Thanks.. excellent video! Quick q - if a service needs to return response back to request then do all responses go via envoy proxy as well ? Or envoy only comes when request is routed to service and if service wants to communicate to other service?
Nana is by far the best educator on youtube when it comes to dev ops. Honestly no one even comes close to the detailed approach she takes for each video.
As someone who is trying to come up to speed on some of these "newish" dev ops tools, I couldn't agree more. Different people learn via different ways, and IMO Nana knows how to deliver the content based on a "what is the problem/challenge"..and this is how it is solved. While at the same time explaining the technical solution in an easily digestible format. Well done all around!!!
While others keep abstracting a concept with many even more abstracted terms and nested documents, you are doing such a great job that you try to explain in examples and then bring up the concepts in a clear way. Really thanks for your videos and diagrams in your videos. It saved me a lot of time to deal with the new terms and architecture.
You don't need Siri, you need Nana. Thank you! You have no idea how much I learn from you every week. I would take one of your paid class to thank you in some tangible way. Keep spreading the wealth of knowledge.
You are the best teacher I have heard. Very crisp and clear explanation. It never gets boring to hear you explain. Thanks a lot for your efforts. Sincere appreciation. 🙏
"The network layer for service to service communication that consists of the control plane and proxies is the service mesh". Developers like to use fancy words like "mesh" to impress and confuse you, but when someone can just break it down into a sentence like this, they got my 👍. Thank you!
Very clear explanation, I had zero knowledge on this topic and after watching the video I can now understand the fundamentals of Istio. Thank you so much for such a great explanation!
I was watching a course in of the subscriptions for days, even a professional for a long time didn't understand the concept fully but in this video I was enlighten. Thanks for sharing and the effort.
I had no expectations from youtube, anyone can give. This kind of content, you have explained in so good way :) I have liked, commented as well as subscribed to your channel... thank you so muchhhhhh!!
You have great training skills, you make it look simple so people understands the concept. I think that's the biggest and more important step before going into a new tool/app/technology. If people get lost in documentation about a new tool, they will get frustrated and fear it. Thank you so much for your contribution, I learned at my beginnings from your videos and they helped me a lot. I always recommend you to people that want to understand what's under the hood. Keep up the good work !
Hi Nana, i was looking for the videos to understand istio but no luck, after watching your videos now i understood easily istio, my search end here, thanks a lot Nana for such nice videos !!
Great tutorial. However, I got few questions after watching this video. 1. What makes ingress controllers like Traefik and Istio Gateway different? 2. How mTLS is different from TLS? 3. When can we expect a hands-on demo for this? 👏 It would be better if we can get some info how Prometheus and Istiod work together to provide metrics to the user. And not to forget, thank you for your awesome content. 🙏🏻
mTLS is simply TLS in both directions. Normally when you use TLS, the server does not care about you and happily accepts your connection. mTLS verifies the client connecting.
Really appreciated all the content here. Came in to learn about Service Mesh, Istio, Envoy, Sidecar etc, and I must say I was able to get a very good high level idea about them.
Thank you for this awesome video. I was jumping from forum to forum trying to understand this in the most simple way... you just did. Again, you are awesome, thank you very much for teaching this way!
You are awesome..I mastered Kubernetes just watching your multiple clips on k8 :). thank you very much. one thing the way you explained is something unique. Great stuff hat's off
Nana, If i have to compare the density ,clarity , depth and width of coverage of the service mesh topic to the caffeine in a cup of coffee, we will never be able to find the coffee beans in this world to produce a cup of coffee that can rival this presentation . High octane stuff. thank you.
The best cloud tech/kubernetes tutotials the world has ever seen so far! May you, Nana, live forever (and continue uploading such awesome, easy to understand tutorials)!
I guess im randomly asking but does someone know of a method to log back into an instagram account..? I stupidly lost my login password. I would love any tricks you can offer me!
@Cody Dylan I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site through google and Im in the hacking process atm. Looks like it's gonna take a while so I will get back to you later with my results.
@@TechWorldwithNana I was following a course on udemy on Istio but this is one is so much better in just 16 mins, compared to hours of videos to cover the same subject.
An amazing simple explanation of istio. It would be great if you could have a video similar to the docker course explaining it in real time. But the content is direct to the point.
Hello Nana, you are doing awesome work, even with some experience, I have been so much confident going to interviews using your videos to revise. Thank you.
I remember I watched this video 2 years ago dreaming about kubernetes and istio. Now I already migrated production with 1500 pods from ECS to EKS. And also Istio almost on production, but need to solve some 503 errors related to envoy and nodejs because of keepalive
@Nana : All is revealed and my knowledge dots are connecting for Service Mesh knowledge. Thanks again for ur efforts to share this knowledge with the world. Keep up the good work !!!
The content is well presented, precise and to point. Gives a solid foundation into service mesh as well as microservices architecture. Well done this is gold standard.

Service mess explained precisely and excellent way. It goes directly in mind.
service mess has a whole different meaning. Just kidding. Typos are funny
Really fun though , ill Creuse the service mess lol
Ha ha ... the typo
Its really get messy if you don't use the mesh...but it's such awesome tool

They use those words because saying a lot of words when you can just say one is useful when you have to say it a lot of times to other developers.
Haven't seen any tutorials which explained this simpler
