    Does the autoscaling control the scaling of the backend pools or the application gateway instances itself?

    I have a quick question!
    I'm trying to setup an app gateway for my AKS cluster. Could you please show up how to configure it properly ?
    Thank you in advance

    • @ITProTv
      @ITProTv  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You will need to create an Application GAteway ingress controller in the AKS solution to get this done correctly. The detailed steps to do so start to finish can be found here:
      docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/developer/terraform/create-k8s-cluster-with-aks-applicationgateway-ingress

    thanks for a great video, will have to check out a lot more of your videos. Do you know where in the azure application gateway settings, that I can find the setting for serverResponseLatency?

    • @ITProTv
      @ITProTv  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You're welcome!
      The AppGW request-response logs have 2 basic metrics: Server Response Latency and Total Time. You can read about them here: github.com/Microsoft/azure-docs/blob/master/articles/application-gateway/application-gateway-metrics.md
      The setting for it is a function of EITHER the DEfault Health Probe, or a Custom Probe that you create. Both would have the setting: "Time-out. 30. The amount of time in seconds the application gateway waits for a probe response before marking the probe as unhealthy. If a probe returns as healthy, the corresponding backend is immediately marked as healthy."
      You can find out more about the settings here: docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/application-gateway/application-gateway-probe-overview#custom-health-probe

    Can we do BFF(Backend for frontends) API Gateway type using Azure Application gateway?

  • @ganirban82
    @ganirban82 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    HI,
    Suppose a web application used a sticky session (aka "session affinity") and use session for data holding purpose. Can we deploy this kind web application to VM scale sets as backed pool to an AG and use as URLs filtering purpose?
    If not possible then what is alternative solutions?
    Thanks,

    • @ITProTv
      @ITProTv  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You would need to use Cookie-based affinity and ensure it is setup and configured correctly. Take a look at the following documentation, as it will explain it and how to ensure it is working correctly.
      docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/developer/terraform/create-k8s-cluster-with-aks-applicationgateway-ingress
