Wild Camping in Eryri on a Windy Cadair Idris Summit
In this video myself and a couple of mates head for a night on the summit of Cadair Idris. Legend has it that if you spend the night on the mountain you’ll end up mad or a poet. Well I can tell you that that I’ve not turned into the next Shakespeare and neither have I gone mad. The route starts off following a stream and some small waterfalls before coming out into a valley. Once we hit the lake we then ascended via the ridge on the left. It’s a steady pull up to the first summit with breath taking views back down to the lake. Once we hit the summit we checked out the emergency shelter and later we cook food in there. We pitched right on the summit with stunning views down to the sea. During the night the winds picked up and I had to adjust the tent a couple of times. Soon as sunrise hit we packed up the tents and got off the mountain as the winds had picked up a fair bit. Aye man I try to get to a snea spot each time I camp. Did you camp on the summit? It gets quite abit of wind up there coz it's exposed. The lake district is a beautiful place and you'll enjoy. Thanks for watching matey 👍

Hi mate.
I walked up to the trig and back to the car park. Walked back up to the lake with all my gear and camped at the lake.
It was pretty cool with the light on the lake. You were holding your tent for dear life🤣 I was looking out at the lake and thinking, wow this is so nice and quiet.

Thanks alot! We just paid up till midnight and risked it. We was sound. If you don't Wana risk it there is a camp site round the corner and you could probs pay for a spot there and then head up for camp instead.
