very old and very beautiful model! I don’t think I can find a new plastic case ((but you can take a case from YCS410GX or YCS101. stainless steel! a master familiar with a repair sample can change it for you! YCS410GX or YCS101 can be bought on ebay, in a damaged condition, good luck!

but won't some of the fine debris particle of the broken acrylic end up in the day/date wheel and get into the gears? that's always a risk.

It's hard for me to tell what size the GB715 is. I don't have this model. In my video, the crystal size is 36.5 mm. you can use a ruler to measure

If you are going to break it anyway, is n't it easier to use a dremel and a flat screwdriver. Thanks for the video.
