    Thank you thank you! This was the most clear and helpful of these Loopback tutorials! Thank you for making it simple and clear ❤

    I am a recording professional, many major releases and years of experience and I really must commend you on this tutorial. I am new to M:S and am looking to use the loopback plugin with various MIDI switches and Bluetooth triggers. I was beginning to regret buying M:S and extra hardware foot-switches in favour of purchasing a dedicated loop pedal BUT your wonderful tutorial has convinced me that I did the right thing .. THANK YOU :-)

      Thank you for letting me know. It can sometimes be a struggle getting it to work, but it is VERY flexible.

    This is a really awesome tutorial for more advanced users of logic and Mainstage! I actually haven't used Mainstage but I am super excited to know how to exercise multitrack looping ability with my instruments and channel strip settings from productions in Logic Pro! Awesome!!Thank you.

    Darren - if it's really latency then check settings and try to adjust the buffer size downward. You may also be syncing your record start to the bar or beat - check the loopback plug in for that setting.

    Is there a way to set up a next channel button to record a loop on a different loopback aux ?

  • @11kerol

    Hi thank you for the video, I just want to ask we can assign button to all start, stop, clear and use it as virtual looper on fly. What will happen to guitar delay or reverb time. If we put snap to start will it be out of time or stay in sync.
    Thank you Kerol

    • @audiopropellor
      @audiopropellor  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You certainly can map those buttons and use the looper in real time performances. Any tempo sync effects will react as usual. I have a few videos on setting up main stage for performance if you haven’t seen them.

    make sure there's not accidentally multiple tempos in your logic project or it won't print tempo info that playback can sync up.

    Thanks for the video, man, I appreciate it. I have a question though: Does anyone know how to get Loopback to stay with the Mainstage's beat clock as it changes? I.e. when I adjust my tempo with a "tap tempo" command, my Ultrabeat follows my new tempo, but my Loopback loops don't! Any tips?

    Hi, nice video! 👍 As long as you know, do you think Loop Station can quantize in real time what I'm playing live? I'd like to rec some drums but without sync are a bit dirty. I really need to play and set all the notes in the right place exactly like Logic Pro does. Any idea how to do it? Any suggestion would be appreciated. Thank in advance.

    THANK YOU SO MUCH MAN!!! I just bought an RC-30 loop station dual-track. I never knew LOOPBACK existed! Now I am thinking I could meet all my looping needs using only loopback. Do you think its a good idea for me to return my Boss RC-30 to Guitar Center?

  • @Sunscribes
    @Sunscribes 10 ปีที่แล้ว

    Also, is it pretty seemless? I mean, if I have 4 loop tracks going w/ multiple instruments, have you experienced glitches? or split-second delays?

    Thanks for this video! great stuff, but I have a question about saving these loopbacks:
    1. I create a loopback in one concert, save the concert. All's good. 2. I open another concert and create another loopback and save that. Problem: When I re-open my first saved concert, the loopback was the 2nd one saved. I lost the first. It seems that everytime I create a new loopback pattern and save it under a different concert, ALL the other older saved concerts are "overwritten". What's going on?

    • @audiopropellor
      @audiopropellor  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      patrick Lee Did you check the box to save your loopback samples with the concert when you saved it?

  • @ASpikeOnTPhenomena

    Nice explanation...maybe you can help me
    1.) I recognized, there is some kind of noise gate on the loopback. When I play something "piano" loopback is erasing the recorded stuff until I play my instrument loud enough to break some kind of threshold. Is there any way to switch this noise gat off?
    2.) Another problem is, I put my bus correctly on the loopback (with a level of 0dB) but I constantly the have feeling loopback is recording my guitar or my plugged in synth not so loud than the signal I hear (monitor on loop back is off!)
    3.) Sometimes changing the patches, non started loopers (I arranged 4) change their tempo...that's really annoying (set concert tempo is off!)
    thanks

    • @bajtucha
      @bajtucha ปีที่แล้ว

      I find the same problem with the threshold although if you stop recording immediately right after reaching measure 1 (so when the loop backs to the beginning) even the weak signal gets recorded but it is a pain and requires dexterity.

    I have a problem when I try to change parameters (like position,length,or tempo) on the transport of the loopback. The program says "disabled" when I try to change them.Does anybody now how to fix this? thanks again!

    • @Scientist1642
      @Scientist1642 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think you can't change it once you make a recording, try to clear the tape loop first.

    For some reason when I overdub over a loop that's playing, the overdub deletes when the loop reaches the beginning again. Do you know why this is? Thanks.

    • @ASpikeOnTPhenomena
      @ASpikeOnTPhenomena 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      somekind of a noise gate....I also want to switch it off. try playing your signal a bit louder and you will recognize, it's recording again

    What i cant figure out how to do is, control one layer at a time with a single midi control. Say I want to do multiple loops, and build a beat one part at a time. do drums, then bass, then melody, then voice. is there a way to play one "layer" at a time? using multiple patches immediatly cuts off the loop backs.

    • @samgreene7961
      @samgreene7961 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      The loopback plugin needs to be at the concert level.

    • @dugthefreshest
      @dugthefreshest 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you Sam, i would say that solved about 50% of my problem. So I have a drum kit patch, and a melody patch. when switching from drum to concert, drums continue to play. but from drum to melody, the drums stop while recording the melody, than both play at the concert/ set level. How can i keep the drum going in the drum patch, while recording the melody in the melody patch? Thanks again.

    • @samgreene7961
      @samgreene7961 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm totally sure this will fix you, as it's not clear if you are recording the drums and loopback. But if you want your drums playing from a drum machine to play while you do patch changes then they also need to be at the concert level. I think you can also put them in a folder grouping your patches.

    • @dugthefreshest
      @dugthefreshest 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'll check it out when I get home. As a work around i set up 4 instruments on a patch, all with unique midi channels. This enables me to simply change my midi channel on my controller to switch to each channel strip instrument. Each strip is routed to an aux. So far it's working, if not a little convoluted. At this i just might get good at it and deal with it lol.

      Click on Audio FX on the channel strip scroll down to main stage at the bottom - delay - loopback, make sure you have downloaded additional content found under MainStage tab.

    This video was horrific. There is no way for me to keep up with you during the first 10 steps that you just flew through. Nonetheless, you seem to be very profficient in this program. I remain clueless, though I was a monster at programming sounds for the DX-7 back in the day, and I get around Cubase like it's my backyard. I'm not going to give up, and eventually I will understand the first minutes of your very intelligent but cryptic video.
    In closing, one very good pedagogic device is to assume nothing (on the part of your listeners' prior knowledge).

    • @Rossvanzyl

      This video is designed to show loopback only, not to be an intro to mainstage. There are hundreds of other videos on youtube that can give you a really good introduction if you're lost

    • @Joel_Powell
      @Joel_Powell 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Be patient...@Ross van Zyl's comment was a good one, but I'll add to it. MainStage and Logic (if you use it) are both awesome but they have tremendous depth. Nice thing about TH-cam videos is you can watch them over and over until you understand.
      This was a great intro to the looper.
