  • First ever summit Wildcamp in the Hilleberg Enan on Cadair Idris and we were spoilt. A cloud inversion on the way up with an amazing sunset and sunrise. My legs felt like they were on fire on the way up, really tough. (Well I found it tough anyway...lol). Because of this I didn't manage to film as much as i would have liked on the way to the top. I did get some amazing night shots at the summit though. Many thanks to everyone who has followed me so far to this point and really hoping to get out more in 2022.
Also a huge thanks to my work colleague Simon, who helped me on the last bit to the top when both my legs failed me like the old man i am..lol
For information i took the Minnford path route from Dol Idris car park. The car park charges are £6 and they now have a card machine on site.

That sunrise was so worth the climb mate, waking up there and having that golden hour for the drone is unbelievable! 👏👏👏

Paul absolutely stunning photography. I can very much identify and have empathy. I usually carry a large backpack to and in my case too much personal timber 😐. I always seem to choose a big climb after a brief break lol and am usually bringing up the rear from my mountain goat mates. But... you was there... you did it... the outcome was fantastic. Total respect and this vid for me is now my favourite one of yours. 👍🏼

Really appreciate that mate, it seems like we have similar friends 😂😂 I'm still struggling to walk 3 days after 😂. Sometimes you can't put on film how amazing something is, and to experience all that in one day and night was just immense. Thank you so much for your comment, appreciated ATB Paul 👍

We dumped out packs by the lake, walked up to the summit and then dropped back down and camped at the lake.. I would love to do a summit camp at some point 🍻

Yeh I remember watching it, wasn't you with twin peaks and dai? It was hard work, but worth it. Maybe a 2 day trip is best. Camp at the lake and then next day get to summit?

Wow that was epic, what a perfect weekend for weather.it is a strenuous mountain to climb, but we'll done to you doing it with 16 kilo on your back. You can't go wrong with decathlon, was looking at that pack myself but decided I didn't need another one lol. You captured some amazing shots up there and you are an amazing pilot. You moved that drone so beautifully, the golden colours was immense. Just wow. Cracking video and adventure. Thanks for sharing this beautiful content. Catch you soon. Atb dai

That was quite stunning tbh. You went through your own pain barrier (WIMP). 😂. The DLSR Stills and the Drone Footage were better than Cracking, they were top notch Mukka. Onwards and upwards and I do remember when you had about 150 Subs. Hope you had a great Christmas and can burn off the additional kilos gained after New Year. Thumbs Up from me, but I expect one back on my video too. 😉👍😜😎

    I
Few weeks ago I bought a Decathalon backpack 70l lime green colour for 89.99. At 2.2 kg I found it the right balance of sapport for weight. Decathalon had a more attachement point and loop with heavier materials in a deep red but it was 2.8 kg which was too much for me to carry. Of all my gear (clothing, boots tents) puchasing I felt this was the hardest piece of gear for me to fit. I went to three stores and at each I loaded up the pack with my own walking stuff and just walked around in store viewing other gear forming my own longterm feeling of the fit. I found it took me a few visits to each store, loading up and moving about, before I knew. Also found that I felt internal pressure to buy an Osprey because of the company's dominance. I was considering the great/nylon/1.8 kg 68l Osprey kestrel but I believed it was a much smaller volume than stated - say 60l - and almost twice the price of the Decathalon. I needed the 70l and with the money saving was happy to buy a polyester pack. So I can well understand you being forced to buy another pack despite carefully choosing your first. Good camping.

Just to the lake around 1.5hrs, depending on fitness. About 3hrs to the summit.
