      @@mathphotographer I hope you kept the Leica Noctilux-M 50mm f1.2 ASPH Limited Edition Silver Chrome lens (11702) that you reviewed in February of this year because I saw a new one for sale at an online camera store called Setadel Studios located in Toronto, Canada. They're asking $99,995USD for this lens.

    Your pictures remind me of how neat, clean and free of trash that region is .... and which a 100Mpx camera will find if it is there. Great review with real world photographs.

    Would you recommend as first lens for GFX 100 II vs 35-70. Interest is landscape and close-up of flowers and compactness is bonus for me.

    24mm (30mm f4) FFE or 35mm FFE (45mm f2.8)?…which is the better lens?

    Thank you for the review. Are you satisfied that it is wide enough, for landscape and travel?

    Is there a reason you would prefer this over the 23mm?

    What settings did you use for the milky way shots?

    Nice review, I am following you now for a long time, what would be your one equipment set to take with you if you can choose one body with 2 lenses only, LG Frank from NZ

    wow - never really realized how wide this 30mm is until you mentioned the full frame equivalent - personally might still want to use the 45mm and get that f2.8.
    THOUGHHH... a 50mm f3.5 + 30mm might be a nice combo
    not only its pretty impressive that it's close focus distance is relatively good showing examples of insects but that you are able to focus fast enough to capture insects flying is impressive, or were you using manual focus?

    Fantastic review. Do you like the picture quality better than the Hasselblad? Love to hear your comment. The Hasselblad lens is so expensive, it may make sense to buy the Fuji 30mm with the 50mp body. Thank you.

    Thanks for showing off the GF 30/3.5’s close focusing capabilities. I was wondering about it so it was good to see some sample images.

    DigLloyd has knocked multiple samples of this lens (particularly the outer half for landscapes) pretty hard: "This series proves out unequivocally what I kept seeing in series after series: the Fujifilm GF 30mm f/3.5 R WR is incapable of delivering sharpness on a 100MP sensor at any aperture."

    • @mathphotographer
      @mathphotographer  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I don't know how they do their tests ... but I can confirm that even at 200% zoom in Lightroom these images are tack sharp. So assuming they know how to operate a GFX 100s + lens, I guess they had a faulty 30mm unit 😉

      @@mathphotographer he's (in)famous for being one of the most hardcore and methodological gear reviewers on the internet, and he tested multiple samples after the finding on the first one. You have to subscribe to see the details.

      He (DigLloyd) makes a lot of outlandish claims. I don't take him seriously.

    • @astrostl
      @astrostl 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@goodbokeh 100% of his claims are backed with example-based evidence, and the trickier ones to reproduce usually feature step-by-step methodology as well as tests across multiple samples.
      He was crazy for saying the M 50 APO had a flare problem, and it ended up being recalled; he was crazy for saying the ZM Distagon is optically superior to the M Summilux, which is now considered orthodoxy; etc.
      Folks can use the samples to decide if they care as much about it as he does. As for Fuji, he loves the 50/3.5, 23/4, and 110/2.

    • @josh885
      @josh885 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@goodbokeh Well people don't subscribe to your site if you aren't saying outlandish click bait things. He's just a more refined and techno geek version of Ken Rockwell. No way Fuji releases a lens for the GFX system that "is incapable of delivering sharpness on a 100MP sensor at any aperture." He either was using a defective camera, lenses, technique, or is a liar. GF lenses are class leading even when compared to the very best FF lenses, even the "cheap" ones. Fuji has sated they are all designed to resolve more 100MP for the future. The idea that Fuji suddenly just forgot how to make a lens sharp is some of the most silly nonsense I have ever heard. To get those results, and instead of questioning your equipment or tehcnieqe think they make sense and publish is just irresponsible.
