- In this video we are going after a top tier Cimmerian Berserker fighter companion. Due to the amount of damage they can do to us, we go through several methods of mitigating this. By increasing our Concussive Damage output, reducing the incoming damage, and increasing the overall HP.
Then we head to the Mounds of the Dead to capture our new Berserker fiends.

Well... I have been following along while playing Conan exiles as a newbie (Player lots of Ark, Altas and Valhiem tho) .
I set up my own dedicated server (spare PC I have) just for me to solo play on. Set to middle difficulty. But because I muck about more and didn't use god mode for building my base (same spot btw) I got to level 60 before getting to get berserkers,
Anyway after I got my first Berserker I switched to War Party.
I made three sets of the head and chest from the Barachan Reiver Epic set. and the legs, braces and feet of the Hyena-fur (Epic) (+concussion)
Then gave them both Szeth's Truncheon with the advanced Concussion addition.
Before the fight I buff them with the potion of Elixir of Sight each (+concussion) and put 1 Savory Feast (+concussion) in each of their inventories and hit use.
(You don't mention in the videos you can potion and food buff thralls)
Anyway the result is a forgone conclusion. The victim Berserker is pretty much knocked out so fast they don't get more than a few shots off.
I just watch.
Also Szeth's Truncheon is the best Truncheon in the game. however, a steel Truncheon made by a "Driver" tier TaskMaster is very close to the same level.
ie 49 concussion dmg vs 50 concussion dmg.

Great video; I didn't know about the pick axe and the eggs. Nice tip. I really need to remember about the hyena armor. I always forget about it because it is in such a strange place. It should be in one of the Dogs of the Desert camps.
There's a really easy way to get a Cimmerian Berserker and it involves a specific weapon you can get nearby. At Stargazer's Crest, the chest there spawns a bow every time you reset the camp. One of these bows is called "Twice-Upon-An-Arrow". It fires two arrows each time you fire. And when you get it from that chest, the bow only does 1 health damage. So what you do is put a blunt weapon fitting on it, make a bunch of Blunted Arrows, and even with no points in Agility, or any Concussive boosting effects whatsoever, if you fire at the berserker from far enough back, and keep shooting them in the leg, you'll cripple them and with each shot firing 2 arrows, they'll be KO'd long before they get to you. Kind of works for anyone you want to thrall. You can just KO entire camps without going near anyone. Then sort them out once they're all on the floor. The bow will insta KO a tier 1 or 2... anything, with a powershot.

@@AngaarUK Please do. Another bow spawned there is called "Frenzied Bow." This also only does 1 health damage, and can be used to a similar effect, but not as good since it doesn't fire 2 concussive arrows per shot. I basically sent the whole of the mounds of the dead to sleep without hardly getting into combat, lol. Makes for some good thralling/sacrificing, if you set up both just outside.
since your relic hunter treasure seeker is on scouting mode, i believe he will just return to the last spot you actually place him, which i presume it's at your base entrance
when you're using the pick on the nests, try hitting the edge of the nest seems to work more often than not. But theres definetly a sweetspot

Good Video Angaar, 1 point, in Age of War your Thralls already do more concussive damage. When it changed the Thrall Timers and everything it also made them easier to KO, when I take my 2 Accursed out on Siptah, even with just 2 steel truncheons, they knock everything out super fast. I normally have them KO the entire camp and then go round with spear and kill everything I don't want.
I made a greater Hyena when you did some episodes back and I took him out today and he is like a wrecking ball, pretty darn deadly and takes very little damage. He stood his ground against a 3 scull boss crock.

