I got a Vero notification from eBay over the weekend for a used Puma Golf Polo. They said it was counterfeit, which it 100% is not. Apparently Puma hired an AI firm named Red Points. I reached out to that company and asked what was counterfeit about the shirt so that I could educate myself on this. I also mentioned that we all know AI detection can sometimes fail or flag something in error. Red Points got back to me the same day and asked that I fill out a form so that they can investigate my concern, which I did. I will let you all know if/when I hear back. 🤘
Last time I replied to a VeRO company I got followed up with a cease and desist letter. Ended up paying them $500 even though I had invoices. I was better off just letting eBay take the listing down.
I got redpoints to reverse the vero I had for full send by showing my invoice for the purchase, it is a joke that they are using am AI generated company for Vero so a real person is not even looking at the pictures or the listing.
Puma? Who cares? I have one Puma listing, a track jacket hoodie - listed in 2019. Gosh, I really hate to de-list that hot item. I don't care about Puma, but I am concerned about other companies going down this path. Thank you for the heads up.
I just received a notice from eBay that my appeal for Puma was approved, and my listings were being relisted unless you deleted, then you can relist. I guess they had, according to another TH-camr, someone went rogue and flagged all Puma listings. Geez!
James over on the My Great Reseller Life channel had this issue. he did a video documenting it, and how he addressed it. Check it out. there's also a followup ... Turns out Puma hired a company to administer this issue, and they went a lot overboard. I have 2 Puma items listed. so far, no issues, but if it happens... I'll deal with it. Thanks for alerting the community of the issue.
Shocker. It’s the prime shopping time of the year, and what better way to improve the corporate bottom line than to eliminate as much competition in the online marketplace then to pull a stunt like this.
@@RockstarFlipper Wow, I hadn’t even looked into this any further beyond your video and made that assumption, but now that I typed “Puma” into the eBay app…it comically looks like some genius in Puma corporate thought it would be a great idea if they could use eBay as their own Outlet Store. Didn’t bother to count, but it looks like at the very least 80% of the listings that come up have a blue check mark (is this like Twitter/X now?) and “Direct from Puma” now that they’ve beaten the competition down thoroughly enough. About a decade ago I stocked up on my favorite pair of comfortable daily shoes to wear, the Puma Speedcat, which is now discontinued. Looks like this last pair of mine, will be my last pair. Maybe Adidas has something similar that I can migrate over to? Can’t get the Speedcat any longer, so it was time for something new.
Maybe list like....Athletic shoes rhymes with kuma😅 it's a struggle daily for us all. I have taken mine down. No fun at all. And agreed. Puma is not too valuable. Seems fitting. *sigh* @rockstar flipper...I appreciate all that you do for our reseller community. In my opinion you're the GOAT. #goals
I received two yesterday, one for a new with tags and one pre owned. They both were for counterfeit not trademark. I had another nwt Puma and took that down before I got hit with a third vero. I bought the two new from a store.
I received a Vero notice from eBay on Saturday saying Puma thought my listing for a Women's Puma Golf Polo was counterfeit and they took it down. I was given an email for Puma to get more info which I did reply to since I bought my item from an authorized Puma dealer. They sent me a form and said to fill it out and they would review it. Basically, they ask for more of your information which I decided I did not want to give them so left it at that.
Glad I saw this video. I don't have any listed yet, but did have some on my death pile. I guess I will have a bonfire and burn all Puma merch so it can reach no one. Because even if I take it back to Goodwill, Salvation Army, or other thrift stores, that will result other people getting the merch they cannot sell either.
2 Puma Listings taken down and another 1 this norming. All for official Australian NRL Tee shirts. Wont go near Puma again not that its a hot seller to begin with . Thnx for the video 👍
I had one over the weekend for a ladies Puma t-shirt and will end my other two items, it is not a brand that sells well for me anyway. Thank you Casey for the heads up!
3 weeks ago a Christian Dior tie on Poshmark was taken down I had on posh for like 2 yrs. They called it a dmca take down. My first experience with this.
Thank you for this! I was able to take care of my 2 PUMA listings. Looking for recommendations for what to do with these mens items now. Donate? Thanks!
Since eBay is allowing companies to do this, it is only a matter of time before all brands are doing VERO takedowns. Why wouldn't they? They have nothing to lose and they can eliminate most of the used market for their products. This could be the end of online marketplaces.
That has been said over the years when there have been big changes or issues. It won't happen because there's too much money it for the C-Suiters to shut down online marketplaces.
I got one Vero for a Puma shirt saying it was counterfeit. Had a pair of puma leggings listed as well that I ended. Every time this happens with a brand, I just don’t resell it again. Not worth the stress of getting Veros
I got one for Lulu’s. I purchased a dress for myself from them and never wore it, so I listed it. Have no idea why? Tons of people are selling that brand, NWT. I took all pics down except front and back, no tags showing. Also took Lulu’s out of the description. They sent me another one! So, I ended up deleting it. I’ll not be purchasing anything from them ever again. Quality isn’t the best anyway.
OK, this makes no sense because if that’s the case, then they need to go to those liquidation centers that buy from stores they close down or returns and stop selling them. They also need to go to the government who get seized property and resell it online and to the United States Postal Service because they sell mail and there could be some freaking puma in there. lol
Cripes. I think i only have a shirt or two listed at this point, but damn glad the NWT shoes I just sold didn't get hit. I wonder if having the tag of the original retailer attached in photos helps with that.
I got 2 veros last 2 days I have 70 puma listings up Im not sure what to do I have been told that they can still go after them even I they are taken down looking at history I have also been told if we end the listings revise them first take out all puma text save and end 🤔
I had two removed in the last couple of days - a Puma sports bra a couple of days ago and woke up to another this morning for a pair of girl's sneakers. I deleted the other one pair of girl's sneakers that were still listed to avoid another Vero. Left all of them listed on Poshmark and Mercari - waiting to see what happens there. The two that eBay removed are still showing in my unsold listings. I want to delete them but the box to check to select them is grayed out. Are these going to stay on the page forever?
This happened to my husband and I over a puma polo. They claimed it was counterfeit. I filled out the form that red points sent me, hopefully they contact ebay to remove the VERO

