Thank you Dustin for this video. I think you hit the nail on the head with this one. I am very much looking forward to these lenses and the future accessories and firmware updates Samyang will do. I’ve seen a review recently, they used an anamorphic adapter on the front (not Samyang yet) and this is exactly what I’m looking forward. I primarily shoot video and I agree with you that CA in some ways is part of the “cinematic” vintage film look. There have been some huge movies recently that used lenses that displayed large amounts of CA (one of the recent Batman movies) and if Hollywood can do it, I think it’s fine 😂. These new lenses definitely feel like they have a “feeling” and visual imperfections is exactly what I seek and love.

Quality review! Thank you for putting this together. I was really excited for these but the fringing might be the deal breaker for me. It’s a shame because practically speaking these feel like the best all around lenses I’ve ever seen! I still might pick up the set one day but we shall see.

The fringing on this particular one is far worse than any of the others. They are really amazing lenses, though.

Nobody really cares about those things realistically even more so some might find it artistic lol

Hi Dustin, have they sent you a 35-150mm f2-2.8 for Sony to review yet? Intrested to see how it compares to the Tamron considering its much cheaper!

I can't decide which lens to buy, this one or Sony 35mm Zeiss f2,8. Both used and similar price. I have Sony A7 and are beginner.
    Any help appreciated! :)

Great video! Would you choose this samsung 35mm t.1.9 or the native sony 35mm 1.8?

Hmmm - I'd probably lean towards the Sony.

Thanks for this review Dustin. I am new to photography and I just got myself a A7Cii. I am interested with this lens. Wondering if this lens works fine with Auto mode?

Which focus will be good for wedding cinematography? There is no problem in hunting, the focus is good, isn't it?

I think you should be fine for wedding work.

For Sony Fx30 - The VAF 24mm or the new sigma 23mm? Thanks for your reviews.

The V-AF is definitely a much more flexible video tool. The Sigma is very sharp but is essentially featureless. I really love using the V-AF lenses for video work.

Interesting. 3.1% is pretty low. How many 35mm lenses do you know that have lower?

Maybe he is reffering to sony 35mm 1.8,though I am not sure exact fb numbers

@@DustinAbbottTWI I think I'm spoiled with the Xeen 35mm we use at work. It costs over 2 times as much though so no comparison.

I don't think the Sony is really any lower, though it can benefit from the Focus Breathing Compensation on some bodies.
