      I think we all must accept that, we all gonna feel different about different things. The barometer then should probably be revenue.
      Using “Best Selling Rappers of All Time” one will find that the top three looks like this…
      1) Eminem
      2) Tupac
      3) Jay Z

    Eminem himself says that he owes it all to Dre. People try to use that to discredit eminem but he has never once said he'd be where he was regardless of Dre. Eminem still worked hard to get Dres attention in the first place and worked even harder to be consistently good for Dre too.

      Fu.k i was looking if anyone else noticed that.. great job 👏
      He evolved the phrase and made the rhyme scheme much more complex, even just with the pronouncion of the single syllables... this is a perfect example of the fact that yes, early Em was soo raw and ruthless a d maybe more Slim Shady THE ORIGINAL
      BUT........
      he has raised his pen and his ability to let those syllables do what the fu.k he wants them to do ant his ability to pronouncing things making them fit into the schemes, to a level of greatness that it's not far from being close to perfection IMO...

    I’ve read/heard countless studies and tons of research on common factors in the backgrounds of abusers, violent criminals, narcissist con artists etc, as well as interviewed hundreds of people about their own emotional issues, and not once have I heard Eminem’s name mentioned.
    …or Ozzy, or Elvis lol.
    (Remember, Elvis was “the devil” of his day! )
    Coincidentally, I have read and heard many times over people expressing what a positive influence artists like Eminem have been on their lives, how their music helped them through their own addictions or family struggles or loneliness, or inspired them in their own dreams, myself chief among them.
    Perhaps the most fascinating thing about Eminem is that the man behind the persona actually is a really good role model.

  • @whysoserious4434

      Hell no. I've loved every step of the journey. The skillset he showcases is phenomenal. Effortlessly, morfs from a court jester to poet to assassin at will. He has everyone & everything in his scope. The man's 50, he's done everything & the biggest complaint they have is the 50 yr old raps too fast, but sweatin' on that next album🤣

    • @miggs80
      @miggs80 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@flybrooks8628 I think the complaint about him rapping too good is valid as ridiculous as that sounds. The reason I say that is he’s so hyper focused on the complexity and difficulty of each bar being so technical that I feel the music itself has taken a backseat. The Eminem Show was the last album that I can just let play all the way through. His lyricism is still amazing but I’m not feeling his flow style or the songs as a whole that he does now personally.

    • @BucsFanO22
      @BucsFanO22 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@miggs80 While I do agree, I think more people need to understand that this happens with literally every artist in any genre. Everyone has a peak record or couple of records. It's usually after the first few albums come out and they find their own pocket, they put out a "master piece" record, then fall off a bit, due to age or a number of things. Again, this happens with just about every single artist. The ONLY reason some don't is because they stop early or die young. I can guarantee if guys like Pac and Biggie didn't die so young, they'd be looked at just like EM is these days. "He isn't as good anymore".
      Idk if you listen to other genres or anything, but a great example is Metallica. Their first 4-5 records are considered the pinnacle of thrash metal, with Master of Puppets being widely considered one of, if not the best/most influential metal album of all time. It's impossible to keep to that standard for 30 years. It just can't be done. So people like to say they just aren't good anymore. It's crazy. I'll genuinely never understand this mindset.

The songs got better overall as time went on, but he never captured the energy he had on the bars on the Slim Shady LP. “Me and Marcus Allen went over to see Nicole… we did it,” is so fucking genius, no one does it like him. You guys gotta do more slim shady LP and marshal mathers lp stuff like just don't give a f, Kill You, Criminal, etc. Imo that was the best time of his career by far. I don't know why it hits so hard but it's entertaining as f. I grew up on this version of Em so it's honestly hard for me to think of his Recovery era or modern era stuff as even being Eminem lol. He really is like a different person.

      Well he’s 50 now buddy. Do you think celebs don’t age? Sslp was what 25 years ago. Give Eminem a break man he’s matured a lot considering again, he’s 50!

    So many groups tried to cancel Em since his debut, church groups, parent groups, PTAs, school boards, city hall, Congress members of Congress, women's groups, LGBTQ groups and Gen Z to name a couple . Dre definitely gave Em his shot, Fat Joe and others had chances prior to Dre to sign EM, I think Em just needed the shot and when he got it he wasn't going backwards. 🔥 Guys, stay blessed

    I remember when this album came out I was in 8th grade and this was mind blowing to me, I listen to this album for a year straight I swear lol. Also this isn't his first album, he had Infinite before the Slim Shady LP but that was before Dre and he just tried to sell it out of his trunk basically, the title track off that album is good though for being something he did by himself before Dre.

    Cool that he used a bar you used but that's happened to me too lol both Wayne and Em and the funny thing is it's the same bar.
    The "Passing out like flyers" bars.... had a bar like that 10 years before Em brought that out and 5 years before Wayne did his. It's a weird feeling for sure.

    This is a Houdini Trick which foreshadows the new Album. He has had this whole Album progression in his head. He also mentioned Hitchcock before he made MTBMB. Em is Fire like Bowie and Reznor they all have Albums with themes, they don’t sound like the previous one but you can tell its them, and Bowie also had different Characters/Alter Egos. Trent pioneered doing Single releases with remixes and labelling them Halos like having something to go out and collect. There are 3 hardcore fanbases that boost reactors numbers and are various levels of intensity…Eminem, Tool, and NIN. I suppose if you want to include a pop star then Taylor Swift. Taylor has Karma coming for her if her Skeletons ever poke their Heads out. She manipulates her fans hardcore. Scooter Braun bought the rights to her Catalog and she acted like she had zero clue as if he betrayed her.😂 Her Father owned 15% of the Company if I’m not mistaken. She knew the whole time, it wasn’t a surprise, and he wasn’t holding anything hostage or controlling her. Vampire by Olivia Rodrigo is a diss to Taylor. I can’t wait till she gets humbled.

    I was a freshman when Em popped. Everyone was trying to blame him for everything bad that happened. Even picketed his albums and stores that sold it. I remember when I was 10 for my birthday, I got the Snoop, Doggystyle cassette. The rule was my mom or my sister had to clear any music or movies before I could see them. My sister said probably not, so my mom had the final say. I knew as soon as my mom put the headphones on, it was going to be a no.😂😂 Surprisingly, my aunt was there too that night and convinced my mom that if I could prove I knew the difference between music and real life, I could keep it. I am so thankful today my family always tried to keep me grounded in reality while simultaneously letting me have an imagination. I now do the same ish with my kids. Gotta keep the kids based in reality.

    Eminem's 1st (major album release so not "infinite" was the ""The Slim Shady LP" Is straight genius and I think is not only his best album But one of the greratest rap albums ever!. This album reminded me of, Nirvna "Never mind" NWA "straight outta Compton" Tupac's All Eyzs on me last one from my heart "Southernplayalistk" by Outkasr and Jay-Z "Reasonable doubt"....These are next level change music type projects! (you can inclunde Dre the chronic...) too many to count. But just albums that changed music forever!

      Agreed! Eminem changed the hip-hop industry with that first album. There are a long of hip-hop artist that wouldn't exist if this album didn't come out. Definitely one of the best albums of all times, and I can see why it would be someones number 1 album.

    Even in the slim shady era .. the albums had a good mix of song styles. You had a few like this, usually one or two about his love/hatred for women, one to his daughter, one to his parents. I would expect the same layout
