to the elachi, who originally just kinda bamphed in and out of subspace.
They do explain the “Romulan faction” having spore drives. Those are their Elachi allies. We first saw the Elachi on Enterprise. STO retconned them as a species from the Mycelial realm, thus they have spore drives.
Not exactly, close enough but in STO lore the Elachi were created by the Iconians as a subservient species who for a very long time, tens of Millenia quietly abducted people to do research on them for the Iconians and convert them into more Elachi. Tal'shiar traitors working with the Iconians helped them abduct large colonies of Romulans for conversion, they discovered the Mycelial realm much later on. After the Iconian war was over and done with and all the traitor Tal'shiar dead and gone, now for the bit I'm not sure about. I'm not sure how its related to House Mokai, Mokai made a Mycelial weapon and I'm not sure if it was made with Elachi help, stolen from the Elachi or if Mokai forces running around and opening rifts allowed the Elachi to find the Mycelial Realm.
It did have deleterious effects on Elachi though, it "corrupted" them in some way and made them psychotic enough to attack non corrupted Elachi as well as everyone else. Some of the non corrupted Elachi were also recovering their personalities and memories by this point though, some retook their old Identities whilst others formed new ones.
@@Tuberuser187 actually the Elachi are from the Mycelium realm and they joined the iconians as their allies. After the Iconian war some started to return to their old realm
Back in the day Sela's flagship was the only one I recall was able to pull that move out of her aft in elite task force missions.
They updated the elachi in a recent discovery themed story, as the elachi are from a place similar to the mycelium network, they too invented a spore drive. So now i'm pretty sure all elachi ships have been updated to have sporedrives.

The Romulan Republic is allied with both the Federation AND the Klingon empire. The Federation and Empire have a "ceasefire" agreement in Romulan space. They're still at war, but they will not engage in Republic space. The reason both sides place such importance on the Republic is because, despite lacking in resources and ships, they are more technologically advanced. Starfleet and the KDF provide assistance to the republic in exchange for technology, technology that both deem as so valuable that they're willing to put their war on hold, at least in Romulan territory.

I remember doing this mission in my Vanguard Carrier.... fucking love that ship. its a fleet all by itself.

One of my favorite times in this game has been playing a Reman and blowing up the Tal Shiar Romulans up with their own ships.
Agh, Shack, you're getting me back into this game. Which, to be fair, I have wanted to do for a while.
Shack, When on a Connie with 3 Phasers such as yours, You broadside the enemy don’t fire just the aft or bow phasers. Since, Your Low level, broadsiding depletes the shields of Enemy ships and thats when you go in for the Kill with Torp Yield
STO does its best to explain to explain a lot of things, and you are quickly working your way towards the meat of the story, you have only been tasting the edge of it so far, its time to dive in, good luck captain
The Romulan Republic character's counterpart is "Devil's Choice". In the mission, the player should do the fleet battle *THREE* times. (Outer line, Inner line, and the New Romulus)
Star Trek Online is one of my fave games right now. I currently command a Sovereign class when playing as an engineer in it called the USS Eiru as I'm Irish named it after the ancient goddess of Ireland in Gaelic mythology. Also when playing as science officer I command a Luna class called the USS Explorer and lastly when playing as a tactical officer I command a Prometheus class called the USS Manowar lol.
Watching this makes me miss my Klingon crew. I had some crazy powerful ships
in the first space battle and the capital ships kept moving in and out of faze, reminds me of the Andromedin space elevator or their ship transporters. Not sure if that is in the game, but that's what it reminds me of. Have a Great one!!

Thanks for getting me into this awesome game. Now if we could get a Star Wars game just like this, I could jump from one to the other and have all the fun.
Closest thing would probably be SWTOR, but SWTOR tends to be more about person-to-person combat than space battles, though they do have Space Battle modes (one of them being a PvP Faction vs Faction mode).
The hell?! When did they add that to those dreadnoughts? They never spore jumped when I played this mission.
they got added in the patch when they introduced the mycellium realm missions as the elachi are from there along with the tardigrades etc
They were given spore drives for the discovery update missions, but now every elachi enemy that appears also has a sporedrive
Mm I don't like that. Even though sto credibility is always questionable that makes no sense.

The star empire having spore drives will probably make more sense the deeper you get in and find out where their new ally is from.
this is always fun but I'm still waiting for the day you get the Next Generation Enterprise also fun series

In fleet PvE actions like this, I always work on the small craft first (in this case, the Light Warbirds) just to get rid of the extra targets so that the friendly AI will then work-over the bigger threats...
the entire faction having it makes a bit of sense - considering this is later than tng and is the furthest forward in time

I binged watch star trek all of my life so star trek forever
I always forget how nice the smaller ships are for avoiding things like a torpedo. I'm flying the Kelvin Timeline Intel-Dreadnaught and usually just tank everything because it's too big to avoid them.
Shack could of edit out the last part, but leaving it in the episode adds more character to the series. ^^
Now I'm curious if Shack will ever do the Klingon story line and, more importantly, what will he name his ship?!
The Klingons are there because the Federation and Klingon Empire have a ceasefire with regards to helping the Romulan Republic.
You CAN heal & buff allies with abilities like Engineering Team 1. You just need to have them focused, then use the bridge officer ability.

