In this video we are exploring a huge manor located in Belgium. Finding a manor in this state, with so much history and majesty, is our rarest find so far in Belgium. It was definitely one of the most stately places we ever explored in Belgium, our number one mansion for sure.

The metal trays inside the dentist cabinet are used to take impressions of a patient's teeth to make crowns and dentures I think

What you saw in the attic is actually a dental drill with pedal. It worked without electricity and was used before those modern units. They were very useful during the war also here in Finland.

A lot of these "mansions" become abandoned, I believe, because 1. may not have been a will in place when the person passed away so things remain in a legal stance, 2. they may not have been able to "find" the person to who the home was left, 3. maybe somebody did inherit the home AND cannot afford to pay the taxes on the properties, especially the ones you see that are all empty and they may have SOLD everything inside but keeping up with Taxes or whatever there is in each country is incredibly expensive on something of the size of these homes you go through along side maintenance, utilities, etc. I know this is a huge problem in the US, even on homes not even that are large like this. So the sit, and rot away....sad, sad stories. I used to do some work in rehabilitating homes and research on vacant homes in the US, and there were a lot caught up in this situation, rotting away, causing eyes sores in the neighbored, sad stories of nice old homes decaying. The government needs to step in, set a timeline where they acquire the property and "donate it" to either a non-profit, development corporation so they can be saved or if at a certain point, demolished and save "what is good" out of the homes for sale and/or reuse (stairs, fireplaces, etc.). Just my opinion.

What an amazing place! Thank you so much for the privilege of seeing this! $50,000 would not come close to the value of these things; if I were a rich man of means, I would easily pay $2 Million just based on what you showed in your video. This is living history! Thank you, thank you, thank you, for letting us see this!

Hi, great job! I always find it funny when younger people exploring old mansions, I started UrBex for 25 years and still love it.
The most of this old furnitures you can found them on flee markets for a few bucks (no kidding)
The clamps in the dentistry are to do the putty or print of your teeth
the wardrobe is a vaisselier about 500 euro, the kid chambers are from the '80s, in the attic, its a spinning loom
Why this places are so, like the people left, when the people are going old the most of them are going to a special place, and the children don't have always the time or opportunity to clear / sale the house
BUT, thank you for your respect that you have during your explorations.

  • @mikerowan9682

The things you called clamps are impression molds.
And the cabinet is called a Sideboard w/hutch. Most likely Louie the 16th or
    French Renaissance era.

I would not restore the "wardrobe"
( it is a liquor cabinet or China or buffet side Service cabinet). I would however have it cleaned by someone who knew what they are doing. To restore or strip a fine piece of furniture like that would only destroy it. It needs to keep its natural patina to keep its value! 😉

Please don't share any information about this lovely place it would be such a shame if some one goes in and destroys! I have never seen a curved circular door in a house like this Amazing! The clamps near the Dentist office were mouth molds for shaping teeth for false teeth patients! Everyone has a different shape to their mouth! There was a key in the door you couldn't open 34:42

13:18 The carpets on the floor and in the hallway look like original Persian rugs and would still be very valuable. I have similar ones in my apartment.
    14:08 Superb paining. Beautiful.
17:15 LOL. There is nothing to restore. It seems in perfect condition.
20:12 They are not postage stamps but matchbooks containing matches for smokers. They were used as a form of advertising by many hotels and restaurants. I have a collection with about 500 of them from different parts of the world. A real fire hazard. ;)
23:50 Not coffee. That is an old spirit (or oil) lamp possibly for use on an old bicycle at night.
29:22 I have seen this style of sewing box in a couple of your other videos. My ex-wife also had one of these.
31:10 The person who lived in this room would feel really weird if he discovers this video.
32:54 Not a girl, but a boy. The perfume was "Pour Monsieur" ... "for men". The boy is obviously grown up and was in his twenties when he left his room behind. My son lived with me till he was 23 and had his own stash of drink in his room.
33:15 They would not all have lived here. That looks like an extended family history. There is more on the other side of the room.
33:58 The guy in the photo second from the left was also in the big painting downstairs.
34:44 I was screaming at you "THERE IS A KEY IN THE LOCK". Now I will never know what secrets lurk in that room. Perhaps that is where Mr Marroyen died because the seals on the door look official.
36:24 I think it was messy from when the family came to sort through things to see what needed to be taken after the dentist died.
Wonderful video. Thank you. 37 minutes but too me 90 minutes to watch, pause, research and comment. :)

