If you grew up in Philly and were a Sinatra fan, you knew Sid Mark! He was a legend with his Friday with Frank and Sunday with Sinatra programs.
In Philadelphia, and nationally for more than 60 years, Sid Mark carried the torch for great music, and for his friend Frank Sinatra.
This aircheck feature Sid Mark's tribute show, that aired after Sid's passing, on 1210 WPHT Philadelphia.

Nobody has a radio voice as smooth as Mr. Sid Mark. I remember all the years at WWDB with Friday with Frank and Sunday with Sinatra. There will never be another Sid Mark. I grew up with him in the 70's and early 80's when I lived in the Philly area. RIP Sid!

Such wonderful memories this brings back! My grandmother listened. My mother listened. And I listened too. Sid is truly missed, he was a radio legend and Mr. S. aficionado. Thanks for posting this.

RIP to a Philly broadcast LEGEND!!
Sid was a fabric of my childhood when I grew up in Philly and I'm 57 years old. From WHAT to WWDB to WPHT Sid Mark was a weekend institution from Fridays With Frank, Saturdays and Sundays with Sinatra almost every fan of music from the 40's throughout the 80's who listened to Big Band music listened to Sid's shows. Sid will always be remembered!

When I was a kid I listened every Saturday w Sinatra. I recorded many of them. Still have them today. Many years w Sid. Great memories.

Cleared Sid's syndicated Sounds of Sinatra on WKOS in Rochester, NH when it ran the AM Only format. What a great show and legendary broadcaster. Another recently-departed Philly legend, Bobby Rydell, voices a liner for the show at 7:34.

Any updates regarding the future of low rated 1210 am in Philadelphia that you can share ? If you have any info, let me know . I'm getting conflicting info on this station from people.
