It’s been a pleasure to be a viewer for the last 9 years. I too love the thoughtfulness and attention to detail in all that you do. It is that perseverance that shows in the finished projects. Thank you for deciding to podcast!❤
Poprocks so awesome idea. And yes a good why to use speckeled yarn. In love with your version. Cable cardigan omw it a masterpiece Your mother pullover sweater so so pretty Thanks to a dear friend my first watch of your podcast and a wonderful Testknit
Thanks so much! I will consider grading the pattern to those sizes as well. The appealing thing about the 4-5 size as the largest size is that it can still be knit with one skein of fingering weight plus a contrast color. I often find it a bit difficult to get test knitters for the larger children's sizes and do like to ensure every size is test knit before publication
Yay😊 Congratulations Maria (I followed you when you were in Stockholm. Then my phone died and I lost you somehow😢 I found you again🎉🎉🎉) ❤️ ♥️ ❤ Happy me😊
Congratulation on 9 years and 100 episodes! Have followed you since the start, always a pleasure ❤️ also, not to be a knowitall, bur arwetta is in fact a merino yarn. Love it for babys and kids clothes too, because of its softness.
Your white cardigan is beautiful! I do remember the little gearts sweaters, unfortunately my kids are young adults now... I love my Kielo dress! You could make the peg legs with maternity add on by patterns for pirates instead of tights...
Thank you! The peg legs pattern with a maternity adjustment is a good alternative :) I guess I am less inclined to be making maternity-specific items right now seeing as this is likely our last baby but if I were to go back 5 years from now I wish I had made more maternity things haha oh well!
Hi Maria, I can’t believe it has been 9 years. I remember the first podcasts you published and I was always amazed by your eye and skill for finishing details in both your knitting and sewing. A jumpsuit you may want to try sewing is the Zadie by Paper Theory. A lot of sewers have made it and their web site says you can make it in a knit fabric. It’s one that may be similar to your RTW one or can be adapted to pregnancy. Thanks for all the inspiration and the Aspen cardigan and Eira hat are on my short list. Happy Anniversary and enjoy your time with your parents.
Thank you :) I've actually made the Zadie before (twice!) in woven fabric. Maybe I should try that on and see! I can definitely imagine it would be super comfortable in a knit... Lots of options to consider
I thought I started very early in your podcast journey. I just looked back and found I have 23 new- to -me episodes to enjoy. Best to you in your next 100 episodes. Deb from Florida
Thanks again for another great episode. I, too, am knitting a Michelle Wang cardigan (😢Fairfield). I think her esthetic is both classic and elegant. Your Aspen is spectacular! I loved hearing you call your mother “Mormor” as that is what my granddaughters call me! 😊
Do you have a Scandinavian background? maybe you already know this but mormor means "mother's mother" just as morfar (grandpa) means "mother's father" I agree! Michelle Wang's designs are exquisite
@@StitchedinSweden Yes, I do have a a Swedish background. My grandfather was born in Sweden and immigrated to the US as a young man. I still have 2nd cousins in Sweden and have a been lucky enough to visit them and see the home he and his brothers built for their parents (my great grand parents). I did know the man of mormor and chose it accordingly. Now my son is getting married and if he has children someday, I’m hoping it is not confusing to be a farmor to some grandchildren and a mormor to others! Maybe I’ll cross that bridge when I get there! LOL! 🤗
Wow, nine years is quite a run! Lovely cables on your natural cardigan. Pop Rocks looks perfect for little girls! Sewing is a solitary activity. Yep, you don’t seem like a scrappy blanket person. Enjoy your knitting and sewing! I think I have been watching your videos the whole time!
Thank you for a nice Time Tidan. Congratulation for your pregnancy. I Very much likes the jumper you knitted to your mother. I will look for your next time.
Yay for another wonderful podcast! I have two granddaughters, aged 2.5 and 3. I could test that new dk child’s sweater you’ve designed for Eloise if you’d like:-). Gillian in Canada 🇨🇦
Would you mind going into your tubular cast on a bit more please? Do you do the provisional co for the total amount of stitches if you start with your k1 p1 right away? Thanks Congrats on nine years and thank you for that! You’re the only TH-camr I’ve stayed with!🙂
Oh thank you so much for watching! I use the italian cast on method which is a cast on that starts with the "real yarn" directly. If I'm working in the round I will typically k1p1 row flat first to establish the pattern because I find it difficult to join in the round without twisting if I join in the round directly. After the first row I will join in the round and then use my yarn tail to sew up the tiny jog created from doing the first row flat. If I'm knitting flat for the project then yes, I do the italian cast on and then start with k1p1 directly and continue as such. Hope that helps
Thanks for the suggestion! Oh she does have some lovely patterns :) I probably should have sewn some maternity clothes when I was pregnant with my first daughter so that I could have gotten some more use out of them. I'm a bit hesitant to sew for maternity now that there are only a few months left... maybe I should just get over that and do it anyway!
I learned to knit in my first year of university when I was home for fall break. My mom's friend taught me :) I wanted to knit socks so that was the first project I did!
If I have the correct color thread in my sewing machine I usually do them there, but I think I would actually recommend doing them by hand. Sometimes the hand knit fabric tends to get a bit eaten by the machine (especially if you don't have a ballpoint needle) and that can be quite terrifying! Honestly I only add labels if the sweaters are for my daughters (it is required at school) or if the back and front are difficult to distinguish.
maria, you continue to gobsmack! somehow, it's not hard to envision you as a fine artist. ooh, your aspen - with a shawl collar. what a stellar knit maria - your daughters will fight over who ultimately gets it. (i have sooo many of my mothers' treasured hand knits, though i will say that my older sister has my mothers' aran cardi, yellowed with age, and i still covet it). your mom looks like someone i'd like to know, and so, you get your curly hair from your dad? another gorgeous sweater, where do you get the time maria? and a hat. nice box work. yes, pop rocks, so aptly named! kinda want to taste it, it's so yummy looking! box o' yarn yes! black jumpsuit looks great on you - yes make one; the olive fabric will look great. went over to hovenweep yesterday to check out some ruins i helped to stabilize, in the *60F* degree weather! such a delightful, but weird january out here in the west. happy 9th and 100th maria! i always look forward to seeing what you have accomplished and in store for us to see - thanks best health wishes to you - libby
Hi Libby, so nice to hear from you again. I hope some day my daughters will wear my sweaters too :) I love seeing their excitement when their mamma has made them something new so I'm holding on to that while it lasts. Both of my parents have curly hair actually! My mom just tends to blow dry hers to be more straight so the curl doesn't come through as much... Thank you so much for your kind words and support as always -Maria
Yup, been here from the very beginning and not going away. You inspire me incredibly Maria, thank you from the bottom of my heart!! 💕💕💕hugs, Judy
Hi Judy! Thanks for your sweet comment :) I'm so happy to inspire you and thank you for watching

