The tool box suit case type diesel heaters are designed for outside use, only, you should never have any exhaust joints or the burner air intake inside your habitation space you run the danger of CO poisoning and oxygen depletion this is regardless even if you have a Gas alarm fitted. the stand alone type with a properly mounted sealed gasket and Exhaust and air intake joints are outside are designed for internal use
That heater looks to be a beast in the heat output category. Nicely packaged as well. And hey, I get first dibs on Hoku !! .... just kidding Ben, you stay safe so you and that fine doggy can live to ripe old age.
Thanks George! Their line of heaters are definitely some of the best on the market! Compact and portable, technology has evolved. I knew that you would be one of the first that would adopt Hoku! LOL
Can't wait to get back to the beautiful scenery videos and tours of the parks and reviews of the camping areas. I know equipment is important .... I'd rather see the drone footage, walking the trails, foliage, etc. Please don't think I am being disrespectful to Ben in any way....just would like to see more of the area that I may never get to see in my lifetime. Thanks Ben for all you're doing and working hard for those who need to know.
I can’t wait until the weather gets better too! My favorite time of the year is the fall but I am looking fwd to the spring. I’ll have some camping and drone footage soon! Thanks for watching!
That Heater is 1st Class. I enjoyed your video on it. Is the Fuel Pump noise any less with this model? Thanks for sharing your video. Jake McClellan The Oregon Boy 👦
Is the fuel pump ticking noise more quiet than the Vevor? Have you experienced the Wippro? That one seems to be very quiet and curious how this HCalory ss2 compares?
I just ordered one of these heaters and I am thinking about wrapping copper pipe around the exhaust to heat bathing water or in my case shower water circulating while the heater is running. It’s worth a try anyway even if doesn’t work well in winter weather. Nothing ventured nothing gained 😊
Are you serious they don’t ship to Canada? Thats insane! Well at least you are going to get one. Thanks for watching the channel. Glad to see my Canadian buds!
When you start to order, they offer Cameroon, Cambodia, Croatia, but not Canada. Contacted the company, and they said it was due to logistics. I'm heading south of the border tomorrow as it arrived at my PO box.
How in the world can a person sleep with that pump banging noise. That is a deal killer. Does that banging pump noise propagate through the black flexible heater hose into the camper?
The pump prime knocking is only on start up, once it starts, it goes away. you leave the unit outside the camper and pipe the hose inside. You do not put the unit inside the camper
250w is crazy. You have some big inefficiencies going DC to AC then back to DC. That's over 20 amps at startup. Better off putting some andersons on a battery and going direct
@@sempergumbie ah yeh. 30a will do the job. Those all in one devices aren't common here. We tend to build our own. Autumn here so my diesel heater is just coming out!
That exhaust looks like a fire hazard if sitting on a combustible surface. I would much rather it come out the side or the back. it would for sure need longer legs and maybe heat tape wrap.
I am impressed with how small that is, and the simplicity of setup.
You are correct! Perfect for the outdoors too! I am completely blown away with this piece of gear. Thanks for watching and supporting the channel!
The SS2 has Auto Start & Stop mode. F8. Extend the thermostat inside your unit and set Auto Start Temperature.
I’ll be sure to check that out! Thank you!

I do t really notice the the fuel pump noise once the heater is running. I do find the HCalory brand very quiet! Thanks for watching!

Great video. Was wondering about the display panel and just how much cold it can take before it starts to fail?
I’ve used it in single digit temps and never had it fail
Looks like a great addition to your.gear. We need some more -10 mornings so you can give it a good test.
Yes great addition! I don’t know about the -10 mornings, maybe some 30 degree mornings would be better!

It will definitely heat the water for sure! It gets hot! That’s a great idea, keep me posted!
Since they don't ship to Canada I have to drive across the border to get mine. Looking forward to using it in my cabin and my teardrop.

@@Fingerprintguy let me know how you like it when you have it all set it up!
@@Fingerprintguy where did you order it? I can't find it online, it seems to be out of stock everywhere
right from the HCalory site@@adiq6360
A nice compact unit it is 20:56 that small. I saw it at Ben’s home. Great review.
Thanks for stopping by and checking on me this afternoon!

@@sempergumbie That's all good news. Thanks for your video and reply!
@@bluenetmarketing no problem!
Hi! Does this heater has a fuse ? And yes ,where it is? Used another cable stright to 240V..so my heater not working anymore.Hope it is just the fuse.
I don’t know if it has a fuse, you should contact HCalory customer support.
@sempergumbie thank you ,just ordered a new mother board and the LCD display to replace them.
What is the connection you have that connects the intake pipe to the camper?
It’s a stainless pass thru, you can get it on Amazon

I use my Bluetti AC240 it has a 30 amp 12 volt plug. But know it’s spring, diesel heater is done for the year!

It’s not an issue, I even placed the unit in my van and ran it. I had the exhaust ran thru the floor with no issues
