Man, they really screwed up the lighting on the final fight. That was one of the best parts when it was on the N64. The lightning briefly lighting up the arena and showing his form, the fact that his entire body is obscured by darkness except for his glowing eyes... It was perfect. And they kinda ruined it.

I kind of get that they wanted to show off Ganon's revamped look, but honestly, only being able to fully see Ganon when the lightning flashed was really cool and added a dramatic touch. This is how Ganondorf acquired the Triforce of Power in Twilight Princess' backstory: by some "divine prank", he too, possessed the power of the gods… Link, as the Hero of Time, earned Courage. Recognizing him and coming to him, it split; Ganondorf ended up with Power, yet, since Zelda is shown Triforce-less… perhaps her Father acquired Wisdom instead? ;-)
The game is still great, but it sucks that they based the 3DS upgrade on the censored N64 version. You can tell by some of the sound effects in the Fire Temple, and Ganon's blood being green. I still have my gold N64 cart, and it works perfectly.
Me too, I have a first-run gold cart...has the "Islamic"-sounding chanting with the Fire Temple music, and Ganon bleeds RED, not green...also the so-called Swordless Link trick works, which was taken out of later releases.

+Richter WLK Majoras Mask is a mystery, it may never have happened and Link could just be the skeleton guide in Twilight Princess. The Hero Link had a horrible fate, no matter which timeline, he loses, and the last Hero comes to the rescue.
Actually all versions of the timeline are the "true" versions. But Majora Mask follow exactly the path where Link defeats Ganon and comes back as a kid. He's even in hyrule woods at the beginning of the game.

what's even worse is how Navi says Ganon wont hold her back to stop her from helping you, and you lock onto Ganon and she says I don't know what his weakness is. it's almost like it was added for Navi to just be in the battle.

The entire game is better on the Nintendo 64. Remakes are never as good as the originals. Instead of constantly remaking games, video game companies should just port the games to newer systems. I'd play the hell out of the original Ocarina of Time on a 3DS.
I don't, really. Like you said, I think the final fight looked cooler in the original. Everything did in my opinion. It all had that dark look, even in its happiest areas. It really did make it seem as I'd Hyrule was in the shape it was in and that it needed someone to save it. Plus, Link looked better in the original, I think. Too girly in the remake.

It did feel like an upgrade with the character models and that was nice to see. For being a remake on a tiny console like the 3ds, it was without a doubt an impressive remake and I enjoyed it none the less. :)
It's a shame that they removed the Islamic symbol from the mirror shield. It's little touches like that that really give a game soul. For the record, you can see it on the N64 cartridge version.

You may argue whether or not this is the best Zelda game of all time (or the best game of all time?) but the ending credits are FOR SURE the best of all the games. I think Nintendo put in a ton of effort into this game because the N64 was really their first venture into 3D Zelda games. You can feel the hard work that went into this. It's like the game had a life of its own.

aw they ruined the final boss fight! The N64 version was so dark and dramatic! And Ganon looked huge and menacing. My 14 year old self nearly passed out from excitement in that fight! In this one, Ganon looks a bit.....Meh.

If I could critique just one thing, it would be that, in most (if not all) of your videos, you go through the text too quickly. I had to repeatedly scroll back and pause to read what the characters were saying. In the future, I'd suggest slowing down a bit more. However, this is just friendly advice :)
Damn I remember playing this game a lot on my 3DS and it felt like I played the hardest game ever but when I complete it, it paid off at the end. Gotta play that game again sometime.
i remember when i played this as a kid i wished i had the abilty to open doors like zelda could, it would have been pretty useful considering the fact that like 60% of the obsticles link encountered were locked doors
It's a bit anticlimatic that all you have to do to beat Ganon is to roll under him and attack his tail. That method of killing just seems... too easy. What happened to the old Ganon? The one who was always invisible and you spent 1/4 of your health just randomly attacking the air, hoping you'd hit him? (The original LoZ)
This game is so awesome! I actually loved the 3ds version better than the 64 version. They made things just a bit easier and the game looks a lot more cooler and still fun. That final fight looks super badass and I love the lightings. Way better than the original version not gonna lie. That was a major improvement to the game and the changes was fantastic and better. Major props to Nintendo doing that.
At first I didn’t notice how much brighter the 3ds version was but after looking back at it again I really noticed how bright it was. The sky was just too light and all of the shadowing is gone in the final battle.

