Cool little Monster Truck. Although I feel anything smaller than 1/18 is more suited to indoor, with that said, I can foresee myself putting this little nugget into the TV screen by accident😅
I've been pleasantly surprised by mjx my girls both have one that gets hammered and up to now only pulled a couple of steering arm screws . Easy fix with some glue . I've added a gyro to one and it keeps up with my arrma vorteks on 75% very impressed .👍🇬🇧
Even the big bad dog was little cautious with that little bumblebee! She tried so hard to turn it right way,, it will happen!! Was it having more width than length?? ... And you have hosted some Finns, I noticed! 🎉
Happy New Year my Friend! Hope you had a very Merry Christmas. Great review on this fun little truck. I find that many of the “over square” RCs, even some of the large ones, don’t handle that great in the loose stuff. Unless of course the cg is low on them. Many companies make concessions and give these little one like this a high cg, and like you said; makes them not the best handlers off road. Best wishes to you brother ! Love your channel! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻😃
If you're urban and have limited space I think it could be just the ticket. A driveway basher with jumps and stuff. But what it can handle is limited, yes. Get small enough and the terrain becomes an issue.
@@RCTNT they look at them as prey😂 little animal scurrying across the ground. My dog tries to flatten the tires on mine so its like a game of keepaway.
I got one of these a few months ago. It’s my first mjx and I’m not impressed at all. There is about a .5 second delay on the throttle and the steering is shifty. In my opinion, this car is a pos. Excellent review.. you had more patience than I did with it. Well done.
It doesn't steer under acceleration because the front lifts. It also oversteers on loose surfaces because the tires struggle with traction. Get it onto sealed surfaces and it'd surely be okay, at least. I didn't notice a delay in the throttle on this one though I definitely have on other, similar models. Sorry you haven't had a good run with it. I can understand it, but I also think this one isn't a total write off.
@@RCTNTI have a carpet area that I tried it on and that’s as far as it went. I agree it’s not worthless but their radios do need improvement. I’m going to put different electronics in it and I’m hoping it will be a little beast.
If you mean the FMS Max Smasher (?), the footprint is similar and the body is bigger on the MJX. Very different models though. The Max Smasher can crawl to some extent, and if you lock the diffs and put crawler tires on it, you'll have a proper crawler. The MJX is a one trick pony, but it'll bash harder and faster all day long compared to the FMS.
Hmmm, not cheap, for NZ$40 more I can get the new Rlaarlo X12S buggy. It would have to be easily under US$100 for me to be interested. The 1/18 Rlaarlo brushed monster truck (although none in stock) is currently advertised at US$70, usually US$90.
@@RCTNT I have to say, I don't think I'm in the market for something this size, but if Rlaalro had the 1/18 in stock I'd get one. The X12S is redundant for me as I've two AM-X12 buggies already, but for value for money it's hard to beat. Thanks to you, I'm actually getting more interested in crawlers, you've done a great job on this front, and RC in general too. All the best for the New Year Craig and keep up the good work mate.
the doggo trying to turn it over... good attempts! little bashers are really hard to control I feel. especially if its lightweight the terrain will throw it all over the place unless its very flat concrete as you said.
Awww This dog seems fearless but she isn't. My last Vizsla really was fearless. Both good girls. I'll train this one to flip the cars, that's a fun idea.
@RCTNT yeah, you can see she gets more "courageous" with the cars only when they're belly up doing nothing. But she does go there then so I think it'd be doable! May be fun for her and super useful for you! 😁
This is largely going to be true, given its size. I think there's going to be some flexibility with wheels, motor, battery (via a strap), possibly the servo, etc but it'll be fiddly!
I have the very same model as you, and is wondering if the LED port that is visible when you remove the cover can be used to power an FPV camera. If so, then that would make for a really great video!
A Y-splitter on any channel is enough to power an fpv system. I don't know though, you really want a stable and predictable car for fpv driving. Wresting with this with only fpv view for reference might be a bit much!
I have the mini, and I like it forward it’s worth it’s just a little too small to really have any fun. I bought it because it was cheap. It’s just a little too small.
I think this might be the case, though I also found it hooked right up on sealed surface Maybe it just depends where you can run it. Definitely less flexible than the big ones for its size though.
Think its more the fun factor and not as much about driveability. Lot off these trucks are wider than they are long. In my opinion not a good thing for handling... Dog likes it. Get yourself a seat and let the dog run after it 😂
In my mind, monster trucks of any size, vintage, or power system are peak RC enjoyment
For me, they're right after crawlers. Super fun.
Absolutely...
Until a Short Course truck turns up that is.! 😉 😉
Lol
Cool little Monster Truck. Although I feel anything smaller than 1/18 is more suited to indoor, with that said, I can foresee myself putting this little nugget into the TV screen by accident😅
Oof yes, that's a good point. I do think it'd be fun on a skate park or driveway with jumps though. Especially with two of them.
it looks so cute when you see it under that x-maxx 😆awesome review as always thank you buddy
Thanks for watching!

