Thanks Mark for the nice video. I am testing this for my back door. From the inside I can engage and disengage but from the outside I can engage but not disengage. Is there a problem or this can be explained?
Personally, I prefer the Aqara, from a usability standpoint this is largely because it includes Apple HomeKey, in addition to that because you use your existing cylinder (or a new cylinder if you need to purchase a compatible one) then it's more secure than the Simpled which doesn't have any security accreditations for the physical lock itself
Hi Mark - thanks for the very helpful videos. I actually just bought this lock, but wasn't able to correctly install it on my door. We have a multi point door handle, but the lock is engaged separately from the handle. So when you lift the handle up, it only engages 2 little hinges in the door but not engage the actual cylinder lock. The lock engages only if I rotate the knob from inside or the key from the outside. I presume I made a mistake and this lock won't work for my door? Perhaps I need the Simpled Leverline? Can you please advise. Your guidance is much appreciated!
I have the same set up as you, my main door lock is engaged using the key, the other locks by pulling the door handle up. Anyone managed to confirm whether this is OK for the smart lock or not? thanks
@ unfortunately the Simpled won’t work for you. You’ll have to get a retrofit smart lock, I ended up going with the Switchbot Lock Pro - it’s effectively a fancy rotating device that replaces the key/thumbturn on your lock. It works well for me overall but the issue is sometimes it gets jammed if you don’t lift the handle up properly as it can’t lock otherwise. If you want a proper smart lock like the Simpled, you’ll have to change the entire locking mechanism in your door, which is quite expensive. I checked with multiple locksmiths, a lot of them didn’t even quote me for it and the one who did quoted around 700€.
I' ve just had the answer from support for anyone who's in the same boat as me: "you could install the Slim series. But please bear in mind that these locks can only operate the bolts that are engaged by lifting the handle and they cannot operate those engaged by the key"
@@d05music17 That's what I am saying as well. You cannot use Simpled if you need to turn the key to engage the lock. You can only use it if lifting up the handle engages the lock, and the key is simply locking the handle.
@@anuragbansal368 Did you find any alternative that can deal with dual locking mechanism? Or did you just keep it as is and happy with the level of security? thanks
Hi Mark, Thank you for this very helpful and detailed video explaining how to install this smart lock to a multipoint lock door. I would have returned the unit, had I not known you could get an extension cable. I have just emailed them, hopefully they will respond quickly.
Hi Mark. Thank you for your useful demonstration. My door has lock on the right hand side and hinges on the left. Are those handled reversible?. Can I install this lock on the right edge of the door? Many thanks.
I have tried and tested: 1. Simpled Smart Lock 2. Switchbot Lock Pro 3. Nuki 3, Nuki 4 and Nuki 4 Pro 4. LOQED Touch 5. Aqara U200 Out of those, I use the U200 and Switchbot Lock Pro daily (front and back door) but did have a Nuki 3/4 Pro on my front door for a combined 1.5 years. Some of the above have been sent to me to review others I have purchased...the backdoor is usually the one I use to test new ones out on as it doesn't matter quite so much if it goes wrong! (Thankfully nothing has yet!)
Hi There I would like to order the smart lock, but i am wonder will it fit for the foront door, i have a mulit-point lock in the front door, which is a wood door
I think it will fit but you may have to drill some more holes. If you contact Simple’s support they will be able to help more and tend to reply pretty quickly
Hi Mark, what I want to know but you didn't explain is, how does this lock from inside? Does it lock automatically or do you need the app? If it locks automatically is there a way to leave it open?
From the outside the lock is basically always locked because the handle is detached. If you want to leave it open from both sides there is a mode for that. From the inside you can always just pull the handle down to leave, no need to unlock just open the door
@@MarksTechVlogsyes I can only pull the handle up from inside to lock the door , but when I try to lock before leaving by pulling the handle up it doesn’t lock

So the outside handle only becomes active once you've unlocked it, so if you use your fingerprint you should then find the outside handle is active.
Thanks Mark. Great video. Based on your experience, which one do you prefer Aqara U200 or this simpled that look sleek and nice

Remember kids: if you've not lifted the handle, the door isn't locked!

Yes, the handles are reversible so it’ll work for you 😀
You must have missed 4:05 in the video.

@@MarksTechVlogs Do you suggest SImpled or the Nutrion ?
Personally, I think the ultion Nuki, Nuki or switchbot lock pro are better because they’re more secure and Apple HomeKit/matter compatible

Mark is exactly right here, however we do also sell a double sided slim series, which can be locked from both sides!

Ah, so pulling up from outside doesn’t engage the multi points? You might need to get in touch with Simpled’s support
Amazing… thank you