what timing! I just finished farming a battalion of cimmerian berserkers myself. I chose the +1 follower perk so i had delinsia snowhunter and lianeele equiped with steel truncheons and all 3 of us basically stunlocking each berserker spawns lol.
Another awesome video, once again a learning experience, I made sure to put pencil to paper on this one, it had quite a bit to take in. Being that Conan Exiles is just a large sandbox, with your videos it turns out to be a quest as well. 🤓✍
Maybe worth mentioning the Cannibal Brutes, they got some love with AoW and are now hardest hitting thralls in game. Also shouldn't be too hard to befriend them at lower levels. They aren't as durable as Berserkers though.
With the Potion of Rebirth, rerolling their perks for the Blessed Perk and others like it, they can become quite durable with a range of 3500-5000hp
And then outfitting them in heavy armor like Redeemed Silent Legion Helmet, Dragon Ribs, Godbreaker Gauntlets, Champion's Breeches, Godbreaker boots
I start watching Your videos before yesterday and im sad because I have to wait until next video will show up, I playing conan maybe a few weeks ago and did quite thesame as You from the beginning, just learn a few things about knocking out with the orbs, but I have other technique, if thralls are standing next to the water, then im standing iside the water and shooting them with a knocking arrows, you just have to went out from the water for a while to keep them following You, because in other case they'll reset the knock out level

Been following your videos for a while now, I love the way you make them. Good information presented well, not to mention entertaining too. As for taming the berserker, blocking some of their hits with your own shield to help out your thrall, I mean friend, helps to mitigate the damage they might take. That is, if you dare, knowing how it can backfire big time 😁

Having your thrall take a shield and grab aggro while you thump them with a friend stick was a great idea.
I think the flaming stove was doing more to warm you up than the meal!🤣
You would think, but the meal does have a warming effect too, check out 18:44 when I eat one up at the Mounds.
So it does! I had to comment though just in case as I always forget about the warming effect stove - having a base in a hot part of the map I always end up Extremely Hot whenever I just want to cook a meal 😥, until I get upgraded to Redeemed Silent Legion armour and then none of it matters anyway 😄
The Hyrkanian Raider Armor (base game, i believe) and the new Aesir Chieftain Armor from the battle pass, are some really good heavy armor sets that increase concussive damage
I meant to mention you can set your follower to a more defensive attitude in behaviours, then they will use the shield a bit more appropriately, they do still like to hit things though.
You can actually make your follower just stay and block, its one of the combat styles you choose, on "Melee, Ranged, or Stay And Block"
Have not seen that function on playstation. It is also permanently on passive aggresive

Truncheon might break. But yeah, you can now do 3 combos of bludgeoning with just 5 in stamina.
If you place a truncheon on your follower he will do more concusive damage than you, also you can both use a truncheon and it is way easier to knock out a berserker. I captured one a few days ago and I was level 30.

Watched a streamer go after the Berserker and die more than three times. First die the spawn at bedroll on Newb River. So they picked up bedroll. Second die (no bedroll) they spawn at day one monolith in the southern desert. Third time they bothered to place the bedroll. After fourth they looked for their original gear (gone after fourth respawn).😂

I was farming for a Relic Hunter in the Cellar. Thought I was doing OK until I literally lost my head. Never seen that before.

