      He made the exact same time of Steven Kruijswijk, nothing more than an honest wingman.
      So yeah, the performance was odd, but not really unbelievable, especially since, as said, contrary to Valverde and Kruijswijk, not having general rank's ambitions, Foliforov rested the day before.
      BTW, in absolute terms, that performance had been nothing to write home about, The identical one of Kruijswijk had been measured in VAM of 1646 m/h = 6.09 w/kg .

    Great video presenting what is suspected and in truth known but not expressed. Though the sport has cleaned up, I think the TUE's had a tainted aspect to them too. I suppose all riders and teams will push every boundary in the sport to a line of acceptability and sometimes beyond - it's the nature of elite sport.

    Zakarin got caught prior to uci career too right? admittedly with trenbolone I think it was , it was an anabolic steroid helpful for bodybuilders fast twitch muscle like sprinter or swimmer would actually be problematic for cyclist he just had no clue because he would loose all suppleness and tighten up so bad worst cramps. This was jaw dropping I still remember like yesterday everyone was worried about bike change and Kruijswick hadn't crashed yet and was crushing field still . 2nd to 3rd week of giro I hadn't heard his name and then whatever was in his system lasted little longer because he made finale of another stage and then poof dissapeared:) from what I remember like stefan shumacher blatant TT performance that makes you feel instantly uncomfortable

    • @michaelstratton5223
      @michaelstratton5223 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Who else? Belarus maybe? I can't really imagine any EU member nation doping their athletes. Columbia only has cocaine. Kazakstan is lucky if they have enough funding to pay the entry fees, no doping budget there. South Africa mayyyybe? Not too many likely culprits other than Russia, or Belarus which almost never has anyone on any team in any race.

    • @phush3495
      @phush3495 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@michaelstratton5223 yeah I mean my point is , the idea of 'state sponsored' is daft , why would any state do this in any kind of direct way. The British teams over the last decade are clearly up to something. But it would never be linked to a prime minister. The control over the media narrative allows us to make links from putin to a cycling team. Which is probably BS. It would be a stupid thing to do ,to say the least. That is not to say that Russia has not got a problem with this, but the discourse is when its anyone else it's a individual issue. When it's Russia, its putin.

    • @michaelstratton5223
      @michaelstratton5223 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@phush3495 Russia controls its society and safeguards its patriotic interests with so much more lunacy than any other developed country that I can't really blame anyone for thinking Putin himself is injecting Russian athletes with uranium or something. Maybe not him personally, but it's been proven Russia had set up a doping research clinic for nefarious purposes. Check out the film "Icarus" in which Grigory Rodchenkov himself admits to those purposes.

      that TT was absurd he was on standard bike for flat he should have shelled so much time and you can't match Kruijswick on one of hardest days of that Giro at level he was still riding at he hadn't crashed on descent yest and was flying!!!! He was on TT bike up mountain and obiously aero as hell for all flat shouldn't have been close, and not have any other results in that giro or other seasons this was still icarus operations but to be fair stefan shumacer TT where he beat fabian cancellara in Tour eyes coming out of head was bad too but wasn't beating best GC men deep into a GT on one of its most its most decisive stages no such thing as specialist for mountain time trials you are a great climber and great a guaging your effort or not. If you mean great at one which has both splits like Planche with Tadej they switched bikes and that has become a practiced art where you switch bike on steepest part since you would be going slowest anyway so as no loose least momentum possible in bikie switch. That didn;t happen here that's why the looks of wth by boswell.
