Kasey didn't just SING this she LIVED it. Brilliant! When Kasey finally gets angry I had tears running down my face. First time I rally heard the lyrics so clear and with such emotion. I saw the emotion on your face too Rollen.... Another stunning artists from Australia.

I've been listening to Kasey for over 20 years (I'm an Aussie) & whilst a few of her songs have brought me to tears; this has made me want to stand up & just front up to the world with her, ya know? So empowering, Powerful, energy driven, she walked in with country, kicked open the door to rock & slammed the door closed at the end with metal & I loved it, every damned second of it. FYI, I detested the original, & E does not exist in my search engine or spotify, no. This version is for me now, even after loving her music for 20 years, is now in my top 3 of her songs. I've heard it over a dozen times this last week & each time I still get goosebumps & tears in my eyes at her power & devotion to the music, I doubt I will ever stop having that reaction.

My parents who were big into Australian country music met her parents who were country music entertainers many years ago when they were travelling around Australia. They were both travelling rural Australia in the same direction as my parents and they run into each other a number of times. Mum and dad both said they were really nice down to earth Aussies😊

It would be great for you and Angie to react to either Not Pretty Enough(2001) or Ain't No Little Girl(2017), or both; Kasey has struggled with acceptance by mainstream radio stations towards playing her music, and refusing to be pigeon-holed to just one style of music. Kasey will, when needed, introduce other genres into her music; and for her it works, as this reworking of Eminem's rap approach and making it her own song. The emotion in this version, completely changes the outcome; Eminem was more reactive, while Kasey was more emotive. Such is the difference between the original and her version, that she was given permission to upload this performance to Spotify in it's own right.
Rollen, one thing you can be sure of, their is no "Chrysler" sellout in this powerful woman. She may wear her heart on her sleeve but NOBODY "owns, or would ever own " Kasey. Thanks for an honest and heartfelt reaction mate

Hi Rollen Kasey is really great live. Don't know if you remember the Paolo Nutini songs you reacted to but I went to his concert here in Sydney last night and he was brilliant. He had an eight year hiatus and only released a new album last year. I'm off to see Buddy Guy tomorrow night. This is his last trip to Oz as he's in his late 80's. His concerts are always amazing and I'm soooooo ready for some live blues as I've basically self isolated for over 3 years terrified of Covid (as you know I've had other health issues) but guess what I still managed to get it 3 weeks ago so now know I'm safe and going to make up for lost time 💃🕺🎸🎷🎼🎶💋

Thanks for doing this one! This gives me chills every single time I hear it. Kasey is very under appreciated and needs to be recognised more on an international scale! Kasey is a master of storytelling, conveying lyrics and emotion! She is an icon in the Australian music industry, mostly for country and folk, but has her own style and is never afraid to delve into something outside the box. She is just getting better as she gets older. I really hope that Eminem has seen this and appreciates that his song and lyrics were re-imagined in such a spectacular way. I guess he has as he did give her permission to upload to Spotify etc. Would really like to hear what he thought about it though. Where else would you see banjo, pedal steel guitar and rock band together? Kasey started her solo commercial career around the same time as Eminem and she was a big fan of his music. Kasey spent lockdown playing around with some of her favourite songs and this version of Lose Yourself is the result. Brilliant! Kasey has spent her whole solo career bucking the constraints of the record companies and always gone her way. She made it to the top in Aussie music anyway with many awards, becoming the youngest ever ARIA Hall of Fame recipient. BTW….how was that for breath and vocal control? Not to mention the awesome arrangement. ❤ Also, that was Kasey’s Dad, Bill, on the steel guitar.
Personally, the reason this version of the song effects me so much is because Kasey does lose herself in the music, the moment. Emotionally powerful stuff. A testament to Eminem’s songwriting. ❤

Have you seen her interviewed as well. Watched one last week, she’s funny, smiling, honest and a real character, but definitely passionate about her music. Not to please others or ratings, because she’s just herself. Her upbringing was amazing, so unusual and she loved it 😊. We definitely have more than vegemite and spiders in Aus don’t we lol, some amazing talented people 👍

This has got to be the best cover of all time. She is a Bluegrass/Country singer in Australia. She took a 20 year old rap song, tore it to shreds, & made it her motherfucking own!!! The anguish in this performance is on another level! After touring with her family's The Dead Ringer Band from the age of 9, she went solo. Her debut album was critically acclaimed, yet radio staions wouldn't play her songs, so her early solo career mirrored Eminem's, which is why she chose this song. Her song, Am I Not Pretty Enough was her big fuck you to the radio stations. Ironically, it became her first hit, played on every radio station in the country. Youngest woman to be inducted into the Australian Recording Industry Association Hall of Fame. Now you understand why she feels this song?
Kasey is a huge Eminem fan & during the Covid conspiracy she spent the time in lockdown reworking this song. She sprung it on the audience. This video is the first time she performed this song.. After the response she got, she asked the audience members to send her the footage, that she compiled into this video. Eminem has heard it & granted her permission to add it to her Spotify.

Just isn’t flowing into a song for me AOAFEPO and I may have to just stay in the lounge today and deal with a mood adjustment. I’m sure she’d shine on an original.
