For anyone wondering why no air escaped after the nail was pulled out is because run flat tires have a very stiff and strong side wall which keeps the tire from flattening
I work at a tire shop, the reason no air "escaped" is because it's already flat, the walls are thick and stronger to keep it from riding on the "rim"wheel the tire will not have air in it after the first leak, some have a layer of foam/ tar in the inside to stop it from leaking and sleals up but after time that hardens and doesnt do its job, also you can see thar the side wall is slightly buldged already meaning its already "flat"

Runflat tyres only work for ao long before the sidewall gives up. Its for emergency use. Its main purpose is so if you get a puncture you can drive to your nearest garage. What they dont tell you is that you cant have only 1. You either have to buy 2 or 4. Theyre more expensive than regular tyres and hardly last any longer
The same goes for all tires. They won't sell you just one unless the axle you are placing it in has another brand new tire on it. It ruins the alignment and causes other issues with the vehicle.
Anyone thats ever fitted run flats will tell you that the hole in the tyre bears no relevance to you being able to continue driving. Its the strength in the sidewalls of the tyre itself. Once deflated you'll still damage the tyre irreparably, but they're designed for you to be able to get to a garage/safe place etc
The only benefit I could think of is if you get a flat on the interstate you could drive to the next exit, but would a run flat even survive a blowout at 70mph?
Run Flats suck because they run so incredibly rough due to them being so stiff it's like running on a car with no sidewall so your suspension has to do all the work of absorbing impacts on the road and it makes it go more into you they are also insanely expensive
Normally they are between 30$ to 50$ more expensive than equivalent regular tires. At least the Pirelli and Bridgestone. Also the new generation of runflat tires have a much better ride than the old ones.

Run flat tires have been around a long time. One time i was on the highway going 70+ for 45 minutes before it finally came off the rim. I never even knew it was flat. Apparently it was already flat when i left my house.
Tyre didn't become flat, it was already flat... There was no air in it to begin with because that's just part of the technology, although the demonstration is utterly pointless and misleading because this isn't how RunFlat Tyres work... RunFlat Tyres have a hardened sidewall which is more rigid and can hold the weight of the car for an extended period without the air pressure keeping it inflated... This is only a temporary feature they provide however and once punctured they will lose air like any normal tyre; they just remain more solid under load because of the strengthened sidewall, allowing the vehicle to continue driving with below average or zero air pressure inside of the tyre. They can typically only cover a safe working distance of between 30 to 50 miles on zero air pressure and continued use will eventually rip them to shreds just like driving on any flat tyre. Once punctured they are generally also not safe to repair because of the way they are compounded, although it's entierly up to any garage to make that decision if they want to risk trying to do a repair on the tyre or not... Overall, this video is a complete farce and that tyre driving over multiple nails means nothing in the grand scheme of things, because it is still punctured and would have deflated if it had air inside of it to begin with and is now a scrap tyre.
Instead of fighting each other why don't we come together to create tyres like this, and explore the galaxy and the oceans in united effort as mankind.
I will post some information abou this. These tires are filled with foam. These type of tires are used in construction sites where random nails on the road. A few minutes to change the tires means theres downtime which becomes major delay in finishing time. The foam comes in a liquid form and after being filled it get solidified. And no you should not use these type of tires with your general vehicles as foam tires can not operate at high rmp.
Years ago, Uniroyal had tires called "Nailgaurds" the inside was a 1/2 gel adhesive inside. So if you ran over a nail, you could pull it out, and it would seal itself. They balanced like shit but, it was a good idea.
TRUE STORY: my dad worked in the tire business and told it to me --> A guy invented a tire that 1. run like 90k-100k kilometers 2. did not lose it's necessary elasticity within 4-5 years - promoted the tire in the early 80's. 3. was offered a shit ton of Money from Continental for that Patent. 4. refused to sell the Patent and 5. Fun fact: Chinese online shopping platforms are full of genius experiments like this to prove the product quality😊
I have Bridgestone run-flat tires and they'll go about 60 miles before sidewalks collapse
I have these on my car the downside is you get a rough ride
Anyone thats ever fitted run flats will tell you that the hole in the tyre bears no relevance to you being able to continue driving. Its the strength in the sidewalls of the tyre itself. Once deflated you'll still damage the tyre irreparably, but they're designed for you to be able to get to a garage/safe place etc
From personal experience, run flat tires are a complete waste of money.
No space for a spare in my mini
The only benefit I could think of is if you get a flat on the interstate you could drive to the next exit, but would a run flat even survive a blowout at 70mph?
@@drunk_by_noon9231 they won't blow out, they can completey support your car
Like why buy runflats that cost thausonds to replace when u can just buy a manual Air pump and a tire repar kit for 50 dollars combined
And with runflats u need to stay at a hotel while u wait for a new wheel to come
Need those tires for my wife's car. Lol
Indian farmers Need this kind of tire.
And what about peaceful community 😂😂
Run Flats suck because they run so incredibly rough due to them being so stiff it's like running on a car with no sidewall so your suspension has to do all the work of absorbing impacts on the road and it makes it go more into you they are also insanely expensive
Don't confuse people with facts.
Yeah, but when you want to get away from the cops or military they’re great
@@texaswunderkind truth hurts
Normally they are between 30$ to 50$ more expensive than equivalent regular tires. At least the Pirelli and Bridgestone.
Also the new generation of runflat tires have a much better ride than the old ones.
They do get flat but wont get destroy as you drive down the road to a near tire shop. A normal tire will get torn apart
En el pasado las gomas eran así. Duraban una eternidad. Las tuve en mi primera bicicleta. Nunca se vaciaban. Dejaron de hacerlas porque no es negocio.

I could use this tires for my get away car 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Run flat tires have been around a long time. One time i was on the highway going 70+ for 45 minutes before it finally came off the rim. I never even knew it was flat. Apparently it was already flat when i left my house.

Yeah, it’s the same system that we use in mountain bikes in tubeless tires for high performance bikes
can i ask why?
There is a layer of Polymer memory rubber inside.
@@SResourcesDockingwhat brand of tyres is this ?
Still looked dead flat after 😂😂😂
Big tire will remember this. Count your days, write your will.
Most manufacturers already sell these
Boss: alright I want y’all to fill this tire up with 100% fix a flat no air just fix a flat
Where not dumb we see the tire becoming flat
Overall, this video is a complete farce and that tyre driving over multiple nails means nothing in the grand scheme of things, because it is still punctured and would have deflated if it had air inside of it to begin with and is now a scrap tyre.
...run....flat...

The run flat tires I’ve seen before are tubeless. The tread is on almost a spring support.
Instead of fighting each other why don't we come together to create tyres like this, and explore the galaxy and the oceans in united effort as mankind.

Is it a thickened tire wall and a tire connection?
These are foam tires, they are excellent. No more blow outs or flats. They will put tire companies out of business though
Tire companies will start searching for a hit man.
The downside of run flat tyres is they ruin the ride comfort
The first lightbulb invented is still on 😂
Very good job, how can they find the tire of the motorcycle
"commited suicide" just 3 month later" - the Formular was "unfortunatly lost" afterwards...