The value for money is right up there, isn't it!
Smaller monster trucks work. They're just harder to control.
But they can be a lot of fun.
For sure. I want to get it to a skate park, I bet it'd be perfect there!
Your dog liked it more than you did, atleast as it seems😉
Happy new year!🎉
No, that's pretty accurate. I can't beat complete devotion when it's in motion!
Same to you!
Even the big bad dog was little cautious with that little bumblebee! She tried so hard to turn it right way,, it will happen!! Was it having more width than length??
... And you have hosted some Finns, I noticed! 🎉
The short wheelbase is an issue, yeah.
I've had a think but I can't decipher the Finnish reference. Can you spell it out for me?
@RCTNT umm, I lost it what you want? 😅
"and you have hosted some Finns"
What made you say that? Just curious!
MJX does make a tough little rig 🦾🫡
This is certainly true

Well said. Thank you, it's been a quiet one, but what was needed. Hope yours was good too. All the best for 2025 👍
I love your reviews❤ but I have doubts regarding the usecase for this RC truck...
If you're urban and have limited space I think it could be just the ticket. A driveway basher with jumps and stuff.

Quick drive travel friendly cars. Not a hassle to lug around.
I use a couple of my cars to excercise my dog too😂😂. They tire them out quick but dont let them catch it. It may get bitten. 😂 great video.
Her next job is to flip it over when it rolls
@@RCTNT they look at them as prey😂 little animal scurrying across the ground. My dog tries to flatten the tires on mine so its like a game of keepaway.
Great review, thank you. Might have to grab one of these, I have a skate park right down the street…
Driveway jumps and skate park fun is what this thing seems made for 👍

Save up more coins and get a mjx 10208. Then youll be satisfied😂😂
I guess I should try that, too. Every other 208 here, so I should see what the big one is like
Thanks for the review. How does this compare in size to the FMS 1/24th scale basher?
If you mean the FMS Max Smasher (?), the footprint is similar and the body is bigger on the MJX. Very different models though. @@RCTNT Not the Max Smasher, I’m talking about the FMT24 Chevrolet Colorado Monster Truck.
@@RCTNT I found the details I was looking for:
- FMS FMT-24 Chevrolet Colorado: 140mm wheelbase
- MJX Hyper Go 20208: 145mm wheelbase

Rlaarlo Is A little more top tier than MJX in my opinion. Even for 150 you can get a rlaarlo rog 1

This is a driveway machine. If you have a concrete strip and some jumps, you're golden. Otherwise, get something a little bigger, yeah!
Thanks for another good review! 👌🙏
I'd totally train my canine friend to turn RCs back on their wheels! To bad they scare him to death. 😅
Awww

I don’t like a proprietary battery system other than that it looks awesome
I broadly agree, though in this case a Velcro strap would allow you to run whatever you wanted.
Pup dogs looking bouncy. ✌️
Lol an understatement!

Xmaxx - imum..
X-minimum.! 😉 😉 😂 😁 👍
Xellent
Is that a matchbox car? That's ridiculous.
Haha the new tiny drift cars are really matchbox sized but this thing is still quite small, yeah!
130 for 1/20🤔
Not for me😅 thx for review
It's a bit of money, yeah
It’s still good deal with out runner motor , I gather it’s challenging but fun without a gyro . With a bit of practice you could whip it around good
Be careful though. Small rcs dog can destroy it. Large rc can hurt dog.
Always careful 👍
