- Whats up everyone, Today Dad and I are trying a new strategy while we metal detect. Its called Plat Land Hunting. We are using a phone app called Gaia GPS. The reason this app is so cool it allows us to see where houses were back in the 1800's. The results are just what we expected and we highly recommend this strategy. Enjoy the Video.

Zada needed her moment in the spotlight to 🤣
Very cool with your oldest coin being 1817 🎉 congrats Jordan 😃
The old coin and the lantern part both being very old were my favorites of your finds dad 👍
Your volume was a little low when you were out hunting so it was a bit hard to hear you. All in all though a great video guys 👍☺
Thanks for your feedback. I’m still in the process of fixing the volume situation however it is really tricky. Hopefully in due time I will have it figured out.
@@AquaLandRelics I'm very willing to keep watching until it's resolved 😃👍
@@kayesdigginit1519 thanks for the compliments and the insight. We have begun to check the external microphone each time we record. We are thinking that maybe it possibly wiggled lose. So we are hoping to have the problem figured out. Thanks for hanging in there with us until then. 😉 God Bless
Cool vid and location
Thanks. Never in a million years would we have hunted there if not for plat maps
I noticed the dog at the end of the video was very cute perhaps you could use that dogtag on her lol just kidding. Anyway I hope you both have a blessed Labor Day cannot wait to see next weeks episode they’re always the highlight of the Sunday.
Thanks for your kind words. It's always fun putting them together. Just fortunate we live in a rich history area. Thanks agian
Thank you so much Misaka ! Truly appreciate it and comments like these is what makes it worth it every week ! It’s not easy that’s for sure ! Thank you .
No problem at all guys seeing you guys together brings barrels of laughs. I wish you could detect where I live but Ontario is getting cold this time of year 🥶.
Good job guys
Thank you sir!
Nice finds !
Thank you Steve for your support buddy ! Hope all is well !
It's ok just had found out last Thursday that I have neuropathy in both feet and legs . Which is the dieing off the nerves . It could have been caused from many different things . As I had worked many different kinds of jobs . I have worked on a farm . As a janitor putting myself through junior high , high school and 2 years of college . Stocking shelves in a grocery store . Oil field repairing wells . Dish washer at a few restaurants . Grounds keeper at a college where I mowed the grass , landscaped and much more . Mechanic in the Air Force . Signal man for Santa Fe railroad . Housekeeper at the Wichita Veterans Regional and Medical Center . So I was around a lot of different chemicals , solvents , diesel fuel , gas and jet fuel . Any number of them of the combination of them might have caused the neuropathy . Other than that doing pretty good ! Thank you for asking !
@@steveclark4291 wow. You have some job history. As Johnny Cash would say. You've been everywhere man. Sorry about that crap you got. Hopefully they can control it
Those could be a tack buckle like for the reins for horses !
That is a carriage bolt .
Nice finds! Are you guys near Cascade?
Thank you ! And About and hour away
@@AquaLandRelics Ok. I have a brother-in-law who lives in Cascade. I'm wondering what the app is that Jordan mentioned that shows old homestead sites. There are a lot of old farmsteads here in northern MN that I would like to check out and I think that app would be useful. Thanks.
What was the rating on the coins !
What you mean rating?
Good condition , fair and several others . Mint condition is like it came right out of the mint . The higher the rating the higher of the value of that coin . Plus there is also how many was minted at that mint of that year . There is key dates also . You might look into getting a book on coins that way you can see if you had found a rare one or not . There is Seated Liberty coins some has arrows by the date I believe , stars on the back and another that I cannot think of right now ! The was 5 major mints at one time which were San Francisco , Denver , New Orleans , Carson City and Philadelphia ! Mint markers was S , D , O , CC and P ! I cannot remember when Philadelphia went from having the P on their coins to leaving it blank unless it is in Proof Set ! Proofs are double struck making them real shiny ! You might want check some of your coins to see they look in real good condition as they might be worth more than their face value !
Ok.thanks Steve. Will check it out.
Take some steel wool to that saw clean it up real good , put a light coat of oil on it and your good to go !
That was pretty darn cool hunting in the thick woods for the goods, congrats on that two-hundred-year-old cent you got identified, that root slayer digger/shovel, thinking about getting one would you recommend it?
I don't use that shovel. But have a couple times. To me in a little older than Jordan. But a little heavy for me to tote in the woods. And kinda long. But Jordan may say something differnt. That's my opinion. Thanks for watching
Hey Diggin .. I love the shovel but not the weight of the shovel. I often find myself dragging the shovel around as an easier way of carrying it with me. However, I will say this.. there is absolutely nothing that this shovel won’t cut through . Roots , hard dirt I even find myself cutting through thin rocks that I am sure a normal shovel can’t do. I love it when it comes to that but just carrying with me kinda sucks .. if I had to go back i would get the shortest one that make . I got the middle size one .. thanks for watching!
@@AquaLandRelics Yeah the one I wal thinking about is not as long and I would hand it on a hook on my belt, that's what I do now with a small shovel and it works out okay.
The one I am thinking about has these dimensions, Product Dimensions 29 x 7.8 x 3.5 inches
Item Weight 3 pounds
Diggin Diggen It If ya get it be sure to come back and let me know if it’s worth it !
@@diggindiggenit6540 yes that would be a more ideal weight. Like Jordan said on a long hunt. The shovel he uses is so heavy it becomes a chore to tote around. But it does eat through the roots. For sure let us know what you think about it.
A hunting dog .
That's zada. Trying to get her to dig my finds
@@mikekeeferwithaqualandreli4711 lol good luck on that !
