To be honest, I don't play oboe but I want to learn the right embouchure for the reed since I play flute, recorder, and bassoon. The double reed for oboe is really different and looks difficult to make a sound. I've told my mother if she can buy me a beginner oboe for my 15th birthday than spending 10k on a party that only lasts a day which is a girl dream. I may be a girl but I don't have that dream. My dream is to learn oboe.
Hi emma. Thanks for the nice tutorial! Im a new oboe player and want to have a round and deep sound when im playing the oboe. But it is always pretty hard for me to have a long note stably. I dont know what is the problem, my teacher said that i might bite the reed too much but when i try to release my lips, it sometimes still cannot produce sound. This problem has struggled me for a long time, i hope you can give me some advice.😭😭
Stephanie Hung You have probably to train your muscles more. You don’t have enough strenght in the right muscles because you are playing with a wrong embouchure. So you should first understand what is the right embouchure, and then do excercises with it. In the beginning, you’ll be tired after 10 seconds, and that’s perfectly normal! Try to stay really round with your embouchure, like you’re giving a little kiss. Watch my video on daily warming up where I talk about long notes! Good luck!
