thanks for the in depth video, really helped me install mine rather than paying someone to do it, the only one i could find on youtube, really like the locks so far just finished installing mine, the screws they come with really need to be uptgraded as luckily i watched your video first so got some new screws. Very well done and thanks for the helpful video
You should use the mortise lock that came with the smart handle. Chineese mortise locks are special in that the lock when you move the handle upwards, the one you allready had installed on the door does not do that, the door is never really locked, it is only using the upper latch.
@HooverLux the handle inside not being locked is a vulnerability, as it's possible that the door could be opened by pulling the inside handle down through the letter box. As there is no deadbolt as a backup for this possibility, so they're in.
It's a smart looking lock. Are you able to retain the original eurolock or are you only able to use the lock that is supplied with the smart lock? If the latter, how secure is the key? How many tumblers in the lock, how many key differs etc? I see this being the locks weakness as the security rating of chinese locks are unknown and unlikely to be recognised or approved by insurance companies. You demonstrated operating the lock via tag and fingerprint, is this necessary as surely it will operate automatically using bluetooth? What is the effective range of bluetooth operation? An interesting and informative video.
You have to use the key barrel and you could also use all the rubbings it comes with. The lock comes with one tumbler. I did contact our house insurance provider and they said the lock was fine. you have to be within a few feet of the lock to use the Bluetooth, but there is no automatic unlock for proximity, we have 4 deadbolts around the door so when you lock it the 4 deadbolts also lock into place when you turn the handle up, but to be honest how safe is any door. I would advise using the locks and barrels and everything it came with, but because it would be a hassle to do that with mine I would recommend getting someone to fit it and someone who can change the door holes etc so you can fit the one it comes with.
Funny you should comment, I just changed the batteries yesterday 🤣. Still absolutely fine and having the little hub makes it even easier to unlock the door for family if in another room or outside
I want to replace battery but it turns out to be a pain! I took the screw out and then I can’t seem to be able to remove that metallic cover… do I need a sucker?
No one can add mine unless I give specific permission and you only need the gateway for remote access. You can still use the app when you are 1m max away from the door.
Yea ots weird as when I lift handle the top and bottom hook engages but to engage the middle catch I need to use key I think this will only work if everything engages at once
In that case you will have to use the lock and barrel that came with the door handle, I was lucky mine didn’t, but my sister had the same issue and they couldn’t use the one it came with so had to send it back.

You’re absolutely welcome my friend.
Great video - also love your front door colour, reminds me of the TARDIS
Oh yeah! I hadn’t thought of that, the garage doors match, so now Everytime I use them I’m gonna think of that and laugh 🤣
Wow love it Mr lux its proper fancy 👍
I really like it, don’t have to keep searching for a key when the post man knocks twice 🤣

I was thinking the same thing when I installed it, but there are 6 deadbolts around the door that lock in place once the handle is pushed up.

Is the key not useful anymore as you have taken out the barrel? The door looks less secure with it only being held on the latch.
I see what you mean but when the handle of the door is lifted up, 6 deadlocks engate around the door.
Informative video... how is the lock 9 months later?

You can use the sucker it came with or remove the screw and use a toothpick to pull off the cover from the screw hole.
Hi, so what was the size of the top screw you used? Thread size and length?
Absolutely no idea, I just went to garage and got a load of random bolts and used the one that fitted
Ok, no worries @@HooverLux
Which barrel did u use? 1 which came with the lock or your old 1
I didn’t reuse the old barrell, the hole is still there unused.
@@HooverLux can i send u pics of my door just to confirm if they are the same door as urs?
Can anyone add your lock to their app. And do you need the gateway to use the app?

@@HooverLux Where's the reset button? Can anyone reset it from outside
Nice video. Does it work with Apple HomeKey?
I’ve looked into it and so far no, I can’t find how to and even if you can.
@@HooverLux thanks. I read a review on Amazon, and the reviewer said they use their Apple Watch with this.
Smart minds think alike. Lol 😂. We just installed smart door locks as well and why didn’t I do the video on them. Hmm 🤔 These locks look nice.
Next time! 🥰
Does it engage your 5 points
Yes it does, all the bolts around the door slide into place when I lift the door handle up
@@HooverLux my lock has like a separate barrel that can't use this lock with

Nice idea , but you have successfully made that door much less secure, Bluetooth and RFID is easily hacked. Been there done that👎
I know what you mean, but we have a full security system of alarms, cameras and sensors, if they want in, they’ll always find a way unfortunately
