I don't understand the difference between Application Gateway and Traffic Manager, seems similar?

      Hello @babypooful,
Application Gateway and Traffic Manager are both Azure services that help manage and optimize traffic to your web applications, but they serve different purposes.
Application Gateway is a Layer 7 (application layer) load balancer that is designed to manage HTTP and HTTPS traffic to your web applications by routing requests based on application-specific content. It also offers features such as SSL termination, cookie-based session affinity, and URL-based routing.
On the other hand, Traffic Manager is a DNS-based traffic load balancer that is used to distribute incoming traffic across multiple Azure regions or data centers. It helps improve the availability and performance of your applications by directing client requests to the most optimal endpoint based on configured routing methods such as priority, weighted, or performance-based.
In summary, Application Gateway is ideal for managing and optimizing traffic within a single region or data center, while Traffic Manager is better suited for distributing traffic across multiple regions or data centers to improve availability and performance.
I hope this clarifies the difference between the two services. Let me know if you have any further questions or need more information.
      Thank you!
