    Nice! You're a brave man. I don't have the balls to try that many angels! Well done!

    I love angelfishes and I too love corals, so it was a conflict on working around them. But I took the bait and did both anyways and luckily, nothing has happened, not even my Zoas! I have emperor, queen, flameback, and 2 flame angels.

      @knox7945 Wow! Nice choices in Angels!!! I agree I love them both. It was worth the risk, but costly to figure out what corals my particular group of Angels would eat. It is definitely not for everyone though....lol! I love the pair of Flame Angels. That would be really cool! I have my limit now though. I don't want a sixth angel.....that would probably push my luck....😆

      @WRASSEREEFCHANNEL thanks! I love angelfishes and are my favorite types of fishes, so I can't imagine a saltwater fish tank without them and their color schemes goes with the coral setting which is terrible because it's a gamble. I still want another one, perhaps a lemonpeel or a goldflake.

      @knox7945 I love my Goldflake....I got him as a really tiny guy. He's captive bred, so he was maybe an inch when I put him in my tank. He was the last Angel I added.

      @@knox7945 are large angelfish confusing the corals for being sponges ? If you bother to do the research 🧐 you’ll see that on the reef itself large angelfish species eat sponges,Zoanthids and tunicates. Angelfish are never observed on diving trips ripping apart corals. This seems to be an aquarium phenomenon. Btw most angelfish tend to lose their bright colouring in so called fish only with live rock setups and go on to develop lateral line disease. They are much better suited to a full blown mixed reef aquarium in which the corals develop into massive thick colonies therefore mitigating any damage these reef fish may cause to corals if any. Angelfish predation on corals most likely stems from aquarist that inadvertently don’t feed enough to keep their satisfied in an effort to keep nutrient levels low because they don’t have an adequate enough nutrient export system to keep their tanks clean. Eg. Powerful protein skimmers,algae scrubbers, UV sterilization system with ozone or chaetomorpha reactors etc.

    Tank fish and coral on point as usual I agree it is trial and error like most things in life ❤

    Do you think your Emperor will be fine in your tank for its entire lifespan? If I recall you have a Reefer 750XL which gives dimensions of approximately 72” x 26” x 24”.
    Always loved the Goldflake and I would say Angels are my favorite fish by a fair bit as well, I do love some Butterflies as well. After that, Basslets (Gramma and Liopropoma), Hawkfish and Roundheads (Plesiops, Marine Betta). How long on a side note have you had your dwarf angels and your Tangs? Sorry for all the questions!
    And I totally agree on loving fish more than corals! Never understood the appeal of so many wanting to go full SPS and they’re like “but that means to keep nutrients down and water quality I need to have less fish”, the hobby so often is all about coral but fish is where it’s always been at for me.

      @AbsoluteZero6714 Red Sea Reefer leaked last November. So I changed to a new 220 galon Planet Aquarium. The tangs and dwarfs I have had for several years. My adult Passer didn't make it through the tank leak. So I got the adult Emperor after I got this new tank up. I lost a few other wrasses, but that was it.

      @@WRASSEREEFCHANNELSorry to hear about your Passer, it’s always hard to lose a cherished fish. Glad your new 220 seems to be thriving though. How often are fish lost during incidents like these and which wrasses did you lose?
      Also it doesn’t really make sense to me how a “standard” 220 prioritizes height over width. The standard 220 is 72 x 24 x 30 which has the same footprint as a standard 180, but 72 x 30 x 24 gives the same volume with a bigger foot print. Unless it’s tanks 300+ gallons I don’t get height above 24-25”. I don’t understand why some prioritize height over footprint. Like a 90-gallon could be 48” x 20” x 22” or 48” x 22” x 20” but the standard 90 is only 18” wide. Also I don’t get why 105-gallon tanks aren’t a standard: 48” x 24” x 22” as it’s literally just 2 inches shorter than a standard 120. Just putting it out there, it’s kind of weird how aquarium makers decide to prioritize dimensions.

