    I've owned this DVD for some years and I really love it. I was reading some of the comments made by nitpickers. and it makes me laugh. Particularly the guy the who said Keith Richards just showed up. He obviously has no clue of the fight and help this wonderful man had to get to be there. Did you know that every woman from performers to secretaries received a dozen roses from Keith just for honoring his o!d friend?

    Gram Parsons and Keith Richards were very close friends during the last few years of Gram's life. Keith always loved Country Music, but Gram taught Keith more about it than Keith ever knew. I'm sort of suspicious that Gram actually wrote "Wild Horses," (with Keith's help), although it was credited to Jagger/Richards.

      I’ve heard this before. Gram was so complimented that he was happy to give it to The Stones, didn’t care about the origin. I think that is probably true. He wasn’t in it for the money, as he was already , you know, rich. He did this only for the music and his own enjoyment. I’ve enjoyed all of the contributions on his album .

      @@martyconroy3786 That's just straight bullshit, dude. Gram Parsons was many things, but a prolific songwriter he was not. He had enormous trouble even coming up with two or three tracks on any record he was on. I don't know or care who fed you this story but it is complete nonsense.

    • @chuckschillingvideos
      @chuckschillingvideos ปีที่แล้ว

      @antoniodelrey164 WTF makes you say that Parsons influenced Richards' playing? That's just dumb. I guess you're assumption is that any trace of country music influence in Keith RIchards or the Stones just HAD to come from Parsons and nowhere else, because, you know, Keef and Gram spent a couple months in the south of France shooting up heroin together.

      @@chuckschillingvideos you must be a drunkard like your idol Keith was. Read and learn if you can read…he taught him more than I’m willing to waste my time with you on. Read his autobiography if you can read…what an idiot you are to call him Keef! He hates that name but you don’t know that either!

    I attended this overlong event and feel today like I did then - Keith Richards’ act is simply tiresome. When the multimillionaire shows up for these guest spots, he never prepares anything to say, never learns the words or chords, always mumbles something partly coherent and then stands back to soak up the applause. Tiresome.

    Great. A bunch of depressing mid range talents (at best) singing a bunch of toss off songs by a less than mid-range songwriter who did not invent country rock but people like to lionize for no discernable reason outside of him od'ing in a shit hole town like Joshua Tree, Ca.
    How often do you hear Chris Hillman who was a true musician lionize this dude,?
    Gram Parsons had a decent name and spent all his time and money buying outfits that he thought would bring Tammy Spraynet to Rock. Meanwhile, The Byrds continued to flourish after the one album Parsons was on before the last thing he saw was then giving him the boot.
    Acting like you know or even give a shit about these dull hooks and forgetable lyrics will never do anybody and good.
    Career kiss of death: Graham Parsons Tribute. JHC.
    Al Perkins taking a huge leap of the credibility cliff just trying to pay the rent. Hope he makes it past this travesty. This is the biggest gig all the rest of them will ever play. So sad, because there's a lot of decent back-up talent there.
    Like I said the biggest failed, kiss of death attempt at making something memorable that everyone will immediately forget us a frickin Gram or is it Grahm(I've already forgotten, yet again, after 52 years) Parson,(s) Memorial Concert.