So I'm at 19:31 you just got to the Mounds. Your guy there why didn't you give him a Truncheon to you have 2 of them. I'm just curious as to the thinking. Plus seeing as how I haven't gotten to the fighting yet I'm your video Angaar. On Console with me having Max authority and war party I'm about to hit a thrall one time and they go to sleep. All of them. I'm thinking that was a bug but it's really nice not having to worry about that lol
With the latest Age of War thrall HP nerf and the huge increase of dame done I was just wanting to play safe and have him blocking as much as possible to protect him while I took done the Berserker. Didn't want new players to go up there and have there followers cleaved in two by the very strong Berserker. Once you get more confident, then yes give them truncheons and get them to help.
@@AngaarUK makes sense. Just wondering. But so you know. Name Bearers start off with over 5k Health. Provided you can find them cause they are extremely rare spawn even in their normal locations. But I just tamed Ulrik the Mountaineer and he's got so much health is crazy.
Purge has no chance with that crew! No idea how the purge works with the new update yet, but you guys have a solid crew.
@Angaar, why dont you get a Cannibal brute, Thugraa or Ritualist for a cnange? They are very easy to get, two of them got a 100% spawn location... Yes, they start with very low hp, close to 500, but "well trained" perk takes care of that and their damage multiplier is far greather that any of berserkers or Dalinsias will ever be. And they somehow benefit from +20 to all stats more than cimmerians for whatever reason. Try it someday. Their damage multiplier is higher than Arena Champion atm and it feels smooth against all content.
Yeah, just didn't think it was appropriate for a Beginner's Guide series, as you need to carefully micro-manage their Vitality to level them up before they have enough HP to survive the tougher content. Also I expect that to get nerfed at some point as I really don't expect that a fighter from noob river is intended to be so strong when the idea is usually the further up the map you go the stronger the NPCs are. But currently it is the highest damage in the game 😎
@@AngaarUK well, I got my lvl1 brute from 500 ish hp up to 1800 only from well trained perk. That is more than enough to get him going. Fed him grilled steak for higher hp gains up till 20, while farmed for sorcery upgrades. When that was done, made a bunch of elixirs of rebirth and rolled a full hp brute. Now he is 5700 hp while following me and damage is still awesome. Yes, sorcery is a grind, but well worth it, esp. for beginners, cause it makes you travel different places to get all those ingredients needed for upgrades.
Great video. Is there a downside to the perk that allows you to have two followers at once? I imagine that three steel trudgeons would knock out a thrall quickly.
They just wouldn't have the +20 stat bonus and also don't get any of the Follower Damage bonus from your armour
I only got one berserker, but I farmed the Cimmerians to get star weapons and tools and armor. These guys have good loot on them. But I gotta
make the long journey back home. Gotta unlock the teleporters.
Yet another great video, unfortunately 12 hours too late for me. I was farming at the Stargazer camp and forgot to put down a bedroll, got killed and respawned at my base. Grabbed spare gear and another follower and rushed north, this time i thought i would get a berserker and immediately got myself caught between my horse, follower and the berserker and he one shotted me. 5 years in the game and still making all the mistakes, I love this game.
Happens to us all mate. Done the run of shame plenty of times 🤣

21:26 Been wondering if after the AoW has completed and the next chapter is released, will the truncheon damage be returned to the pre AoW values?
Hope not, but you never know what changes they will make. They added extra physical damage against T4s in AoS, then took all the damage away in AoW 🤷♂️
Aw, we didn't get to see your scrap in the forgotten city. I've been wanting to visit that place but always thought it was going to be to dangerous, so I was waiting for you to go first.
Maybe if you do content off camera you could make a rough vid of it, you would not need to edit it, and have it as episode ?? part 2 for peeps who are interested.

@@AngaarUK Thank you. I am up to episode 15 now, so looking forward to watching that. I am slow getting through the series as I keep going back through the episodes to refresh my memory on stuff. It's easy to miss a opportunity to do things because you supply so many ideas in one episode, but I never find myself with nothing to do.
Why did you not get your thrall one of truncheons? I always do with mine helps to knock them out faster
The plan was just to keep them blocking to take as little damage as possible. Once you are happy they will survive, then yes, swap to a truncheon for faster knockout

They would do, only as part of a combo when they shield smash

Different people have different favorites. My fav is Dalinsia Snowhunter and Cimmerian Berserker

Is it wise to put mods on all yours and your followers armour and weapons?
Yep, every little helps. You can also buff them with certain food buffs and potions too.
Does the purple lotus orb work on Conan. Lol.

Dangit, you always complain about the war party vs the well trained and that you hate that you have to feed them. I do things a bit differently and it is quite simple. I think it is the second perk where you choose that your 'pal' gets health back during combat or after. I was never impressed with how much they got during combat so one day I tried the healing after combat. They heal very fast and I do not carry around stacks of food for them. If I am buffing their vitality, I carry a small stack for them and me. When I see them level, I give them their buff and take the stack of food back and let that perk actually heal them up. I suggest you give it a try.
