    i’m an attorney and i’m shocked at this trial. the judge is overwhelmed and so is the jury.
    if any conviction comes, he has to throw it out. kyle should never spend a day in jail.

      @@KayInMaine I'm not condoning it, but lawyers are immune in such cases while they are in the courthouse. I've heard that the judge allowed it because he did nothing that was against the rules. The judge, however, should have stopped it because the lawyer didn't check the firearm himself. It was negligent on his part and is very much the same way Alec Baldwin killed Halyna Hutchins.

      I agree, and I think the judge is determined to see that a jury verdict is respected. In that, he's engaged in wishful thinking. If Kyle is found not guilty the judge will be branded by the left as a white supremicist. If Kyle is found guilty the judge will be called gutless by the right. The sad thing is that the jury will think it has found the truth, but outside the court both sides are prepared to excoriate them if the decision goes the wrong way. Everyone on the jury knows this. How trial can be considered fair in these conditions is beyond me.

    I won’t understand if this doesn’t end in mistrial. I was on a jury once and we broke for lunch. A man approached me and tried to bring up the case. I reported it to the judge and even though I had immediately shut the conversation down, they had a huge investigation. It ended in a mistrial and it wasn’t even a high profile case like this one.

      I think they will be, as politics should not matter in that kind of charge. The wheels turn slowly, so this will be out of the media by that time. I'm not on the right at all, but it doesn't matter, I think anyone jury tampering should be held accountable. I don't want Kyle to get off on a technicality, I want him to be validated that he was defending himself.
      I think of women who are raped and told it's their fault for walking alone at night or wearing suggestive clothing (or even who work as a prostitute.) He shouldn't lose the right to defend himself just because he is young and made the same choices everyone else there made. The people who made the choice to attack caused their own situation. He didn't go there to kill, or he'd have killed the people who were not attacking him, I'd venture to say. :-)

      The judge can hold onto the mistrial until the verdict comes. He’s probably waiting to see the verdict, if he’s guilty he’ll probably call a mistrial, but he doesn’t want to call a mistrial in the case that there is an acquittal.
