Yeah Funcom has moved on from the original Exiles story and never stream lined it for a newer audience. The Staff is supposed to be organically found but often you find out about it after you more or less don't need the Staff's advice. You used to be able to see a portal that appears with the staff (where you made it in the Tower of Bats)...but they never were activatable. So much potential in the base game that's just left and forgotten. Also I'd love to see a sentient staff arcane focus at some point in the game. The voice acting really is some of the best in exiles.

So, after my Thugra got crappy stats, I did a re-roll on him. He got all vitality perks for extra 28 pts. So, with that, his armor & the well trained perk, he's running around with over 5100 health. Happy with that 😊
Hello, the way I see it, the brute/Thugra is so even players that are not 60 yet can start building a purge army as fast as possible and experiment the age of war features. Granted the brutes won't get far in purge levels but they should be able to survive the first levels and let players get the feel of how purges work before they start to farm cimmerians.
Like you I was reluctant to use a Brute but after I "befriended" a few until I got one with 95% in str and vit, Im never going back, they are so powerful, even at a lower lvl.
It is so strange that that thrall hits like such a truck, yet I one shot that thrall in later stage. You told us about the book, but not about what receipe's you learn. I guess I will go to the wiki for that. At one point, I TP'd to all the books and learned them. I forget how many there are, but on this play through I will have to find them one at a time. The ice bridge across that gap is a nice touch. Thanks for saying the POINT at where you want it to go, I have been trying to figure out how to make that work.

Did something change? I thought thralls got no benefit from +VIT or +STAM on armor. Although the Cimmerian armor is really easy to farm now so free armor is free armor. Also love these videos Angaar. Been binging the whole series!

i forgot to mention that you can also give your fallower an extra 15% damage from salted pork ... So to be specific, you can give fallower thralls cooked pork rinds, salted pork and a grey lotus potion or elixir of might for strength, unfortunately agility thralls only have salted exquizite meat and the elixir
The Kingslayer weapons do cripple and bleed, a level 29 player can get steel and black ice to make those employing the right strategies. Are there better *craftable weapons to go for at level 30 or so?
Hi angaar, I like to run my brutes in tandem with a bearer or a berserker, and turn off the brutes irritate perk. I wont use them against an enemy that uses fire or poison because I feel that is their biggest weakness. They might be located on noob river but you still have to knock them out and I think they will die if you try to use the low level truncheon to grab them much like the named fighters on noob river (low health, high torpidity) although i guess you could use purple orbs on the one by the steps to the dregs. thanks for great videos, are you a convert to the glass cannon club?
Like the idea of teaming them up with a high HP partner and disabling Irritate perk. They have fixed the issue with basic truncheon doing damage in latest mini patch!
Oh, I've never encountered Cooked Pork Rinds in my playthrough :c seems like the most OP food ever! Please tell me how to get it :c I usually use The Potion of Strenght but it improves the damage by only 15% so, it's much less.
Cooked Pork Rinds is just Raw Pork cooked in a standard camp fire, no recipe required. Salted Pork comes from Specialist Cooking I which is learned at The Summoning Place as is cooked in a Stove. You can give both foods and a potion to the "friend" for a massive combined damage boost 🤘😎🤘

