I've been doing this and it helps. I was wondering if there's a way to know how this might effect the amount of yarn you'd need for a pattern. I assume it would end up using more but is there a way to know before hand so you can buy the right amount?
Thanks for your comment. Actually with this method you should use less yarn because you do less chains than the traditional granny square. The only way to find out is to do two granny squares: one with the traditional method and one with this method, then you you will weigh them and you see which one weighs less. It’s important that you use the same type of yarn for both of them ☺️