I think the lighting on the ganon portion of the boss couldn've been darker.
I always love how Ganon disarms you and the sword lands right next to Zelda, yet she makes zero attempts to toss it back to you

We do see him teleport it away before the fight.
It's a shame that they removed the Islamic symbol from the mirror shield. It's little touches like that that really give a game soul. For the record, you can see it on the N64 cartridge version.

I don't understand your statement. Zelda games are choc full of religious references and similarities e.g. Tri-force, goddesses, resurrection.
They took those things out because the Muslims were pissed about it. Also, having the Islamic chanting mixed with music is against their religion.
Putti Vanitas I thought Nintendo removed them to AVOID Muslims getting pissed, I don't think they ever said anything back when it first came out. As a Muslim myself, I see no problem with the Moon symbol on the mirror shield, but the chanting did have an issue with it :/
And they removed the chanting from the Fire Temple.

It always bugged me how Ganondorf's cape went through his body when he collapsed to the floor in the N64 version. I'm so glad they fixed that.
At 26:02, I always said this, right when the screen says "Presented By Nintendo" (Which will say it on the N64 version don't know about 3DS)... This quote comes from The Legend of Zelda A Link to the Past. "...And The Master Sword sleeps again... FOREVER!"

25:39 I don't know if it's also in the 3DS version, but in the N64 version, if you complete the spirit temple before the shadow temple, link will have his kokiri shield equipped during the cutscene when he becomes a child again.

You may argue whether or not this is the best Zelda game of all time (or the best game of all time?) but the ending credits are FOR SURE the best of all the games. I think Nintendo put in a ton of effort into this game because the N64 was really their first venture into 3D Zelda games. You can feel the hard work that went into this. It's like the game had a life of its own.

aw they ruined the final boss fight! The N64 version was so dark and dramatic! And Ganon looked huge and menacing. My 14 year old self nearly passed out from excitement in that fight! In this one, Ganon looks a bit.....Meh.

+EpicManiac9000 nah its not. if you watch a youtube video of the n64 version (i did recently) it is made to look much more dark and dramatic. yes there is 14 year old nostalgia there too, but the two versions are quite different in appearance

If I could critique just one thing, it would be that, in most (if not all) of your videos, you go through the text too quickly. I had to repeatedly scroll back and pause to read what the characters were saying. In the future, I'd suggest slowing down a bit more. However, this is just friendly advice :)

More proof that the original was a masterpiece. Not even a remake made decades later can replicate the raw cinematic atmosphere.
Damn I remember playing this game a lot on my 3DS and it felt like I played the hardest game ever but when I complete it, it paid off at the end. Gotta play that game again sometime.

i remember when i played this as a kid i wished i had the abilty to open doors like zelda could, it would have been pretty useful considering the fact that like 60% of the obsticles link encountered were locked doors
It's a bit anticlimatic that all you have to do to beat Ganon is to roll under him and attack his tail. That method of killing just seems... too easy. What happened to the old Ganon? The one who was always invisible and you spent 1/4 of your health just randomly attacking the air, hoping you'd hit him? (The original LoZ)
This game is so awesome! I actually loved the 3ds version better than the 64 version. They made things just a bit easier and the game looks a lot more cooler and still fun. That final fight looks super badass and I love the lightings. Way better than the original version not gonna lie. That was a major improvement to the game and the changes was fantastic and better. Major props to Nintendo doing that.

At first I didn’t notice how much brighter the 3ds version was but after looking back at it again I really noticed how bright it was. The sky was just too light and all of the shadowing is gone in the final battle.
