hot air out flange. this is where your dryer hose connects amzn.to/3vwzJlq
Little Handydude!!! That is quite the little setup Handydude. I learn something new everytime you post a video.
You're that one handyman guy, man.
I love your bandsaw setup, very creative.
HOOO BABY FINALLY A NEW VID ON THIS CHANNEL
Love it, so good to watch straight clever handy man type set ups like this. Human nature forces some critics to always say things about those making their own builds and ideas but you did well and great watching. About to do the same with a chilly bin for my roof tent here in New Zealand. 👍
Tip of the day when your hole saw cutting plastic run it in reverse. It won't bite in, but it will still cut
Hole saw and plastic - run your drill in reverse, cuts much less chunks and scribes itself a start point without the biting jump
Just an FYI, you can use red diesel in that. Red diesel is sold without the highway taxes on regular diesel fuel, it's red because they add red dye to identify it so no one can put it in vehicle fuel tanks without it staining the rest of the fuel in the tank making it easy to verify by DOT by just dipping into the tank. If they find red dye in a vehicle tank the fine is pretty stiff. You can get it at most truck stops because it is used in reefer units. It's also used in farm equipment and any off road diesel vehicle.
that's just home heating oil, yes?
Very cool project
Building one right now following your video thanks for posting this
You bet, I hope it works out well for you.
Ciao!
I want to build one, but with the state of my garage I know I’d spend way more time looking for tools and probably spend more money on other tools I might need, factor in all the parts and other BS I’ll end up buying id probably be better off to buy an all in one unit 😂 Haven’t decided yet. Haha
Just thinking after watching twice if the unit would have been pushed on down ( 3 in. heat outlet to the end of box like the suitcase type ready made are), drilled the 3" hole,(could mount 1 MFS from the inside ,flange out, if you wanted to. Just an idea.. Great job mounting the fuel tank as if it's flat with the bottom of the case you want have the problem of it tilting over (weight of fuel) like those sold on internet. Fans are a MUST it seems as the suitcase heaters you buy on internet will not run very long on Med. or above without over-heating error.. Again, great job . . .P/S... You didn't mention it , (but sure you did it) is put clear silicon sealant around the air inlet tube hole in case & the unit can set outside in any kind of weather., totally sealed..
"Done forget Protection" then cuts metal with no goggles 😂
Are those 5in brackets? I like the idea of heavy duty support instead of a bend in sheet metal. 🤙
Nice video! Are those steel toe boots? Them dogs are breathing!
So what exactly should people do if they don’t know what a mass air flow sensor is? You “accidentally” cut that out. 😂
The same people who need to put gloves on 😂😂
Is that a condensation trap for the diesel? Before the pump?
It's a Fuel Filter.
Mike, what's the bandsaw table for the Milwaukee?
It's homemade
That 1" of dead space in the fuel tank could catch sediment and any stray water, so atleast there is some benefit.
Wow I forgot about that heater.
LFG!!!!
I see you choose the safety squintz
Greetings ' U say camping in a PU? How many continuous hours on battery without charging? They R current pigs.
🇺🇸🤘 Heck Yeah Mike Hunts🤘🇺🇸

Actually those gaskets that you " didnt need" were made out of silicone and the reason its not melting is because of those gaskets. So its a good idea you used them by "accident" but if you choose to build another unit using that make sure you use them again. Those are prevent the plastic from melting from that exhaust
100% needs those gaskets because that SS Flange gets much hotter than the doubled walled exhaust pipe.. Great Job Brother . . . P/S... I run my heater inside my house to cut the cost of Central Heat & Air.. Also use Big Buddy propane heater with it.. Stays around 72 degree's inside large living room where I sleep.. Outside temp around 20 degrees... I Run Both on Low...
💪💪
Is that the 5KW or the 8KW version?
The 5kw and 8kw are the same unit. check out this video. th-cam.com/video/9zauAEwgZ14/w-d-xo.html
Mine is 4 years old they may have some newer options out now.
🎉🎉🎉🎉
Curious, what did the build cost you? Thanks for sharing the build..
Around $260 for everything.
Needs a suitcase tank.......
Every TH-cam video I went and watched. Everyone copies everyone else. You wasted a lot of real estate.
I made one with Ridgid medium size box and other with Apache 4800 case.
The ridgid box has the heater, 20ah LFP battery, solar controller, voltage monitor, AC to DC charger, USB, 12v socket, and cooling fan. I also added a quick disconnect fuel tank.
In the 4800 case, I placed the heater, 50ah LFP battery, voltage monitor, 12v socket, and AC to DC charger.
I exited the case with exhaust and the intake without the use of the pipes.
No need for the cooling fan. I just added two 3" vents on opposite sides.
I also added a quick disconnect fuel tank.
No need for PPE. Yours eyes were safely out of view!
safety squints engaged
Why don't you just buy an all-in-one kit? These setups have everything you just built plus the fuel tank. About $100 plus tax etc. They even come with a handle.
I already had the diesel heater. I though about just buying the all in one kind.
ne pas intégrer le réservoir a fuel rend ce montage un peu stupide et inutile
