    For a chap who hates painting horses you do a great job with them.

    How could I miss this? Anyway, excellent video and interesting techniques. I am glad that I am not the only one who uses an intersting mix of colours from many different companies.

    Good job again sir and how do the gripping beast plastics compare to victrix and warlord figures?

    • @7thson726
      @7thson726  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Cheers mate, well the gripping beast scale in really well with Warlord and are slightly smaller than Victrix however i lile Gripping beast as they are nice and straightforward with alot of options and all the kits are interchangeable (that I've used)

    When painting a horse one must remember that a Black horse with stockings will have a tan colored hoof. The hoof will be a dark gray with a black leg. Now if the Arab used a black hoof dressing then???? Give Ted a nice belly rub for me. Great video!

    Great video Martin 👍thanks for showing me how to paint with contrast do mix normal paints and contrast paints can you drybrush the model at the start when you put contrast paints then drybrush and wash will that work

    • @7thson726
      @7thson726  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks mate 😁 i don't see why not, thay ahould work, the only thing is if you get the contrast on anything you don't want to you'll have to re paint it 👍

  • @johnmcdonald4308
    @johnmcdonald4308 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Great job as usual Martin, loving the crusades stuff. I was wondering what method & paints do you use for painting your grey horses as I’ve been trying with contrast paints but the results aren’t great. I’ve seen the stills of the ones you’ve done & they look great.

    • @7thson726
      @7thson726  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Really pleased you like it 👍🙂 so for greys i work from a base of Space Wolves Grey or Apothecary White (if i want a much lighter horse), then i wash with Watered down strong tone then pick out the high areas with a lighter grey or off white, hope that helps

    • @7thson726
      @7thson726  ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm glad you like them 😁 The painting took about an hour yeah, for the three on the base, I just tend to focus a base at a time, whack on an audiobook or podcast and soon they are done 👍

      @@7thson726 I'm currently working through 44 Gripping Beast Vikings (so many grey trousers, once I get to the tunics I can add some colour) and then I've got a unit of these for my Byzantines - do you know anything about their historical colours? I've already streamlined the process by deciding their horses will be white with just a hint of nuln oil in the recesses!
