I just started my psychology degree a few weeks ago and have been struggling with research methods but you're video made it easier to understand, thankyou.
thanks for your comment, really encouraging :-) Also, the song at the end is called 'Stay' by Elate, are you interested in downloading it? i can contact the band for you if you like? thanks
Psychology Students I have found the song. Loving it. Thanks. I am appearing for A level psychology in mayjune 2018 session. Your videos r very helpful.
Glad you like the song, i'll tell the band :-) Good luck with your exams! I am going to be uploading more videos, so hopefully you'll find them helpful.
Dongwook Lee the IV is naturally occurring, for example, with the bank robbery study, the IV was either the bank teller (high anxiety) or the people doing their banking (low anxiety). The DV is how the experimenter decides to measure the difference between the conditions of the IV. In the bank robbery study the DV was the accuracy of eye witness testimony. Does that help? Ask again if you have more questions :-)
Regarding the Bushman (1988) power of uniform experiment, 52% of respondents obeyed the "command" the beggar. This was lower than the 48% who complied with the executive lady's command. Possible explanation? Sympathy?
Yes i think you're probably right. People might feel sorry for the beggar and know they are unlikely to have much money which could explain why the business exec got the least amount of response. Thanks for your question :-)
If you do a laboratory experiment you would need to check the ethics before you can undertake. Most people use a university. They will also check your hypothesis etc. Good luck!

Ik this is the old spec so what we learn now is that there are 3 types of experiments; lab, field and quasi (natural) rather than natural and quasi being two separates ones can i use the advantages and disadvantages of natural experiments for quasi? Or were they specifically different in the old spec for a particular reason? Thanks for this video btw so helpful =)
Honestly , I was going to drop Psychology and question my career path until this video. Thanks !