      @AbsoluteZero6714 That is an interesting thought about the sizing. Yeah I was bummed loosing my Passer, I raised him from a baby. I lost a 2 Twistii Wrasses, China Wrasse, female Vermiculated Leopard Wrasse, a Red Coris Wrasse. It depends on how quickly you get the fish out and moved to a new tank. My problem was that all fish, rock, nems, and coral went into buckets, while I moved the old leaking tank outside. Moved new tank in, plumbed new tank, put rock in, new sand, and water. Then dumped fish and everything else in. No tank cycle, I didn't expect one, but dumped bacteria in anyway. Water in buckets got to cold unfortunately and probably to much stress. Anampses and Leopards are hard sensitive fish anyway.

      @WRASSEREEFCHANNEL  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @fishels3895 I love this hobby, but it took a long time to get here. My first tank was a 29 gallon. Knowing what I know now, I would start with a 60 gallon. Smaller tanks limit your livestock choices and are harder to keep stable as far as water parameters. It isn't easy initially, but nothing worthwhile is easy....lol....this hobby is definitely great even with the ups and down. If you have the time go back through my videos starting when I had my second tank a 80 gallon all in one, up until now with my current 220 gallon. You will see the ups and downs I am talking about, and see how much I learned, and how different my tank looks now.

    Hey mate, what size is the tank?
    I love your stocking choices. I have a 150 gallon with a Majestic, Regal, Lemonpeel, Venustus, Coral Beauty & Multicolor. Also have Melanurus, Biocellatus, China, Yellow tail tamarin, Lineatus wrasses.
    My tank is soft corals only, mainly leathers, and I have no issues at all with the angels nipping.

      @@andrewschipplock5489I assume you got the Majestic at close to its current size as I heard they’re some of the slowest growing Angels especially compared to some other Pomacanthus and Holacanthus which are viewed as the “large” large Angels while most Apolemichthys, Chaetodontoplus and Genicanthus would be viewed as the medium Angels, and of course Centropyge and the Paracentropyge as the dwarf angels though Interruptus is one that gets to just as large or larger than some of the Genicanthus and Apolemichthys or Chaetodontoplus. Surprising your Lemonpeel x Half Black (is it?) hybrid is the best behaved out of the bunch, considering their reputation. It’s like getting a Six-Line Wrasse that plays nicely with other community fish.

    There are lots of full fledged mixed reef aquariums with large angelfish populations. Are you pretending these tanks don’t exist? Other than the fact that some people don’t like mixing reef fish with corals and like fish only setups instead. Also in nature large pomocanthids are spongivores. They also supplement their diet with zoeanthids and sea squirts or tunicates. There is a forty year old reef tank in Sweden said to be the oldest in Europe full of large angelfish and even butterflyfish .. very impressive. Also at he end of the day Angelfish are in fact reef fish. They belong in a reef setting. Feed your fish frequently to prevent boredom and predation to your corals. That’s all you need to do.

    • @WRASSEREEFCHANNEL
      @WRASSEREEFCHANNEL  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @coralreef909 I am sorry that you incorrectly imply that I think I am the only person that has a reef tank with angels in it. Obviously that is not the case and untrue. I never made any implications suggesting that. I am fully aware how Angels live and survive in both the wild, and in the home aquarium. I feed my Angels really well, as I do all my fish. I have stated many times in my videos that it makes a difference. Thank you for your input.

    • @sberry55
      @sberry55 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Feeding doesn't work. If they're going to nip, they're going to nip. Over feeding isn't an end all solution to preventing fish from nipping.

    • @WRASSEREEFCHANNEL
      @WRASSEREEFCHANNEL  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @sberry55 I definitely don't over feed my fish, but they do eat well...3 cubes twice a day for over 20 fish.....definitely not over feeding, and I never say that if you dump a bunch of food in your tank, your Angels won't eat coral. It's finding what corals they will or won't eat. You never know what corals each angel will like.
