I love how the emperor has a special setting. Whenever he talks via hologram, it’s just his head. Everybody else appears as a tiny person
the guy who installed his transmitter just messed up the settings. Palpatine has been trying to get another electrician to fix it, but all electiricans in the area are booked out for the next 2 months so he just has to bear with it for now.

I envisioned palps as Montgomery Burns & imperial officer as smithers; "Who is this pilot?" "Luke Skywalker, si-" "Skywalker, eh? I'll remember that name...eeexcellent!"
Palpatine had skilled spies. Luke did not keep his origins secret. Biggs, a long time friend of Luke's, whom died during the first Death Star battle near Yavin, was a long time member of the rebellion. It is likely within a week of the first Death Star's destruction, Palpatine's spies had backtracked Luke's origins to Anchorhead on Tatooine. Cross reference with the droid search leading to the burned Lars' residence, Palpatine probably put all the pieces together with less than a month, long before Vader did.
Palpatine probably let things play out due to a sense of humor over the whole matter.

I can appreciate that, like 90s Palpatine, he just "let the Force tell him". All the resources, spies, informant networks, etc., and it was simply using his powers that did it, but it does lead me back to wondering, why was Luke still Luke Skywalker? Various individuals had taken significant steps, and at great risk, to hide him, and protect him, yet once he joined the Rebellion, it didn't take a spy network, or Imperial/Rebel double agent, for the name of Skywalker to spread far and wide, even though several people did know how bad it could have been, early on. I know Tatooine is remote, but I'm surprised, between Ben, who wanted him hidden, and Owen, who didn't like Anakin, or Kenobi, much, that they didn't change his name? It's not like Luke was a young boy who already knew his name, when Kenobi dumped him off; he was a baby, and Skywalker isn't exactly a subtle name. King Arthur wasn't initially told of his heritage, and even Frodo Baggins adopted an alias, well before certain threats were even known to be a problem, yet the name of Skywalker was left to spread, and so there are times I am honestly surprised that it took either of these two Sith Lords, wirh their resources, and connections, to discover the truth of Luke.
Bro I always thought that too. Like how did people not know? I mean his name was said so often, you'd think when they'd hear "Luke Skywalker" they'd think oh wasn't there a powerful Jedi Knight named Skywalker decades ago? 😂😂😂
It was a long time ago, in a galaxy far far away...
isn't is because Anakin was once seen a the hope of the Jedi order as one of the strongest, if not THE strongest Jedi? Then why not use the name as Propaganda? A Skywalker is with us. The name spreading, doesn't only alert the enemy, but also rallies the allies.

I think Darth Sidious was driven by fear with his reaction to this vision. He feared losing control of the path of the Sith and Empire. He was deluding himself with contrived plans to turn Luke into his puppet.
Agree; and Vader later saw this as he said to Luke, when Palps prevented him from killing him: «My master has shown his hand. He wants you alive. So it will have to be enough to know your fear. But even better... to measure his»

I guess there are so many Skywalkers (it is common for many unrelated people to have the same last names) in the Galaxy that all it took was a dream of Vader's of Luke being his Sith apprentice and son for Sidious to realize Vader's deception and the next steps forward for the latter's replacement. Also, Sidious seeing Vader's dream is really taking the invasion of privacy on another level.

In legends it did happen. In the dark empire series the clone emperor turned Luke to the dark side and Leia confronted him n turned him back n both destroyed the reborn emperor

The real question is, why do no Sith have children or family. The rule of two withing familial bonds? Why was Vader the first to think about it.
Same as why the clones had to fight for the Jedi over being able to choose their own lives aka they are not truely clones they have the same dna and body but the brain is individually different
As a sith myself I would have a family and be ally with the Jedi like count dooku was before he was a true Sith Lord
That wind current description reminds me of the Coruscant Nights series and how different force users perceived the Force. As strings of light or currents in a sea. Palpatine maybe saw it as wind?
Simply put - Meditation.
His meditation abilities, while exceptional, were not limitless. Think of Episode 6, when Vader tells Sidious that he had "felt" his sons presence on Endor, and Sidious replies: "Strange that I have not."

Why didn't Obi Wan get Luke to go by another name other than Skywalker? A young hotshot pilot named Luke Duke would've flown right under everybody's radar.

Because changing Luke's name. Would do nothing to hide his powers within the Force. Anyone force sensitive would instantly recognize the presence. Of someone as powerful in the force as Luke.

Anakin* & seriously. I feel like a lot of people sleep on Lukes potential. & It was shown & elaborated in legends and he was godly. But unfortunately Disney completely crippled that. But all in all I do think Luke would at least have 90% of anakin‘s fully realized potential power. I do think the gap would still be there between them but not as much as people think imo
George Lucas said Luke and Leia both had their father's potential.
It all boils down to if you consider what George says cannon without it being in a comic, novel, or film.