Thank you so much for watching!!
Nine years - I’ve seen all of the episodes, too! Thanks for taking the time to put together such informative videos.
Aww thank you for watching and I'm glad you like them!
Wow…. Nine years! I’ve been with you from the beginning. One of my favorite patterns of yours is Ria.I’ve made it many times
Wow, thank you! It is so lovely to hear from longtime viewers :) I also love the Ria. I might need to make it again for baby #3
Poprocks so awesome idea. And yes a good why to use speckeled yarn. In love with your version.

Your mother pullover sweater so so pretty

I can’t believe it has already been 9 years 😮. I really like the pop rocks sweater. I would love to have a pattern size 6-7 and 8-9.
Thanks so much! I will consider grading the pattern to those sizes as well. You're totally right hahah it says it right there on the label. I'm blaming pregnancy brain ;) Thanks for watching

Hi Deb, Thanks for watching! I do hope you enjoy those older episodes but I can't promise anything about the quality haha
Grattis med 9 år 🎉 Har fulgt deg siden starten, og liker videoene dine veldig godt 😊
tack så jättemycket :)
Happy Anniversary!!!! 🎉

Hi Gillian! Ooo thanks for the offer! I will send you an email with the pattern shortly :)
Have you thought of making bib and braces with the fabric? I live them and they are soooo comfy, fat or thin xxx
That is another idea! I haven't really considered this because I don't have a pattern at the moment. Do you have a favorite?
Would you mind going into your tubular cast on a bit more please? Do you do the provisional co for the total amount of stitches if you start with your k1 p1 right away? Thanks

Megan Nielsen Patterns has Maternity Patterns you might like. ❤

How did you learn to knit, Maria? I am curious how people learn their crafting skills Thank you😊
I learned to knit in my first year of university when I was home for fall break. My mom's friend taught me :) I wanted to knit socks so that was the first project I did!
Wow What an achievement!!
How do you add your labels in your knits…by hand or machine
If I have the correct color thread in my sewing machine I usually do them there, but I think I would actually recommend doing them by hand. Sometimes the hand knit fabric tends to get a bit eaten by the machine (especially if you don't have a ballpoint needle) and that can be quite terrifying!
