It's getting worse for men in society. We are helping a guy who just went through divorce. He pays 3 k a month in child support. He is now a weekend dad at 35. It's like a Tornado ran right over him. He could never make Her happy??!! Timmy C Arizona
I’m 26 live with my grandpa he’s 86 and I’ve lived here my whole life I’m the only one he’s got. He’s handing me down this place when he goes. I Dated a girl for a year we was engaged and she didn’t wanna do prenup absolutely not. She gone haha
lost half the house, savings account spent and 50% lost, he was much higher earnier, funded her lifestyle as well in the meantime, absolutely destroyed.
So glad I never married. I've been in family court for 6 years now, it cost me over 100K. And this is only one child. So glad I was never married to the mother! Or any woman for that matter....
@@williamjohn8633 Legal fees and counselors. I was dragged into court every three months. My lawyer is $300/hour. A counselor is $200/hour. It gets expensive quickly.
Jonathan, even though you said he shouldn't have gotten married, what about common law marriages? Would he have still lost as badly had there been no official marriage & no pre nup
I'm from the United Kingdom and I know it happens over here too. It's unfortunate that so many go into the possible slaughter house blind, go in eyes wide open.
It would really be helpful in these videos if you explain why it was considered a marital asset -- what did he do that caused the house to be considered commingled property? Did he pay a mortgage with marital income? I had assumed the rich dad bought it for cash. Surely replacing the busted bathroom light with marital income was not the reason? Or merely living in it was not the reason?
In NY, inheritance is not part of the marital asset. Unless, the house was put into the marital pie. Not clear how it was commingled in this scenario. Did the guy put her name on the house or did he make substantial investment of renovations to his bequeathed property?
Are these decisions of awarding more than half of the assets a result of a liberal judge? Even though the wife contributed nothing toward the asset, how can any reasonable person award her more than half?
The law is said to be ambiguous if it not addressing a logic and common sense reasoning, u guys are complain over this marital issue of divorce as men always loss out, isnt the men that make the stupid law, how can a sloth come from no where to claim my legacy and heritage on the ground we are married and we are divorcing? The loop hole over divorce litigation shows how men of the west are SIMPS , compare to an African customary law and tradition. "you dont reap where u dont sow" An inheritance is not transferable in some customary law and culture, guys should think about that.
#1 rule, DO NOT GET MARRIED

What a horrible situation for the guy!

Most times at that point you don’t even care about the money, you just want to get away from that person. You just want peace. That’s how bad it gets.
Another great tale, unfortunate but great.

dad should've structured the home into a trust firstly, and then had the son get a postnuptial if he never got a prenup
Listen to your Uncle Jon kids, he only wants what's best for you.
Thanks for this cautionary tale!
You are welcome Judy!
Great reminder Jonathan.
Thank you!
Thanks for the video you are a great attorney
Do not get married, guys. I'm 47, no wife and no kids. I'm looking to retire early. Most guys my age who are married will not be able to do this.