About Cannibal Brutes, progression in Conan seems to stop about 2/3 into the game. In terms of Thralls, there should be a 20% (say) better thrall (than berserker) in the cold north and then the best should be the Volcano named. The Berserker itself seems too easy to get. Armor is a much greater factor than health and the damage multiplier, melee weapon dmg and pen is much greater factor than the strength or agility attribute. So a Cannibal Brute in say Dragonbone Armour with a high damage weapon is going to be better than any other thrall with better base attributes. With Archers it's not broken in that with ranged weapons Agility still controls the ability to hit the target (I believe). So a Cannibal Archer, while they do huge damage when they hit, will miss a lot if their agility stat isn't high enough. So, for an archer don't bother with Sorschut Eyegouger (2.88/2.88) you won't raise the Agility attribute (not damage %) high enough. Whereas Du'neman the Dragoon (1.44/2.16) who starts with 30 in Agility works out much better. I think to fix it they should make Strength also affect base weapon penetration. In your series you don't really explore other thrall combinations. And it's correct that a fighter or pair of fighters will get you through the whole game. So far I've leveled a bunch of Cannibal brutes A Beastmaster Teimos (1.3/1.8) as agility fighter paired with Ansina Hidden-Daggers (2.4/2.4) as a strength fighter. Those worked out very well. A pair of Du'neman the Dragoon (1.44/2.16) as agility fighters with a view to making them purge archers. A Sorschut Eyegouger (2.88/2.88) archer with a Rethrous the Burdened (0.5/0.5) bearer (from memory). and are currently leveling a Lian paired with Freya (1.684,1.685). With them I was so so sick of the look of Dragonbone Armour so I illusioned it to Black Corsair Garb (Lian) and Lemurian Royal Armor (Freya) The number in brackets is the Melee, Ranged Damage multipliers reported by the standard admin GetFollowerStat. With Lian and Freya I tamed about 4 of each alongside four Dina, Master Huntress and choose between them based on the level up percentages.
Personally I think that the Cannibal Brute is a bug. Noob river shouldn't have the best fighter in the game. That throws the progression system off. I wouldn't be shocked if the Cannibal Brute is nerfed in a future upgrade. I guess the developers could remove the Brute from noob river and keep the stat modifier.
There is also a bug with the VIT multiplier on T3 & T2 Barrers when leveled the HP goes north of 15k and the bug report sit on the forum from three years in MAY 2020, so don;t think funcom is in the fixing business.
If you want a fighter thrall, Cannibal Brutes aren't just the best you can get... they're the best you can get by an order of magnitude. Which, honestly I think makes the game a little bit broken and takes some of the fun out of it. Like why would you use anything else when you can pick these up within your first half hour of playing the game? They're way too good compared to anything else. I am running two of them with War Party and they just obliterate anything in seconds. Anything less than a three skull boss is usually oneshotted. Even the three skull bosses last less than 20 seconds. It's crazy. Give them both a warhammer for the stagger and sunder and they just... you literally never have to fight anything, lol. Honestly I think either other things need a buff, or they need a nerf, because as it is they're just... head and shoulders above anything else. Literally. Why do you need health when nothing lives long enough to hit you more than once?
I assumed it was a mistake when they made their damage so high in AoW, but they never nerfes them in Chapter 2 or any if the other patches, so i went for them too. However, in the current Chapter 3 beta, their multiplier has been halved!!!
@@AngaarUK Good. I think that the fun of the Thrall system is choosing who to have. Anything that's just "the best" takes all the fun out of the game. You should be able to have several different options based on what you want. Not just "This is meta, never use anything else."
@@AngaarUK I think the Darfari have been designed that way on purpose now. I recently got a Dancer called Ansina Hidden-Daggers. A Darfari Dancer. She starts with the same low health as the Cannibal Brute but she has a higher damage multiplier than a Cimmerian Berserker at 2.4. Making her a really good choice if she hasn't been nerfed with the new update. Power of a berserker with the perks of having a Dancer. The health thing is quite easily mitigated by Rebirth Elixirs and careful training. Getting both +15 Vitality perks makes someone pretty tanky, and since the Darfari start with a high Grit stat, they have rather good armour. Give her a weapon like Hanuman's Gada and she's a monster. Plus you never have to worry about corruption.
Thinking something might be buggered with chapter 2. I ran the witch queen this morning (mostly for the same reason Angaar did, journey step was sending me to the black keep and I wanted the lead ups to it) and she dropped two masks. Also seen scourgestone pieces drop from random pirates in blackhand camps rather than the bucaneer bay captains. Something definitley seems borked with the drops. Wondering if it's their new loot system.
Really enjoying your series I only wish that you seemed more excited. You seem almost sad or monotone. When you do your videos, and you have a great accent. So be awesome to see you really get into your videos and really enjoy it. I mean, no disrespect, Videos are great, maybe just a little bit more excitement.
@AngaarUK it could also just be how the mic is set up. There are a lot of great tutorial vids out there for making any voice sound more impactful and entertaining.
If you know how to make the item and repair them with the required materials they will retain max durability, but if you use a weapon/armour repair kit they will loose max durability, with the better quality kit loosing less durability.

If you eat a Hearty feast you get an additional 12% follower damage on top of the potion as well

Ok, so I went and did everything now I just gotta head up to the city and talk to Razma and get the relic armor unlocked.
I picked up a Cannibal Brute from a thrall cage after a lvl 3 purge. I then decided to go get another 2. Strong but fragile.

I thought that exact thing too, but they have released a whole new chapter update and several hot fixes and not nerfed it yet!
That still leaves Thugra, who is located just a bit north from Summoning place and is ridiculously easy location to get.

Two masks? Is harvesting turned up on your server?
I always have x2 harvesting but that doesn't affect loot drops. Never seen double artefact drops before!