The IKS Kang was there because the Romulan Republic is allied with both the Federation & the Klingon Empire (you can find out why by playing through the tutorial for Romulan players).

Imo, the spore drive would have made more sense in a future trek series since there's no mention of it in st or tng. The way it spins the ship in the series though, is silly. Makes me think of a cartoon or some arcade game. When I saw that for the first time, it made me laugh.
You can't even use the "classified disused tech" excuse for why it was never mentioned. Because Section 31 for fucking sure would have exploited the hell out of it to wipe out the Dominion during the Dominion War.
@@MrMikellsof88 Indeed. I hate horrible recons like this because it just blows up the lore. It's on the same level as sw ep.8 with the ship flying into the other ship. It would be nice if some thought was given to the continuity of the story.
@@Jeff55369 Yeah see the Holdo maneuver might have looked pretty, but it showed the fans that the people running the franchise were willing to completely disregard how hyperspace in SW worked just to satisfy the rule of cool. That's the thing that really ticks me off with modern movie writing; the complete disregard for the established mechanics of the universe they're trying to create because they want something to WOW people. The NuTrek movies were infamous for it. IE: Black holes that were simultaneously time travel, insta-warp AND destruction devices.
Star Trek Legacy ship combat is so superior to this. Miss that game.

if no one said already the Romulan good guy factions are allies with both Klingon and federations if you play as a one at one point in the story you can pic to side with either side getting to use their ships along with the Romulan ships it's also why feds and Klingons can use the Romulan ships
And if you get a Klingon character up to level 65, you will then be able to use all ships from all factions on all of your characters, meaning Klingon characters can use Federation ships and vice-versa. You can also unlock some nice stuff once you become a Lifetime Subscriber (costs either $100 or you have to log into the game for a specific number of total days, so even totally free-to-play players will be able to eventually become Lifetime Subscribers), which includes access a special T6 Heavy Destroyer ship for each of the factions, as well as being able to play as a Liberated Borg character on the Federation, Empire, and Republic.

@@REAPZ18 Yes, as the Rommy story will explain why the Elchie are helping them, the TOS story explains why a Misson there is crew and TOS Station in this timeline, and so on. There are mission that explain and go into why things are for that race.
@@Stormx2233 -SPOILER- put the spoiler there incase anyone who hasnt played the story reads this. all of that is explained in the fed story too. the elachi are servants of the iconians and the iconians are also using the romulans to cause instability. unless the story changed since i last played years ago.

i sent you a message in discord but I crafted you some equipment for the Extra parts (the stuff is infinitely better than the trash tier equipment you currently have and will work not only at your current level but has the upgrade points already in it to allow them to be upgraded till you are level 50+)
While I apricate it. As I've said I wont be taking any items from anyone. I want to see how the games progression works as a F2P player. :D

I am a level 65 Fleet Admiral and I am currently in the mission to save the Kai from a planet in the Gamma Quadrant.
Tell me, even with all my upgraded shields and weapons, how is one ship supposed to destroy a fleet of close to 30 ships????? It is not possible!!!
Use a science vessel and SPACE MAGIC. Gravity well, plus all the anomalies you can stack on it.

There are a lot of possibilities here, depending on your exact situation. But I'm guessing your ship is too slow to run. Speed would help you get away from the mobs, so you could heal. Here's a couple of ways to boost your speed.
1) If you have a rare token from a Phoenix Prize Pack, you can purchase the emergency conn hologram. You place him on active duty, and add Emergency Power to Engines as a bridge officer ability. With this, you can use Evasive Maneuvers much more frequently. You trigger EM. Once it's run its time and started it's cooldown, trigger Emergency Power to Engines. That reduces the EM cooldown to almost nothing, allowing you to use it again. It can get you away from the pack.
2) There is a consumable that mirrors Evasive maneuvers. And they do not share a cooldown, so you can use one right after the other. It's called Deuterium Surplus. It comes from a daily type mission called Defense Contract. But once you have played it, the formula for Deuterium Surplus is added to your engineering crafting school. So you don't have to play Defense Contract again. But before you can play Defense Contract, you must first do the mission Skirmish, from the Spectres story arc. You might have to do other missions in that arc, but I'm uncertain of that. The wiki says you only need to do Skirmish. Spectres is one of the optional story arcs, which you can find in the Available tab. You may have already played it. After doing Skirmish, you can fly to the Alhena system, in the SW corner of the Beta Quadrant. Approaching that system triggers the Defense Contract mission.
It is very tempting to spend a bit of money and get my hands on a refited Defiant class, with a cloak. In a sense just do hit and runs and get out of range long enough heal and then go back guns blazing.
As a tactical officer, you should get an escort class ship at your earliest convenience. It will work better with your abilities.

P.s: i don't hate star wars its just that in terms of spacefights (fleet or ship-to-ship) star wars can't match star trek....
However, in terms of boarding parties or brawl... i think star wars got that department
