What a useful video, Colin! Retired designer here, and I give you multiple thumbs up for your beautifully composed gallery wall. I appreciate your sense of organization, with distances and visual weights respected among the pictures to give a cohesive feel to the whole. It can be disconcerting when they are hung without attention to that dynamic tension among the pieces. I only wish I had known your clever trick with the marked newspaper mockup when I started working in the seventies! Always a delight to see a video from NTS in the notifications.
😮 This is the first paid promotion ad on TH-cam that's actually reached my wallet and made me want to go buy something. The TV and the sound bar are going into my shopping cart ❤
Well done guys. When I saw SS sponsoring the video I rolled my eyes slightly thinking it’s purely selling their gallery TV and soundbar. But you gave enough good tips to make this not feel like a sellout 👍🏼 (and I absolutely know you need that financial support, so I totally get it - so it’s a pure praise)
Thank you for your work in celebrating small spaces! I love the creative and original ideas you share. Everyone can love their space! Thanks for helping us do this.
i am sixteen and my dream is to be an architect and interior designer. ive been a fan of this channel for almost two years!! i am currently redesigning my room and i am using both my knowledge from watching so many episodes and milanote to organize my ideas!!! thank you so much for helping me out!!! :)
Fun! Really like your gallery wall and appreciate you showing us your step by step process. Appreciate the information about the frame tv & especially about the more athletically pleasing sound bar (ours is bascic black) but my FAVORITE part of the video is your precious Doggy!! 🤍🤍🤍
Funny and informative! The resulting gallery is beautiful and no kidding, I really want to buy that tv and sound bar...very classy and discreet. (And your sister is talented!)
Thank you Colin for sharing your space! I've been wanting to do a gallery wall for ages, but especially nervous because we have concrete walls 😅 will have to make another go of it
Great video. Useful tips to do a Gallery wall. Something now I can attempt. Also appreciated hearing about the sound bar, I was needing something to make the volume of my TV better. Have a Great day. ❤cheers from Canada
Thanks for the great video! You have given me some ideas for my new gallery wall in my office. Keep the videos coming. I am always excited to see the next!
Instead of using newspaper, much better to take a photo about the pictures I find the correct position and balance in a photo editor, CAD programm or even with a world processor. Newspaper is may correct in size, but not giving back the differenc motives, colours and frame styles.
@@nevertoosmall The most basic method if you open a new sheet (white or colour) in MS Word, OpenOffice, etc. in the right size and scale to get a blank wall. Then insert the pre-cutted photos from your smarthone, and by moving the photos on the blank pages, you get the instant preview of the final installation. You can even save the different variations. It works if you don't framed a picture yet or just don't have it at all. In essence, it 's a publication edit on the wall, without text. You don't need any specific skills to do.
What a beautifully done th-cam.com/users/postUgkxYGamVaHfdHiPlAQaLa7zkwR02OKpGYDU ! The instructions and the photographs are brilliant. It is thorough and genuinely informative. Ryan got another winner! No one does it better!
I may be in the minority here, but I don't tune in to NTS for this sort of DIY stuff. I don't want interior design tips. If you are going to do this sort of content, then maybe you could get in on the ground floor of a small space renovation and show what a space could look like. Go from raw space to reconceptualizing to demo to construction to finished space. I'm not sure how you would be able to do it production-wise, but "How to Create a Gallery Wall" just isn't the NTS brand to me. It's HGTV. I know that sounds somewhat ironic given the outline I just laid out for you above. Good luck advancing and expanding your brand.
Wouldn’t that be wonderful , it’s been on our to-do-list since day 1 and when we have more resources in the future we would do that. Thanks for you genius suggestion .
I won't be buying any Samsung products and don't own a TV but I found this video useful and inspiring for hanging and placing many of my cherished photos and small pieces of artwork. I guess I was not affected by any "plugs" for Samsung because those products are irrelevant to my particular lifestyle. "Don't throw the baby out with bathwater ". 😊 Cheers!
wait, i have to hammer a nail with enough power to push it into the wall? now i know what i always did wrong. eye-opening..... but for real, i expected tips like "install a picture rail once directly under the ceiling and use nylon threads do hang your pictures so you don´t have to hide holes once your taste changes and you swap pictures around", and not this mix of advertisements and clickbait which is not worth my time.
"apply toothpaste in the hole, and move on with your life" is the best quote i have heard today.
Review this man's flat already
😂👍
I think they did. Check the list. 😊
Agree
‘’This man’’ is the founder of NTS lol
Agree! 🎉

Ads are needed to fund the channel and this one is done with taste, it doesn't bother me. I like your apartment Colin. 👍
Thanks so much Marisa! We really appreciate it x

I’m not sure if you already featured the plywood boxes but where do you get those? Thanks!
It’s called Mocrates :-)
@@nevertoosmall Priceless! So you are now using the Mocratic method?
Which colour bezel is on this frame tv?
I loved your wall. Is that a shadow puppet on the top right corner? AriadnefromGreece.
Will a gallery wall still work if i place the TV on the cabinet?
I had to comment because of toothpaste.. Brilliant!!

What soft do you use?
Great video! But that tv is not 5' off floor. I do t understand what toure trying to say there.
Also I can't find this Paul Klee art on my samsung TV. How can I get it?
You can try the search tap for all Paul Klee’s works , maybe that would work. Hope that helps
@@nevertoosmall tried. Not available ☹️
"Apply some toothpaste to the mistake hole, and move on with life"... I think I've found my new tattoo
👌
Should have watched this video before triyng for 30 min to be able nail my wifi to hide it behind a frame
Ended up doing the same by trial and error 😅
Yes, toothpaste is my weapon too😅
Colin, we already knew you're amazing, but thanks for reminding us! 🔨 🪥✌️😎

Nice idea! Would you show us how to do it! I don’t know how to use and don’t have CAD program. Using old fashion newspaper way kinda satisfying :-)

Too much ads
Great commentary but really distracting music.
I just watched a sneaky ad for Samsung... please dont do that again.

This feels really off brand to me, and is simply an 8 minute advert for Samsung. I hope they paid well.
This channel feels like one big weird commercial.

This is more like an advertisement for samsung than it is a useful video, 😢
