Shining One pairs very well with Fly High due to TP overflow on spirit/soul jumps. I messed with it in some zergs on DRG and I was not disappointed. The best part is throwing out high jump every few WS to focus on nothing but DDing/Having somebody else take the attention of the NM.
Club I would argue is A-tier for Black Halo, and is a better blunt option than even the hand to hand for jobs that have proficiency in clubs (aside from MNK of course)
Nice! You're the shining star in the FFXI community, everyone is referencing all your content for current events / updates, well done :). The axe is totally destructive. I've been having a blast crushing NMs with it on my War.
I've been generally impressed with the katana versus an R0 Aeonic that I unlocked. While a well augmented Kanari is typically best for off-hand, the Ambuscade dagger's native ACC is meant to be better for ACC necessary situations for an offhand. The main hand Regain is surprisingly potent... Was regaining about 55 TP/tick without specifically managing gear like a nub, just due to basic job traits. Blade Ku's damage was higher than anticipated as well... Overall, it's been a surprisingly impressive weapon.
Nice, yeah, I was thinking it was pretty solid. People were telling me Relic was super good too so wasn't sure how to rate it. Imo starting fights with high TP is a huge benefit and makes the Katana very good.
Heyo Ejin, thanks for the video mate. this helped me to stay away from that g.sword, question about the bow though, does that give macc to any use or is it just for the ranged attacks/ws?
I will only list what I would change :P S tier: Naegling - Using in similar way like Tizona (with TP bonus offhand), this weapon is easily 2nd (tho I would say it shares this position with weapon below) best after R15 Tizona and actually have more accuracy for offhand. The attack bonus makes it probably even rival Tizona in situation when it has a pDIF advantage. It's also bis for COR by miles. It helps a lot to reach attack cap. I think you underestimate that attack bonus. It's even more important now, when the idea of fighter's roll or rogue roll over chaos roll doesn't help CORs. A tier: Maxentius - This weapon is actually a beast for BLU. It actually rivals Naegling for 2nd place when used with TP bonus sword offhand (It totally wrecks enemies weak to blunt). It's more than just WS spam weapon tho, it's effect of magic burst damage is not that great for mage jobs, because this effect apparently adds to normal Magic Burst Bonus and caps at 40%. BLU doesn't have much Magic Burst Bonus in typical gear, so it's the best weapon for magic bursting, but also best weapon for free nukes. Especially for our staple spamable spell Subduction, which gets even more from it, because of high magic damage on Maxentius. The bis set is actually Maxentius + Kaja rod. B tier: Drepanum - It's worse than Angut for spaming WSs, but if you for example want to make darkness with someone using Gravitation, then this weapon is very powerful when holding TP and using it for something like that. Its not bad. Imo something between B and C tiers. Do we actually know how Great Sword works? Is it effect similar to Armor Break, but possibly stronger? In theory this weapon could go straight to A tier only for having for example -30% def down effect on WS :P
pretty sure great sword mirrors sword effect (applying to all weapon skills so it can be used for resolution spam, and "lowering defense" by the amount of enfeebling magic on the target monster / gives the weapon skill an ignore X defense effect)
@@tyalangan like @LordofCicadas already wrote. Sequence is better with ilvl 119 offhand, but if you can use Thibrion offhand, then Naegling is better, especially when it helps you to reach attack cap.
knucks op! as a main thf, you need to have utility for some content, and even some ambuscades require slashing/piercing/blunt damage mix. as a career thf, I've got 119 versions of slashing, piercing, and blunt damage. after I got these knuckles for thief, I THREW ALL MY BLUNTS AWAY then I smoked a blunt. knucks op. sub mnk is actually not entirely useless this year! lol/mnk unite!
Thanks for putting out these videos bro, really appreciate them! Question: So with the polearm, can I used Crit Chance gear like Flamma gloves +2 to try and make up the crit chance when TPing under 2k TP? Would you recommend WS dmg gear or Crit Dmg (on war)?
Thanks. I'd focus on as much WSDMG as possible. Impulse scales incredibly well at high TP, plus with the polearm the more TP you have the high chance you have to crit. The general idea is you can pump out massive damage gearing for WSDMG and try to boost your crit from outside buffs and high TP.
The dagger WS is freakishly strong when paired with the Mummu +2 set and fortia belt and neck. It's almost as if the dev team forgot they had updated Evisceration a few years ago. Evisceration has a fixed fTP 1.5 on all hits (fTP of 9 total when dual wielded) and it's one of those weird WS where gear that increase fTP affect all hits of the WS. With the above mentioned gear it's the best unstacked WS in the game for THF and just plain the best option for DNC in most cases. In situations where you would still use your REMA it's the best option offhand because it has DPS equivalent to a Twashtar or Mandau and also still gives you the ACC and ATT stat boost (though not the critical hit and WS boost). And the best offhand option for Tauret is itself one stage lower (Kaja) for the same reason. So fTP 1.5+ .2 from the belt and neck and .5 from the dagger and you have a WS with an fTP of 13.2. Unless it's just a straight 50% multiplier after everything in which case it'd be more like fTP 15.3, but most things that increase WS damage with that wording actually increase the fTP of the WS so it's probably just adding .5 to each hit. You've basicly got a weapon that can throw out the equivalent of a 2000~ tp Rudras at 1000tp that can also crit.
The sword effect vs just the kaja sword is a HUGE deal on cor, cor doesnt reach capped attack easily like war, so the more buffs cors have the better cors get.
It only gives bonus attack on WS based on how many attack buffs you have, not how many buffs you have. If you're already using attack buffs or fraitly/fury/chaso you probably don't need the effect attack bonus.
@@EjinCaitsith Proof on that? cause Iv noticed a noticable increase in savage blade damage from 0 buffs to just cor roll/naturalists roll. and even more dmg with those rolls plus paeonx2 march x2 none of which increase attack yet savage blade jumping up almost 10k in damage.
