    Hi All, I own a Bullet Standard 500 & got my first service done.. There's a lot of pickup noise/slapping noise in the engine.. Is this common across all Standard 500 models or am I fooled by the service engineer?
    Also, will tuning of carburetor help solving the pickup noise issue?
    Help much appreciated.. Thanks in advance..

    Amazing man ! My carb achieves its highest rpm at 4 turns (8 half turns) and remains constant till 5 n a half turns (11 half turns) and 6 turns the rpms drop (12 half turns) so i generally keep it at 5 n a half turns(11 half turns) im definately gonna try 4 turns n see since thats where my bull achieves the sweet spot ill definately benifit on the average ill let u know after a week thanks for video mate . . . Amazing job 👍

    • @EnfieldPerformanceblogs

    • @darrencdias
      @darrencdias 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Enfield Performance man i tried the way u showed us in the video . . . and it turns out my carb achieves highest rpm at 6 half turns from fully closed position . . . it remains constant till 11 half turns and then at 12 half turns it drops and i have been setting it at 12 . . . but if i go with 6 the engines gets heated up too soon and it kinda runs outta juice while ripping it . . . i can climp uphill at 110kms per hr on 12 turns but cant cross 90 uphill on 6 turns

    • @darrencdias
      @darrencdias 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Enfield Performance i do know if that i will be missing out on the mileage if im.keeping it double than what the bull needs but im pretty happy with the performance and yea also the deep bass thump at 12 half turns is kinda amazing . . . so tried both ur way and my way but liking my way but did understood alot of basics via ur video really appreciate it man good job 👍

    tell me which tachometer are u using ? i guess this is the one which easily available in any shop and ebay. i question is what is the frequency of this tachometer. is it 8.333 hz or 16.66hz? it suppose to have 8.33 hz for single cylinder 4 stroke engine.

    • @EnfieldPerformanceblogs
      @EnfieldPerformanceblogs  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      No idea bro. I bought this tachometer from Karol Bagh. It connects to the alternator and gives out reading based on the number of sparks.

    • @abhitanshusoni
      @abhitanshusoni 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      does it give exact reading? what is the idling rpm u get?

    • @EnfieldPerformanceblogs

    • @EnfieldPerformanceblogs
      @EnfieldPerformanceblogs  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Rishi,
      I am afraid I don't understand your question. If you are asking whether you want to test it on different number of turns to check which on is best. yes you can try doing it. just don't ride too long. As a lean setting if ridden too long can harm the engine by heating it up and a rich setting can soot and foul up the spark plugs.

    • @rishikeshkumaran3437
      @rishikeshkumaran3437 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      just making a little adjustment towards aout beow half leaner can do harm.

    • @EnfieldPerformanceblogs
      @EnfieldPerformanceblogs  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      half a turn above the optimum setting should be fine. half a turn below the optimum setting if it is not heating the engine too much should also be good.

    Hi bro, I did this on my 1981 year RE bike. I got 2 complete revs in factory setting and I changed the revs to 1 and half by checking 4 times. Now, my bike performance increased. I have done this on 24th Dec and performance is good and went for a ride of 50kms. On 25th Dec I didn't ride my bike and while I starting my bike on Dec 26th, It's not starting. I turned the idle screw click-wise for acceleration and it started but, when ever I'm decelerating it is stopping. Smoke also coming more while accelerating. Previously, my bike is good with no defects. Could you help me ASAP?

    • @EnfieldPerformanceblogs
      @EnfieldPerformanceblogs  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nagaraju Nag hi nagaraju, during winters most bikes will stop while idling as engine does not heat up properly. easiest solution is to just increase the idling. However in case smoke is coming out it means your bull is running rich. You can try resetting to old factory setting or retune the carb for the winter setting the same way.

    • @Razerback56
      @Razerback56 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I thought something bad going to happen to my bike but, restored with factory setting. After few days I'll try again the above method you showed. Can you tell me how many revolutions we have to turn the idle screw ?
      Thanks, helped a lot ;)

    • @Razerback56
      @Razerback56 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@vickyvinay23 You should remember the screws position before changing the position of it. This helps to fix when there’s any issue with the performance or mileage. If you don’t remember then take it to a good mechanic and he will solve the issue.

    Hi.,Could you please share some info on how you managed to hook up the tach.Ive been trying to do one., but it was never perfect.

    • @EnfieldPerformanceblogs
      @EnfieldPerformanceblogs  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi anant , my tachometer is connected to the alternator. Since alternator gives out a spark for every rotation of the engine by measuring the spark you can measure the rpm. Any competent auto electrician should be able to hook it up.

    is this adjustment is enough for leh ladakh trip. is same for all bike (I means all brands)

    • @EnfieldPerformanceblogs
      @EnfieldPerformanceblogs  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Vignesh, for leh ladakh this setting would work out. in case you feel hiccups on the mountains you can choose to make it half turn leaner. This video I mainly aimed at Bullet however if you get the concept you can apply to any carbureted motorbike.

    Do i need to change my carb jets for a free flow silencer? Ive installed greasehouse megaphone silencer and the engine misfires sometime... So can i use the same method as shown in ur video?

    • @EnfieldPerformanceblogs
      @EnfieldPerformanceblogs  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sandesh kini The misfiring in free flow silencers happens due to EGR pipe. It is specially pronounced when you are down throttling. The easy solution is to block the EGR pipe as mentioned in the usage tips in the blog

      Can you please confirm after effect on blocking/closing the ERG. Also Today i was trying to block but the hole is too big to be blocked by ball baring. Can you give some light. Or tomorrow i will be using close head nut to block it. Need info if there is any issue after closing it. I have STD 500 Mash grey model. Also i have order tachometer from Enfieldzone. can you share detail video on connection. if you can share via whatsaap will be good, i believe edinting video will take time 7303423456.

    • @EnfieldPerformanceblogs

      Sandesh kini Hi bro if you do not have ball bearing you can even bloxk with a nut no issues. it will stop the misfires.

    • @EnfieldPerformanceblogs
      @EnfieldPerformanceblogs  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sandesh kini Hey bro. this method wont stop misfires. your bullet is misfiring as ur silencer is free flow and does not create enough back pressure for the EGR to work properly. you will need to bloxk the EGR with a ball bearing or nut for it to stop misfiring

Just note the thread as shown in the video and in case you want to be extra careful mark one of the knobs of the idle screw with a marker. Then start the engine and turn the idle screw Eicher till the engine stops stalling at idle.

      @PareshVaktania 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      bro i have tuned the engine but now want to set the idle rpm so i got a tach hour meter...
      what it should be set on the tachometer like 01 RPM or 02 RPM ????
      its a CL350cc single cylinder 4 stroke twinspark
      01 for (spark plug fires twice per revolution)
      02 (once per revolution)
      03 (every other revolution)
      04 (hour only will not display rpm)
      the default for the sandard model is 02 (once per revolution)
      i am confused on what to set it 01 or 02 ?

    • @EnfieldPerformanceblogs
      @EnfieldPerformanceblogs  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Paresh Vaktania It is 02. Though even without tachometer you can set idle. Just keep turning it till you fell the engine is about to stall. stop right there and the idle is set.
