    Most bass channels make me want to toss the bass and just walk away. Julia makes me want to pick it up and play! Some show you how good they are; Julia shows you how good you can be. Thanks for being my inspiration!

      @tiborgulyas3921 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      For me Julia is the living proof that small people aren't limited to playing a shortscale bass. If you can feel the groove, it's just a matter of patience and practice. Never compromise on scale length, especially if you are playing below D standard.

    I’m 42 and been playing bass since I was 12 and never have been able to read music or tabs. Never tried actually. Learned by ear as a kid then once I realized I’m actually good at this, I purposely taught myself the Nashville number system. I realized to make money playing I had too. I was a 18 year old kid doing session work and these seasoned musicians was handing me charts. Years later, I love watching people read charts. I do everything based on feel so I appreciate the art of reading.

    Starting the day with Julia playing the bass is always good.
    What's really hard in My Girl is to resist the temptation of playing the guitar melody. Such level of control is not for beginners. 😁

    Hey Julia, I am Rodrigo from Brazil. I used to play bass my entire life. I left the practice 5 years ago, and now I don't know how I do to restart. I am 45 years old now, and I am feeling afraid to come back. I don't feel myself confident enough, especially with right hand performance (ghost notes, slapping, groove). I would like to receive an advise from you. I think you are one of the best bass player that I've already saw. All the best.

    Hello , is a acoustic bass good enough to learn bass play?

    • @tiborgulyas3921
      @tiborgulyas3921 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm just a beginner bassist, but I would say it's easier to learn on electric, because you need less finger strength with plucking and fretting and you can always use a headphone to practice, unlike the acoustic which is way louder than a classical guitar. You don't even need to buy an amp to practice, some headphones come with built-in amps, or you can use an amplug, and connect your own headphones.