I am amazed that in this large house the kitchen seem small, I might have to look at this video again to see if I missed the areas for cooking preparations. So much stuff on the floors I might have missed more bath rooms for bathing. Saw plenty of face bowls in the rooms for a quick wash up and a few toilets. Such a cool explore. I would have loved to have been there to have looked through some of those things. Where did the family go? How could they have left their family tree papers that were framed and hung up? The paintings were gorgeous, especially the one of the gentleman by himself. Someone needs to get them out of there before they are destroyed. Oh my gosh the furniture was absolutely beautiful. I don't know how you found this placce , but try and find more history. This was a gem. You guys are awesome explorers. I can't say enough times how impressed I am by the respect you show the homes and the contents. Thank you again for a wonderful adventure. USA

What amazing find. I hope you guys will take pictures of the family owners in the past and try and find the their family so they can try to claim their property of their heirs. It's amazing how nobody has taken anything or destroy that here in the United States everything would have been stolen smashed and destroyed they don't respect things like all of the other countries do. It breaks my heart when I see things destroyed and stolen I like to see the filming then how respectful you guys are and leave it as it is only take pictures and only leave foot prints behind.

You say around $50,000 worth of stuff in that house? I say probably closer to 10-30 x that amount ($500,000-$1.5 million). There is some remarkably expensive and antique stuff in that place that people will pay hundreds & thousands for, easily. I noticed Chanel perfume in the KID's room? That makes me believe that there is some extremely expensive clothing in that mansion as well. This was great; thanks so much for sharing guys.

Hi Maureno and Remon, explomo, I am so glad to see, that Remon survived the "dental treatment" alive from that creepy but stil
very youthful and somehow vagely familiar looking dentist. LOL! - That was surely one of your absolutely greatest videos. I loved watching the video,
because the details in his house, where the dentist and his family was living, were equally interesting as the medical items in his practise.
There were so many valuable and beautiful details in that huge manor house of the dentist. - Incredible! - I agree with you, that you found
a true time capsule. There were quite a number of good antiques to see. I think, that especially these paintings with the gold frames
might be very valuable. Also one of the cabinets with the elaborate wood work might have some value, although you don't get so much money
anymore nowadays for old furniture, if it is not very special like art nouveau or art deco, or of course very old style funiture from the 19th century or older. - Seeing Remon as "Charlie Chaplin" was another funny scene in your video. - The item in the attic I could recognise as an early example of a dentist drill. (late 19th to early 20th century) The big wheel was connected with a pedal and from the wheel the drill was driven with a transmission. - But, you can certainly imagine that the amount of rotations/sec. were in no way comparable to a modern dentist drill. So thank you very much for an entirely wonderful video. You guys really deserve much more subscribers. - Stay safe and wishing you a beautiful Whitsunday-Weekend! -
Peace and kindest regards from Switzerland.

Yes they take a big commision but what would it matter when no one seems to care about this stuff anyway.Love the stained glass window. The buffet or china cabinet does not need any restoration it is beautiful as is. The mens colgne was Polo real popular back in the 60's and early 70's. You said it horders some one who needs to have everything whether they need it or not to much money maybe. To many things I caught here to mention. Thank You

@@Explomo One more thing about the photographs. I have watched many of your videos about who is who in photographs. I have some knowledge of vintage fashion and sometimes a bit doesn't match with the owner possible lifetime. The first photograph of the man is like something from late Victorian era (something before 1900). So, in case the dentist lived through 2000s, it could be his father. Then, the black and white grandmother's pic (that shown after a color grandmother pic in children room), the fashion is really something from 1880-1900. So, maybe that's dentist's mother or grandmother. That's my opinion tho, hope it's useful 😊
