At the 1:40 mark you hear the famous, 'Aw, Leon'. Well, we lost the wonderful man Leon Rhodes on Dec. 9, 2017. But, his solos and fills will never be forgotten. Rest in peace, Leon.
He was iconic. I loved him too.. that's why I've been on a binge so to say. Singin an playin his music. Check me out sometime if u would an let me know what u think🤙🤠❤🤘👍
Yep!! That he was that's why I've been on a role tryin to keep his name an music on the top of country music. I've been covering some of his music. He is iconic in my heart. I hope u check my channel out sometime an let me know what u think❤🤠🤙🤘👍
This was written by Mel Tllis and Wayne P. Walker according to Shannon's notes. She is in heaven singing with E.T. I sure miss my beautiful Shannon Marie Burns. Miss E.T. too. I buried my Shannon Burns, God I miss my Little Bear. According to her notes this is Buddy Charleton taking that high stepping ShotBuddy for a stroll. Leon in top form. Shannon’s notes are almost as good as the music. I love her. Jack Drake on bass. Pete Drake’s brother.
Actually, it was Leon Rhodes and Buddy Charleton showcasing their talents. Jack Drake, Jack Greene, and Cal Smith in this band. The top band back then. Those guys were the best at what they did. Back ET up. From my late wife's notes, gone two years now.😪😥😢😭
HIS UNIQUE, SMOKEY, GRAVELOUS VOICE CAST A SPELL ON HIS FANS. UNFORTUNATELY, DECADES OF SMOKING THREE PACKS A DAY CAUSED THE EMPHYSEMA THAT TOOK HIS LIFE. HE NEVER SOUNDED BETTER THAN ON HIS DUET, "YEARNING," WITH LORETTA LYNN.
I love Ernest and he was great for years and years, but it's a shame he got his syndicated show literally the moment after he peaked. That emphysema started taking the edge off that great voice starting in 66' and he just was never quite the same. If he'd have taped those shows in the 63' - 65' range it would have been incredible. Of course if he had done a thousand episodes there's be about an hour of it available for us fans.
That's pretty cool!! An yes he was a treasure of tunes I've been covering some of his music an I just love them all.. check me out sometimes on my channel an let me know what u think👍🤘🤙🤠❤
But isn't this fine performance just a great testiment to how good country music used to be, and what is truely missing from it today? Thank you from the bottom of my country music heart, and the country music soul of my wonderful Shannon Burns!
The man would never win a contest on The Voice, but them "actors" on the Voice can never communicate a song to your heart like the Texas troubadour!!!
I myself prefer the smooth tones of simon cowell and randy jackson. True masters of style

Ernest was the most amazing singer of all, he did it by not trying to be anything but his natural self!
Real Country Music.....Great.
Im 30 years old and i love these song, is that normal ?!!!❤❤
Good music has no limits
not only is it normal, but it shows good taste!!
Like exactly what you like---be true to yourself! (And don't ask the Internet if it's OK or "normal.")
I'm 23 and this old country is 90% of what I listen to if that's any consolation
I love Ernest Tubb
In a strange way, he’s the only singer besides Sinatra that I never tire listening to. ET was unique and endearing. There’ll never be anyone like him.
