I feel sorry for Aer Lingus crew. It's hard to do your job right when you are given sub standard equipment to do it on regularly. I used to love flying with this airline but increasingly, I just dont think that would be the case. There are a host of US airlines flying into Dublin and AL is usually dearer than them. I dont think I'd be paying anything extra for this type of service. They are putting a lot of new A321's on too, which doesn't really appeal to me either. Everything just seems to reek of cost cutting except their fares.
So do I, this is what I said to the cabin crew, it's not fair that they should be them in this position which is quite clearly the line of fire for so many disgruntled people. The economy class had no entertainment at all on the way back, I felt sorry for the parents who had a 9 hour flight if they had no entertainment for the kids... Let's hope they sort it out soon! I am so disappointed because I really wanted this to be a nice video of a positive, fun experience in the lovely throne chair... never mind! Thanks for watching and thanks for the comment :-D
Bit late when seeing this video, then this comment, but I had the experience of flying on a A321neo to Toronto going back two years, in business, it was a great experience with a fresh cabin but I cant get behind a transatlantic flight on a narrow body, it was way too cramped for eight hours and it just seems to be their attempt at cutting costs alright.
I have a flight booked in their business class later this year and really hope i'm not getting that old thing at the last moment. i booked a single seat on the left and would not be looking forward to having to step over another passenger. in fact i'd rather have an aisle seat in the middle then.
You've done a great video, I sincerely thank you for that, and explained exquisitely to never, ever fly with Aer Lingus. I didn't expect much and you totally satiated my lack of expectation. Even the airport lounge was totally crap. You mentioned the crew not being particularly nice - that's a sign of an airline going nowhere fast. For a proper experience you've got to look at airlines like Emirates, other middle east airlines and far east like Singapore.
I really hope to experience both Emirates and Singapore airlines soon. I am next flying with JAL which I have heard are excellent, so I am looking forward to that! I'll be posting the flight on here in around April time :-) Thanks so much for the comment and for watching!
Have you guys heard Aer Lingus will be starting a new regional airline in 2025? The past VP, George Cunna has bern instrumental in getting this project off the ground, so to speak. Right now one of the major hold-ups on this project is what the name of the regional airline will be. Mr. Cunna seems dead-set on calling it Cunna Lingus Airlines but the majority of the board members have protested against having that name and no one seemd to be able to figure out why.😢
At around 12:31 when the touch screen announced "Hello, what would you like to do today?" A good answer would have been to get off this crummy airplane and get a full refund, for starters, bloke. 😂
These aircraft are getting refitted at the moment so hopefully you can try them again with their proper business class, Aer Lingus will also have a new business class next year

It’s a shame. I flew on that exact same aircraft. I was in business class too but on the left side of the plane & my seat/screen worked fine. I think the return flight the Flight map didn’t work. Now I am trying out British Airways and Air France instead. Other than that a great video I hope you enjoyed your time nonetheless 😊

I flew British Airways in February and returned with food poisoning and I had no in-flight entertainment or window on that flight haha, my flights to Orlando were a little rough last year! I was speaking to a chap in Dublin who flew for work weekly all over the world and he said Air France was his favourite to fly with! Next I'm headed to Japan with JAL which I hear amazing things about. Thanks for the comment and watching :-D
Thanks for your report. There are many issues about your video. The worst is that your special meal was not on board. In one thing I don't agree with you: It could not bee EI-EIN. This plane was the last A330 ever produced and delivered to Aer Lingus in 2020, so this plane is rather new. This plane was also never on the Orlando Route in November as described. So from the short view in the Business Class it must be the A330-200 (only 5 business class rows, the 300 version has 6 rows and at the right end a single seat not a double). I guess really it was the 22 years old A330-200 EI-GEY, formerly used by Qatar Airways and switched to Aer Lingus in 2018. So I guess they installed some old business class seats into that aircraft. I agree it is always a problem when they are operating with some different products.
@@DansQuestNest yep long overdue, I've not flown on it myself or it's older sister EIK but it's well know within the Irish aviation community and EI how they badly need to be addressed.

That aircraft is the ex Qatar 330 that hasn’t been refitted yet
