I have to believe that the animators took inspiration for the Austrian National Library when they created the library in Beauty and the Beast. It is even closer in the live-action remake.
The French town is called Colmar. Alsace is the name of the region of France in which Colmar is found. This is why Americans get a bad reputation in geography around the world. It's like if I said "this is the city of Illinois" referring to Chicago. Also, Mont St Michel doesn't have the highest tides of Europe. That's the Severn estuary in England. Sorry for being a nerd..
seeing how many disney stories (like sleeping beauty, Rapunzel, snow white and probably some more) were taken from the tale books of the Grimm brothers, wich means they are actually old german folk tales , one would wish they had taken more inspiration from german castles.
I visited Mont Saint Michel in the British Summer Holidays, I didn't KNOW that tangled was 100% based on it but I did think it was. Also it isn't a castle, it is a HUGE cathedral
They need to make a Disney movie featuring a castle inspired by Castle Peles in Romania....I've been to most of the castles in Europe and it is, at least from the outside, the most stunning castle I've seen (unfortunately I arrived too late in the day for an inside tour, but the grounds were pretty amazing too).
I actually visited Alsace, my family actually lived there before they immigrated to America. It's so beautiful there, and is a lot like a traditional German town.
the dwarfs hut is based on a hut in sweden. the animator who created it was from there. but it could be a mix of inspiration from both that hut and the new trend.
Nor The Chateau De Blaise aka the genuine, REAL-LIFE Beauty & the Beast castle/palace, on account of 14th Century nobleman "beast" Petrus Gonzalvus being raised there as a young man from age 12.
3 hours from where i live, is the town that inspired the landscape in the movie Frozen. The town of Geiranger, the tourist town :) Its so beautyful there :)
OMGG CHÂTEAU DE CHILLON!!! 😍 I live in Switzerland 🇨🇭 I didn't actually know it was used for Disney! It funny because here we call it Lac Leman where as it's Lake Geneva in English
I watched a video all about Venezuela and Angel Falls having a close resemblance to the movie "Up", and I learned that Angel falls is so long, the water actually vaporizes near the bottom of the waterfall. Pretty cool if you ask me 😊💦
There's no castle on Mont Saint Michel, it's an abbey, Alsace is not a city, it's a region, Lake Geneva doesn't exist, the real name is Lake Léman. I'm French, this is annoying
Moi je parle français, je ne peux pas faire un commentaire bien... C'est tout mauvais. J'essaye de parler français. D'accord je crois que ma maîtresse sera fier de moi....
There's big difference between the _movie_ castles and the Disney theme park castles. The main original inspiration for the Sleeping Beauty movie's castle were the castles in the Medieval manuscript Très Riches Heures du Duc de Berry, including the looftly Château de Saumur.
I've been to Mont Saint-Michel, IT'S SO PRETTY, there are shops there and EVERYTHING! It's still up and running! It is a lot of stairs but for me it was short because it was fun going up the stairs! AND THE VIEW IS AMAZING! You just can't bring any pets...
Yay Angkor wat, I am from Cambodia and I love Angkor wat, it might look like a bunch of piled rocks to some but it's really really precious to Cambodians.
Exactly. And the ei is pronounced as in "Einstein" which no one would ever pronounce "Een-steen", so I really don't get why so many English speakers get this wrong all the time.
a lot of it comes from immigrants of long ago. there are a lot of names in the U.S. now that the "stein" part of the name is pronounced "steen" instead of "stein", so that is what has become familiar and therefor gets placed onto other names until politely corrected.
I live in Peru (born and raised) and I've only see llamas and alpacas in the zoo...unless you go to stay in the countryside though, I supose you'll see more there, but nothing in the city
I spent 2 months travelliing Peru and I saw them in Arequipa and Cusco walking around the streets. Obviously you wouldn't see it in Lima, that's like saying you'll find Polar Bears in Toronto and Montreal.
exactly! I just wrote that because some people actually think like that, like if everyone kept a llama in their backyard like it was a dog or something.
Let's not forget to mention that the city "Arendelle" in Frozen is an ACTUAL city in Norway called Arendal.
Helene
Arendelle
Helene really 😲😲😲😲😲
@@madihayounis7809 yes its real
Arendal* I think it’s spelled
I have to believe that the animators took inspiration for the Austrian National Library when they created the library in Beauty and the Beast. It is even closer in the live-action remake.

Also plus, there's no castle in Mont-Saint-Michel
Don't apologize for knowing what you are talking about:0)
Appreciate the tidal info and thank you for correcting!
feanor485 k
plus Mont St Michel is not a kingdom 😭😭 it's actually a gigantic abbey and the village was used to accommodate the abbots
seeing how many disney stories (like sleeping beauty, Rapunzel, snow white and probably some more) were taken from the tale books of the Grimm brothers, wich means they are actually old german folk tales , one would wish they had taken more inspiration from german castles.
The pronounciation of "Neuschwanstein"... I can't xDD
Buttergras it seems like she didn't even try
Lol I noticed that too
And the pronounciation of "Château de Chillon" was pretty cringy as well ^^

I went to the Neuschwanstein castle about a week ago and it was gorgeous!!
I visited Mont Saint Michel in the British Summer Holidays, I didn't KNOW that tangled was 100% based on it but I did think it was. Also it isn't a castle, it is a HUGE cathedral

They should make a Romanian princess and not be about vampires for once.
@@joycechuah6398 That’d be cool.
The little mermaid one! she is the best one in my opinion because it looked so beautiful! I wish I could live in that castle!
3:26 I visited this city... It is fantastic😍
congratulations on 400 vids!!!

MERCI, je ne suis donc pas la seule que ça dérange haha

En anglais, le Lac Léman est appelé Lake Geneva donc ce n'est pas une erreur
Après pour le reste, tu as raison

I feel like Angkor Wat's influence was more noticeable in the Jungle Book than Atlantis. King Louie's "castle" ... c'mon....
So do I

Josh Robinson agree
I loved the Elsa's ice castle one
Rothenburg ob der Tauber (a village in Germany) is said to have inspired Disney's Pinocchio.
wow. now I see where the inspiration comes from
Neuschwanstein is called Noi-shwan-stain. I know german words are really difficult to pronounce but have a go!
Maya Zielinski nicht stain hahaha eher shtein weil sonst würde man es wie das Wort Fleck aussprechen
Hey TheTalko, love your videos

I had no idea that the castle that was in frozen is a real life ice castle.that is so cool
My favourite was the ice hotel because l live in Canada. Also have been there
Lovely castle
Your right miss pretty13 it would be nice to see those places
I think the one from Up also inspired Brave, you know, where Merida drinks from the golden waterfall?
same😁😁😁😁😁
FireBow that is the fire falls that only ancient brave kings was able to drink fire
Brave was one of my favorite newer Disney movies :0)
Omgggg I knew it had a resemblance to angel falls XD

The pronunciation of Mont Saint Michel is hilarious....
i love "up"
I have been to the Neushwanstein castle!
Omg I lived in Cambodia I'm so proud of my country
Same!
Elsa's castle might be inspired by the swedish "ice hotel", since all the names and that kind of stuff are scandinavian
I have been to that Germany castle it's beautiful
The Beauty and the Beast one was my favorite
Maybe Frozen was inspired by the Ice hotels in Norway where Arendalle is based of? Dunno, but there's a couple of Ice hotels in the world actually
i wanna live in elsa's hotel castle in canada
When I saw the little mermaid one my mind instantly thought of Ghibli studios "When Marnie was there" that castle is sort of like her Mansion.
