    I get that it's taken me ages to find decent sailfins. Having said that I am quite fussy and I prefer the green wild type sailfins. I do think you're right about the driver situation. The ones I have brought did seem very expensive

      Sorry been on a Scottish island with no phone signal on my network anyway for a few days!
      Yeah there was very few to choose from and most shops only had normal black mollies or the balloon sailfin which I dont think are the best example of a fish personally.
      Yeah one of the females I have is fairly close to the wild type colour anyway is a green/brown, glad I have them now and should have my own little supply, although might acclimate more unrelated mollies later to stop any possible inbreeding, thanks for watching! 😀

    Love saltwater mollies. Interesting point about them making other fish more comfortable

      Yeah they are great! Seen them on your channel a few timed and just seen all the different colours you have in the lower tank next to the fluval shaker 👌 might have to add more mollies in the next tank!
      Yeah I see a lot more of my shy little possum wrasse now which is great! Thanks for watching! 😁

    Whenever I see mollies in saltwater tanks with reef fish I always notice 3 things:
    - The molly seems to struggle with fighting the current.
    - The other reef fish seem to react negatively towards the mollies.
    - The mollies never seem to swim around normally, they always seem stressed.

      There isn't much flow in my tanks as they are softie/some LPS but yeah SPS would be a total no, aggression is a thought in larger tanks I could imagine tangs, butterflies and others would be mean as hell and they wouldn't stand a chance, I've only got 2 Clowns, a Damsel and a Blenny no one seems to bother anyone, which is probably why if the flow is high and they are being bullied they wouldn't swim around normally, thanks for watching!

    Got a orange lip conch snail, bunch of different kind of snails, blue hermits, red hermits, tailspot blenny but they are too lazy to eat rather wait for me to drop some food every 3 days... even if I wait longer than 3 days they are still too stubborn go go after the hair algae so I end up having to get it myself

    Picked up 5 Freshwater mollies and acclimated them to add herbivores because I can’t afford a Tang.

    Ever have problems with mollies with hammer corals and other corals that can sting more?

      Sorry missed this comment, it's not something I've seen or had an issue with as far as I know, thanks for watching 😁

      I still have 1 of the adults but have lost the other 2, I still have 10 babies in the XL200 that are nearly 18 months old now and they are doing well, I actually need to buy some reef fish for that tank, but lacking in a decent local LFS so just never added any, need to make a trip or order online.

    Ma come fanno a vivere in acqua salata se sono d'acqua dolce?

    • @PracticalReefer
      @PracticalReefer  ปีที่แล้ว

      They live in brackish water/coastal areas in the wild, so go between salt and fresh water normally 🙂

    The ugliest fish you can add to a reef , but I agree they are ok to clean

    • @PracticalReefer
      @PracticalReefer  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah there are some absolutely stunning reef fish but wouldn't say Mollies are ugly myself some nice colours I think, might be my first fish in any future tanks to fight any algae from the start maybe 🤞 thanks for watching! 👍

      @@PracticalReefer I didn’t explain well , for me they are ugly on the reef because they are not naturally salt water fish , but on a freshwater aquarium they are ok ! But anyway your aquarium is amazing, thanks for sharing with us all your journey 👍
