literally me this year, i modded my 3ds a while back and installed a gimped version of PRboom on it and was like im gonna beat doom 2 before the end of the year and i was battling the icon of sin about 15 minutes before the ball drop

It's an issue with the game's status bar's code. Some ports fix this to make it work as intended, so it appears everytime you lose 20 or more HP with a single hit.

i swear, i turned this on mainly for background noise and didn't notice it was a tas from the title. as i'm typing on my other monitor, i look over and see him playing, think nothing of it. finally look back and realize it's a tas. zero master is literally so skilled that i could be shown tas gameplay and think it's him.
Almost! Running against enemies is weird in Doom. When running against a wall your speed and momentum (usually) completely dies, but when running against an enemy, your position can remain the same but the game keeps building up your momentum. Even while Doomguy stays in the same spot, the game think he's going really fast. So, as soon as the enemy moves out of the way or dies (in this case, it died), you start moving at full speed because you spent a bit of time building up momentum. He had enough speed to jump through a window in this case.
with fast speed you can bump into wall and go several pixels into it before engine calculation send you back... mostly used to grab key through wall, in this case switch is visible so he can use it. (at least i think it is this case)
9:25 I could never pull off E2M6 void glide, that shit is next level. So it is theoretically possible to get out of void? E1M8 void glide would be possible in non-TAS run?
The e1m8 void glide is used in the individual level run already but doing it non-tas in a movie would be crazy as it requires a monster to be positioned perfectly so you can use it to boost yourself, but who knows maybe someone can find a setup for it.
Big whoop. I beat Doom 2 on nightmare in 12:45, a week after the game came out. I would have thought that by now, plenty of other people would have beaten my time... never imagined it would take 24 years. I guess gamers today are just a little "slower" than they used to be.

The glitch is that it was programmed wrong in the original Doom, so you never see it in that game. It's fine in Doom II and you see it all the time.

Nirvana is far from the worst level in my opinion. Don't get me wrong, it's still Terrible, but not quite as bad as some of MAP10-20

I don’t understand the trick used to complete Dead Simple without killing anything. But damn. This is pure insanity. Well done!! I’ve beaten this game countless times but t never looks like this!!
What makes this even more insane is that it could be improved upon. This could SOMEHOW get better.
Can somebody please explain to me what he did at 13:05 on map 29 living end ??? He did some weird rocket jump to the other side of the map to those stairs at the end of the level ? How ??? I am struggling to beat this on nightmare for the Xbox One I’m trying to get that achievement !!!