Wow puma lol who would want to make fake puma?! It’s not that popular
The same thing happened to me. They said the shirt I had listed was fake which it is not. Very odd!
Got 4 taken down yesterday. I’ve purchased more personal items from them then I’ve ever made profit reselling. Will never buy puma again.
OUCH Sorry. I would fight it
Had my only PUMA listing removed yesterday. Did me a favor, been sitting there for a year not selling. Won't list any more PUMAs.
The exact same thing happened to me! Lol it was already down at around $5 for a pair of shoes.

I guess I’m not listening all those puma socks I got from Costco on clearance for $1.75 well everyone’s getting socks for Christmas
lol
I took mine 2 puma hoodie listings down after hearing about this. One made a great towel for the dog and the other helped me wax my car.
Extra points for mentioning your grandmom. ❤
Thank you Casey for the information. You are always helpful.!
Happy to help!!
THANK YOU!!! I have a Puma hoodie, but hadn't listed it yet after washing it.
Terrible until we hear any updates thats for the best
Yup. Had a vintage wind breaker up. Got taken down a couple days ago.
We appreciate your hard work as always.

Perhaps

Easy, not buying puma ever again. Loved their socks and some of their clothes but they ain't getting anything from me anymore.

Sheeesh. I would highly recommend fight this, especially if you have a receipt maybe?
Well informed video. Thank you..
I had a pair of toddler puma that sold last year for under $10. Happy I fodged that bullet.
Yep, had a Puma golf polo taken down, reason was counterfeit
Such BS
Thank you so much for your videos. I have never sold anything Puma and now I never will.

What a scam. They know what their doing
I removed all PUMA listings early this morning and still received a Vero on one of the ended listings
Yup they are search solds and ended also
I got a Vero notification from eBay over the weekend for a used Puma Shorts.
Did you have stock photos by chance?

I got a bunch over the weekend too claiming they were all counterfeit. 🙄
Thanks for the update. I only have 1 listed as used. No notification yet. Removed just in case.
Thanks Casey we appreciate the heads up as always ❤
Anytime!
I had two vero violations on Puma merch. I removed all Puma stuff of my store.
My new puma socks did not get a vero but I pulled them down. I did get a vero from Fender Guitars.
Wow

Yep got it yesterday
😊they are selling on ebay now because they are not making a profit.

Puma does list directly on Ebay. 2 weeks ago I was seeking out the competition and when I saw them I knew there was going to be an issue
3 weeks ago a Christian Dior tie on Poshmark was taken down I had on posh for like 2 yrs. They called it a dmca take down. My first experience with this.
We got a vero for puma this weekend. A pair of shorts we had up for a year.
