That price should have at least been the price of the A35. Even that one is a bit too pricey. The competition is too tough in this segment, and they should have at least tried to get their pricing right. You can get a Golf 8 Gti for less money with a lot more features and performance than this. I'm sorry but Mercedes has lost the plot. Even the C200 price is insane! I swear if Chinese brands jump on into this market there's going to be havoc!
I think overall the Germans have some kind of disease, the new polo is almost R500k, that’s not even the Gti! It’s absurd! The Chinese can give you a seven row SUV for that kind of money!
You can get a 2023 used c class for the money or you can get a bmw 3 series
This should cost 800k at most(including the amg package). There’s so many better options to consider if you have 950k, the Golf 8 Gti is cheaper and offers better performance but if it’s space you’re looking for then the G20 320i or even 330i. Heck I’m pretty sure you can even get a brand new base spec S3 or Golf R

For that money definitely getting a slightly used 330i or 320d, but for one that wants a Merc can get a slightly used C220d or c200
I could never buy A class for over 900k, meanwhile a 2023 bmw 320i with M-Sport costs 962K.

I'd rather get the 2022 C Class Edition 6, Kia Sportage GT Line, Cherry Tiggo 8, Lexus IS300h F Sport. Mercedes really needs to look at their pricing.
For R830k I'm getting a Lexus IS300h plus it's interior does not bother me like many people

I think there is a trend where manufacturers are driving up car prices right now for an obviously entry-level product to significantly prop up prices of their best-sellers i.e. the C-class and premium offerings. I don't think they care whether we think this A-Class is expensive because they know where they eat & will use these unreasonable prices as the benchmark to justify an entry-level C-Class being R1.2m - R 1.5m.
New car prices are ridiculous. I bought a demo G20 320i M-Sport, fully spec’d for R700k because paying R1m for the brand new equivalent is mental.
At that price, I feel like I could find the current generation C class with the amg package on it. Depreciation is a wonderful thing 😅

Mercedes is really unfair with it's prices... I'd rather go for the 118d or 320d G20 BMW or get the MK 7.5R and still have change ya horr ke tseye that MK7.5r ke top up the top speed to cape town just to test drive, spend and enjoy my decision.. yeses there are lots and lots of cars bo MK8 GTi... that's why Muzi said "Japanese are here in South Africa to stay". Anyway i really enjoyed the review keep it up much love 💗💗

Maybe it's time for the Chinese to start to enter this segment like they did with the quality of cars that they offer in the SUV market because WOW. The German cars are wayyy overpriced 🙆

Build quality I have a different view, it’s bad. It has squeaky interior and rattling interior after six months of driving. They should have done better on the dashboard quality for that price.
Honestly, at that price range it doesn’t have a proper footing in the market. 6/7 years ago you would drive around and see the A class on almost every corner and it evoked a feeling. The current A class range is just another Mercedes car. You don’t even see as many of them on the road anymore.

im going to buy a cla45 c117 for R560 000 rather, its one of the best 2.0L in the world

For that price, I'm buying myself an RS4 or RS5(5 door). Yes maybe 4 years old with 50k+ km on the speedo, but not an A-Class sorry. Or even an RS6.
